I never really thought about it to be honest. Up till like an hour ago, the only memories I ever had were those at the lab. She shrugged to herself. No, i don't think to have a lover would mean giving up happiness...it would just be another kind of happiness. Aside from that which you have with friends...and family. She hesitated on the last word.

These humans and humanoids would have made very poor scientists. Nothing they told M was exact or had an absolute. He did not like that. Things were simpler in his cell. This world was amazing, but only became complicated when humans were introduced. What would the world be like without humans?.....He wouldn't exist if they hadn't so perhaps it is for the best that they do. ".....Tomeko....how..would..you..react..if..someone..gave..you..love?......" M asked, his phrasing of the question in need of help.

Across the shimmering ocean, the morning sun could be seen beginning its ascent. Morning had come and the resort would return to its bustling self. With the new day came something special. The experiments had been dropped a day before the resort's mask festival. Everyone would perform and run through the streets dressed in costumes in celebration of uniqueness. The noise of the large crowd and partying could be heard from the balcony.

Sabine woke disgruntled and uncomfortable. The sun was coming up, and she knew she wouldn't be able to sleep out the heat today - that would be difficult. She stood, stretching, and walked to the balcony to breathe deeply in the fresh morning air. The crowd below interested her - she wondered what could be causing their excitement.

(You could. Since you are wearing your armor, taking it off would probably keep you from being found. Since the resort is doing a festival it would be easy to get lost if you made it that for. Or you could go for the jungle like Kiba.)

M woke with the rising sun. Sitting up in bed and looking at Sabine, he responded," Of course. What is it?" As the humans woke up, their minds began to flood M's like a tidal wave. Suppressing his habit of reaching out to the mind around him, M picked up the thoughts of 'partying' and 'festival'. These were terms new to him and he was curious to learn what they meant. It would be something to find out later though.

'I am not sure what to make of this island, or the people I have met here,' Sabine told M. 'My emotions are frustrating me - they are not rational, and yet I cannot feel otherwise. I do not know in what relationship I stand to you, for example, as compared to Nelia or Leeloo... I feel more strongly for some than for others, and I do not see why this should be. Do you know... anything of this? Have you experienced the same?' Sabine was looking for answers, and she hadn't found them in her own mind. And she didn't seem to be able to understand the terms the others spoke in - she only hoped that M could explain something to her. Any part of this, at all.

As M stood Leeloo turned on to her side, unable to stop the tears. Her heart ached and she got up. Her pale skin was still coated with the rest of the toxins but it did not matter. "I... have to leave. Contact my creator. Tell him to take me back." She said, not caring how they reacted. She couldn't stay on Earth much longer. "Too much pain." She whispered and gently let the elements slide into the bag. She turned, and did not say goodbye. She knew the last moment was the worst. Her silvery tears dropped on to the ground as she shouldered the bag. Her shoulder shook with sobs as she stepped closer to the window. "I love you, M." She said and jumped.

"I have spoken with the girls on this topic because I feel relatively the same emotions as you. They have informed me that intense feelings like these could be 'love'. When humans get this feeling, apparently they tend to form a tighter relationship with the one they 'love' at the price of excluding all others from this inner circle. They then become 'lovers' and enjoy a happiness of a different species than the happiness of friendship," M informed Sabine. Believing his deduction to be factual, M asked Sabine," Do you love me, Sabine?"

Leeloo leaving him once was one too many for M. Deciding to make things harder for Leeloo to escape. M made a dome around the side of the hotel that would catch Leeloo and restrict her movements. ".....Leeloo....come to me...." M thought to her.

Leeloo stumbled as her movements were restricted. She pulled an alien-like device out of her bag.
"Creator, take me home. I can't take it anymore!" Tears ran down her face and her voice was heavy with tears.
"Leeloo, your home is only a satallite with a bed. Don't you like living on the Earth?" Came the reply
"No! I can't take it anymore! Take me home, please!" Then she hung up and kicked her legs and pulled and pushed against her almost prison. "Get off me!" She sobbed and tried to get free. "Let me go..." She stopped trying to escape and fell to her knees. "Can't you see what you're doing to me?"
