Tam snorts softly through his nose. "Regressed maybe, but changed... no. I tod ye, ye wouldn't. Didn't ye believe me?" He goes to take a sip of the tea, then pauses with it just below his nose, giving it an experimental sniff.

He slowly sips at it and laughs. "Sorry, but ye've gotten me that way many a time now... I guess I'm getting paranoid. Anyway... I take it Granddad said no to the fishing part of the trip, huh? He must have a school of newbies he's raising out there. He doesn't mind once the smarter fish are trained in avoidance methods... says we keep the stupid ones from replicating themselves."

Tam chuckles softly. "Actually I didn't hear him say a word. By the time ye got to me, I think he was too angry to do anything but blow bubbles... well... I'd like to get dinner going soon. I was hoping to do a slow bake. It takes all the hard work out of preparing a meal, ye know." He looks around and sees the cat harness lying on the ground, neatly sliced in two. "Now how in the world did he do that?"

Tam sighs. I'd hate to tie him up iffin he doesn't try to run away. Why not just keep an eye on him... better yet, tell Salunia she's in charge... she'll have fun doing it and he'll keep her busy, I'm sure."

Tam nods. "Yep... too bad this is freshwater... a good size salmon would feed us all and tastes so good baked on the beach in a driftwood fire, but trout works just as well. Think ye can scrounge me up enough for all of us."

Tam wipes if off and begins to gather together the items he needs to make dinner. He scrubs the potatoes clean and slices them thin, then does the same to a couple of small onions> Then he makes the lemon butter and adds the chopped parsley to it to further enhance it's flavor. Then, he slices the lemons he has squeezed into the butter, to add to the packets as well, knowing it will only make everything taste that much better. Finally everything is ready on his end. The fire has burned down to a nice bed of red coals, that he keeps going with a judicial addition of small branches broken off a nearby dead maple tree.

Tam asks him if he's cleaned them yet, knowing that Kero tends to forget that part when he is eager to chow off his catch. "Do it down by the river, if you haven't... that way ye can wash them and feed the smart ones so they grow to be big, old and slow..."
