My first guess would be something to do with the chritian church...but I don't have any evidence to back it... however green is a color usually associated with fae (who can be fickle and snatch other people's stuff on occasion) and the church does like to demonize anything that isn't x-tian, so that is my off the cuff guess.

*shrugs* Avi envy is what caused me to actually start trying to get gold and encourage me to start messing with the economy of Gaia though the market place. IT can be a good thing
