"You're just... visiting her, right?" Vaati managed to tear his teeth away from his lips. Zaiz made him feel uneasy; was Opal going back to her father?

"I apologize Zathier, yes you're right. I am grateful beyond words for you saving my daughter... Please excuse me for not mentioning it before." He said placing Opal down.
"Papa, can I ask why you're here?" Opal asked as she looked egarly up at her father.
"Opal... you have many friends here. I under stand if you wish to stay here... but I would like to see you return home... soon..." Zaiz explained looking down at her.
"I will, but not right now." Opal said shaking her head.

Vaati started at the ground, and bit his lips even harder, drawing even more blood than the first time. "No..." Vaati whispered weakly.

Opal looked over as she suddenly turned and ran over and hugged Vaati. "I don't want to go home daddy! I want to stay here! With Vaati!" she shouted as she hugged him.

Vaati wasn't sure what to do but warp his arms around her to hug her back. It wasn't something he would do often, but he wanted to show Zaiz he cared about Opal. It was to make up for the fact he nearly ditched Opal and had to be dragged back home by Zathier.

"Opal is lucky... to have someone like you Vaati... I will continue to fulfill my promise... I won't let anyone who is a friend of Opal to be harmed." Zaiz said as he turned and vanished in the wind.
"C'mon Vaati, let's go home." Opal said as she smiled at him.

Vaati nodded and let go quickly. He turned away from Opal and spat the blood out of his mouth. A least his lips stopped bleeding. "Let's go. Want Ezlo back?" Vaati muttered, picking Ezlo off his shoulder.

"So Ezlo... I didn't mean to run off like that. Are you okay?" She asked taking Ezlo into her hands. She looked over at Zathier, seeing him feeling a little left out. She felt like she was ignoring people again. "C'mon Zathier, don't get left behind, or you'll get lost." Opal said to him, smiling softly.
