Raen shrugged as he shifted, fluidly leaning back straight before letting the guitar sway behind him. "I may be talented, but I only sound half decent without a back-up of some kind, and I'm about as charismatic as a drunken bowler," he murmured sheepishly with a slight shrug.

Mairi snorted slightly and replayed what she'd heard in her mind, keeping the connection in place. She let Raen hear himself through her mind, the music flowing easily "Music is only as good as you see, or hear, it.If you truly believe that you're only half decent, that's what it'll sound like to you.But judging by the reactions by everyone in the room, they believe otherwise, so do I."

Raen shrugged one shoulder, hearing it. It did give him a few ideas, though. "It looks to me like someone may be thinking of 'escorting' us around for a bit," he mused idly, noticing Michiru walking towards them. He sensed instinctively that using someone's name would be very different from the usual meaning, especially for him, though he knew that much of his abilities were still bound.

Mairi let the music die aray and turned her head slightly, seeing Michiru's aura and her mark, unaware of whatever idea's Raen was having "I don't see why.We haven't even been accepted yet." She stood carefully, letting Ginhana climb up onto her shoulders and lay across them.

Raen tilted his head with a slight smile. "My point exactly. It seems she may sense that we're different from the average people, though I don't know if she knows about her own past as Neptune's guardian yet," he murmured with a fractional shrug.

Mairi smiled slightly "Or she's just curios about you." She made a mental remind to find a music store to pick up a violin. If she was going to be taking music classes, she'd need one again.

Raen glanced towards Mairi, a slight chuckle escaping him. "Perhaps, though you know how I am socially... about as intelligent as a stump," he joked. He wasn't surprised when Michiru paused in front of both of them. Michiru looked thoughtfully at both of them. "Who is it who taught you?" she asked politely. Raen shrugged. "A duo by the name of 'Trial' and 'Error'," he deadpanned. Michiru laughed softly at his response, but looked mildly impressed.

Mairi shifted on her feet slightly, trying not to laugh "You're better with dealing with strangers than I am, and you're far smarter than a stump. You at least move out of the way when you see an ax coming." She kept quiet listening to the two talk and suddenly wished she'd worn jeans instead of the skirt. The figure leaned over the large pool, watching through Mairi's gift.Touching the surface of the water lightly with a staff very similar to the one sitting on the table back at the apartment, it watched as the surface rippled and rolled, letting out a tiny cackle of laughter when Mairi jerked in surprise, finally aware of it's presence.

Raen rolled his eyes, glancing at the floor to hide his amusement at Mairi's retort, though he sensed the pulse of ethereal energy when Mairi jerked slightly. Michiru looked over at Mairi with a concerned look. "Are you sure that you are okay?" she said with concern towards Mairi.
Kitai cocked her head, sensing the ethereal pulse of energy clearly. "I was starting to think the old man wouldn't show himself," she mumbled. "When we became what we are now, bonded to these two, hime, we gained knowledge. Not the precise specifics of fates of those around us, but vague sensory links useful for guidance," her partner said with mild amusement, chuckling as Kitai blushed crimson. They were partners and had been for centuries, watching each others' backs even after their physical bodies had long decayed to dust.

Mairi gave a quick smile of reassurance "Completely fine." That stunt the figure pulled nearly knocked her out, but certainly got her attention. She leaned back against the wall slightly gathering her bearing again. The figure now threw back it's hood and gazed into the pool.Obviously a man, though impossible to tell if he was young or old.He was the 'living' embodiment of the Tarot cards.Seventy-two personalities, hopes, dreams, gifts and expectations all rolled into one man who radiated a power that would rival Zeus himself. He cackled again and did a little dance. He'd been waiting for years for Mairi to hear him "The babe has grown and become a woman, yet she still acts a child."

Raen cocked an eyebrow, sensing the ethereal energy swirling faintly around Mairi though he didn't comment on them. "As I hear, you're talented with the violin," he said thoughtfully. He was mildly surprised when Michiru blushed slightly. "It was my grandfather who passed down his violin to me," she said thoughtfully, shifting the violin case in her hand. Raen's eyebrow twitched slightly, noticing the subtly weathered and used latches and handle as well as the script between the young woman's fingers. "It's rare to find that style of violin these days; I assume he got the Guarneri del Gesù from a collector?" he said idly. He saw her eyes widen in shock as if startled he'd identified the maker of the inherited violin.
Kitai snickered as Raen's true intelligence was revealing itself subtly.

Mairi smiled slightly "You realize I have the same type of violin at home, right?" She'd been lucky enough to find her's at a second hand store where the owner had no idea of the true value of the instrument he was selling. It was a one in a million chance and she'd grabbed it.The man grinned slightly, listening to the conversation, not all that surprised. He would speak with Mairi later, when she was away from prying eyes, and her friend as well if he so chose to join them.

Raen tilted his head, watching Mairi from the corner of his eye. "How else would I recognize it, Mai-chan?" he murmured teasingly. "I'm almost sure they'll accept you two, with your talents," she said thoughtfully. Michiru had noticed the subtle calluses on the pads of Mairi's fingers all too keenly since she saw them on her own hands every morning.

Mairi smiled slightly "Very true." Unconsciously, she rubbed the tips of her fingers "Him, maybe. But I've yet to prove I'm good enough to attend here." She missed the feel of her violin. To her it was worse than loosing her eyesight. It was like loosing an arm or leg.

"Trust me, I can tell you work hard, and it isn't as common as you might think," Michiru said with a chuckle, glancing towards Mairi's fingers. Raen wasn't surprised at Michiru's words and knew they were true, whether or not the blind woman realized it. "Blind physically, yet mentally and spiritually very clear-sighted," he mused, unintentionally murmuring the thought to Mairi.
