Lin, you'll probably have better luck asking here. I don't know enough about whiskey to help. I do know the difference between a "smooth" whiskey and a "sharp attack" though...

I probably would, Tsuj, but it seems pointless to make an account to just ask one question. I don't need to know what is the best -- just what people like other than Jack or Jameson. :3
Though, now looking at it, I might just have to stick with those two because those two are probably the most I'll get for the money I have for his birthday.

If it helps you at all, Lin, my cousin always gets my dad a huge thing of Crown Royal for Christmas.
Something Canadian is what he usually drinks, iirc.

There's no alcohol here at all, Tsuj. At least, no alcohol worth drinking.
Crown Royal seems to be a good whiskey, though a bit pricey as a 21st-birthday gift. I'd do it if I was splitting the gift.
I guess I could go grab the R2-D2 backpack instead from Thinkgeek.
