Tyrese exhaled heavily, grabbing the ducky messenger bag and dressing his daughter with the clothes inside. He wrapped her in her blanket and put her on his shoulder, using once hand and some expert maneuvers to shimmy on a jacket of his own. He was still taking her to see Lillian, it was doubtful Sela would even wake up to fight him on it now. After his utter explosion he knew he was going to get an earful, and he wasn't unlikely to keep his daughter tonight without some heated discussion inbetween. He may as well get it out of the way.

Her limp body moved to the movements made to get her dressed. Barely making a sound, or even stirring, the tuckered toddler was stuck a few hours worth of hibernation to let her body recuperate; maybe even a day. Sela’s head fell back as she was picked up, dropping forward against his shoulder as she was pressed against it. It was doubtful even a bomb could wake her at this point. The full moons always took the most energy out of her because she could be in a completely normal, happy mood, and then suddenly she was being forced to shift. Humming softly, smacking her lips, a small hand came up to push hair out of her face, but she otherwise remained unmoving.

Hakem had just barely dropped Katelyn off at Fiesta, making sure she had food and even waiting until a cab came for her, when he got a phone call from his nephew. Well, not exactly his nephew; from an unidentified number that turned out to be Aubrey's home phone. The mute woman the same age as Tyrese was well on her way home, and he had his groceries to do just the same thing. However as the author's cracked and horse voice rasped to him over the recently answered phone, the man quickly realized something was wrong and he wasn't going to be home all too soon. Tyrese had been in an accident, and even with the forced humor of it being 'just a scratch,' he learned from Aubrey when Ty became too reluctant to admit what his uncle was beginning to see coming- he was in bad shape and would need some help at home for a while. How did that happen? Hakem raked his fingers through his hair, staring down at his shuffling feet. Bloody hell. He sighed to himself and ended the call once asking where he could find Tyrese's spare key. He was going to meet them there. He called his fiancé and let her know the situation as he pushed his way out the door and down the street.

Aubrey and her husband Finn didn't actually drop Ty off until late, leaving Hakem with a doped half awake wolf. Which was easier because dear God did this man look terrible! There was an offer for one of them sticking around, and as the teacher looked at their worried faces, he was sure he wouldn't have to tell them they could come back. For the time they got the injured wolf inside and put him on the couch while his uncle found an inflatable mattress and moved furniture aside to pump it up. The loud pump woke up the twenty-two year old, who was slurring something about wanting to go to work. Hakem could only raise a brow. That'd better be the medicine talking. Couldn't he just...no, Hakem already knew how frustrated his nephew was going to get being cooped up in the house. Letting Finn and Aubrey out for the night, he tried to persuade Ty to eat, with no success, before letting him sleep and rummaging through his fridge for a meal.

Tyrese had him up at midnight for a dose of several medications, snapping at his uncle who nearly overdosed him on more than he should be taking. How competent was he expected to be when he was up out of a dead sleep without coffee? The man growled and went for coffee, standing in the doorway with a brewing cup while Tyrese stared off into the darkness with a peculiar look on his face. Was he...okay? Hakem helped the man to the bathroom, and then helped him off the floor when he tried to go by himself. He was beginning to realize he might not be the man for this job. He felt the first twinge of frustration, lacking slightly on the sympathy, as Ty insisted on pushing him away. He wasn't going to get far that way, didn't he learn that after what he went through with his mother? Hakem sighed, letting Ty hobble back to bed on his crutches before retiring himself for the rest of the night.

Tyrese spent a day at the Teagans, quietly for the most part, between taking meds and sleeping or thinking to himself. He was doing a lot of the last, feeling sick at the smell of pancakes and almost anything else that was cooked. He didn't want to eat, but eventually let himself be persuaded to nibble a bit of fruit. He was already miserable on a couch all day so he didn't want to eat, even when he managed to sit up it was too much pain to maintain for more than a good half hour. He wasn't so willing to snap at his friends out of his frustration, hence his silence and relative reservation. Maybe eventually everyone stopped asking how he was feeling and just let him sulk to himself. When that was achieved he asked for paper, or a notebook more specifically, and a pen. That was when he got to writing, mostly things that were in his head, until his braced wrist was swelling. But he ignored that, turning one page to move to the next. Writing was a lot better of an outlet for him, it always had been. It was easier than talking ever was.

He scribbled until the light turned dull yellow and was replaced by an electrical light source, a thin layer of sweat on his brow as he slowed and then stopped soon after. Since he was hungry he accepted dinner, after beginning to refuse anything other than Oreos if they had them, before hearing himself and being less difficult. He was an a**, he knew it. He wasn't wanting anything else, but what did it look like for him to be so bratty when they were doing all they could to help? That was when Ty began craving his own home again. Not to get away from these two, but just to be out of everyone's way. He was tired and he really wanted to not exist on anyone's radar. It was uncomfortable to be worried over or hurting where everyone could see. Knowing it wasn't likely he'd simply be dropped on his doorstep and left alone, the wolf glanced at his dead cell phone before borrowing one of the Teagan's phones and dialing his uncle. No trying to rely on Lysander again. The wolf waited while the phone rang, picking at his hospital gown and feeling a little dirty. When was it okay to take a shower? He wasn't going to sit there in his underwear or less while someone gave him a sponge bath. Hell to the no, as a friend of his would say.

Hakem answered and Ty could sense the alarm as he tried to explain what he needed. Playing it down didn't work much, the writer could hear the frown in his uncle's voice. While he did have the right intention at heart, Ty got tongue tied when it came to asking for his family to show up and be his caretaker for the next...who knew how long. The fine details were in the packet he got from the hospital, which he hadn't read. He'd already dozed off and gotten up again to finish his writing, no way he sat there and read whatever was in that paperwork. He gave Aubrey the phone, since Hakem knew Aubrey, and let her do the explaining as he tried, again, to get to the bathroom. The good news when he got back was that he was going home tonight. Tyrese don't understand for himself why asking for help and being vulnerable in front of others, family included, was so difficult for him. For reasons he couldn't explain, he felt like he'd done something wrong when he asked for help. Seems he wasn't quite so over the mind set his mother pounded into him, although his willingness was a sign he'd come a long way since then.

They waited to take him home until he could take new medication, he was sore enough without needing to be stuffed into a car and driven over bumpy roads. So a little over an hour later he swallowed his prescribed dose and gave it a while to kick in before he tried getting his things. They were able to leave after that, though all the wolf recalled was being pulled out of the car again, and after a while, waking up at home with his uncle there. The offer to eat was refused and with his sour mood the man wanted to do things on his own. His uncle didn't know where everything was, his throat was hurting and there was no room to try and explain every little detail for his specifics. Trying to do it on his own resulted in a good fall- not a particularly hard fall but enough to have him debilitated and enraged for a while. He just didn't get why his life was such a shitstorm. Because of Lillian?! He couldn't believe that, not that much of his life was predicated on her.

Hakem was getting frustrated and Tyrese knew it, shooing his uncle away from his medicine in the middle of the night and receding back into his thoughts until he dozed off. He was up mid morning and for once, hungry. Then again, being home was a good choice, he knew that. He needed to eat if he wanted to get better. He made it in the bathroom, getting help to get out again, before attempting a more pleasant mood and asking for curry. His uncle could do that, right? The wolf knew the teacher was a terrible cook, or hadn't learned to cook that is. Tyrese was better off eating fried acorns and sticks for breakfast. However, he let the man try while he did more writing, his lips pulled into a thin line.

Demon ║ 22 ║ $905 ║ Saisons Manager ║ Finally Seeing Him

Not feeling like listening to Lysander’s love affair criticize her and once again, tell her how much she screwed up everyone’s lives, Lillian retreated to the safety of the guest room for the rest of her day. She was anxiously waiting until Ty was brought back home, not knowing where he was. She didn’t bother calling him though because of the fact that he didn’t want to talk to her anymore, still, she wouldn’t just sit idly by as he was hurt! No matter what she did, how much she screwed up, or how mad he was at her, she loved him. Seeing him hurt...That was the second worst thing in the world to her; the first being losing her family. For a while, even as she heard Rina shouting about Jason downstairs, Lillian couldn’t stop the tears that rolled down her cheeks. All she felt was immeasurable shame. The longer she sat in silence and thought on all the looks, all the names she’s been called, all the guilt, she wanted nothing more than just to end it all and let everyone live their lives without her. The only one who would mourn her would be Sela, everyone else hated her beyond reason and didn’t want to forgive her. She didn’t even want to forgive her! Maybe she should just give up her paternal rights and let Ty take Sela, since he seems to think she’s a terrible mother too. The blonde sulked on the bed most of the day until there was nothing left for her to cry about. Her body was wracked with pain and her eyes were burning and dry, no longer able to produce tears. Taking in a deep and trembling breath, the slightly disoriented blonde looked around the room as she swallowed the painful lump in her throat.

With slow and shaking hands, she grabbed for her notebook and pen while scooting back along the bed to rest her back against the pillows. Bringing her knees up, she propped her notebook against her thighs and turned on her phone app to work beats while she allowed all feelings to flow onto the paper in the form of song lyrics. She really did have to thank Dillon for all that he did in helping her learn how to properly write music. Now all she needed to do was go to a studio and work on turning them into actual recordings. Maybe Lysander knew someone...He was pretty well connected despite his horrendous personality. She was too, but not as much as him; she had a child to raise rather than make connections. When she heard the front door close, she finally came back out of her room and slowly made her way back out into the kitchen to get something to drink and wait for Lysander to get back home from dropping Rina off, unless she walked home. Seeing him again, Lillian awkwardly struck up a conversation with him, barely making eye contact as she asked about him possibly knowing any recording studios that she could use to produce her music. She didn’t even care if she became a big name hit, or a small time wonder, she just wanted to get her music out there and share it with everyone; and she did mean everyone.

Luckily for her, he said he’d ask one of his buddies about getting her a little time in his studio. After that, Lillian spent the rest of her day up in the room writing and working on creating beats the best she could, well into the morning of the next day. It was almost impossible for her to sleep anyways. It was only when she heard Lysander mention seeing a few cars at Ty’s house that she scrambled out of her room and nearly slammed her face against the window to watch the car pull up. Garnet, and ruby, eyes widened when they saw the condition of the battered wolf as he was helped out of the car. A hand slowly came up and covered her lips as Lillian suppressed a gasp of surprise at seeing his condition. When his front door finally closed, she whirled around and ran back up to her room where she quickly got ready for her day. Showering and dressing, she covered up the bruises on her exposed skin before working on her breathing exercises and taking her medications. Lucky for her, her legs weren’t broken, just her upper body. It was still hard to move around, but not as much so if she had a broken leg. Making sure she had her things with her, she rushed out Lysander’s door when she was finished getting ready and grimaced as she made her way over to his house as quickly as she could, touching a hand against her torso in the process. Walking up to his front door, she quickly knocked on the front door, wondering if there was still anyone there or if she’d have to let herself in. Either way, she’d come in no matter what; she’d been waiting for him to come home for two days now!

Hakem was up before his nephew to let in a house guest, one whom had clothes from home for him. He let her in, and snuck her upstairs while his nephew was asleep. Tyrese wouldn't mind, especially knowing it could save his life to not just have Hakem there: his nursing skills were why he never wanted children: taking care of things just wasn't his forte (the misses took care of Melody almost completely on her own.) While he was up he made oatmeal, because he wasn't such a dope that he couldn't boil a bit of milk, and sliced a banana over three bowels for three people. Tyrese was out cold, not even flinching as Hakem tried to wake him. Okay then! The wolf had his while watching tv and sipping coffee, the lifetime movie network chiming away on the television. Don't judge him. That was his early morning besides looking over Ty's medical papers and checking the mail, from which he borrowed the news paper to go job hunting. Ah, he wished he could teach in the next town over, but that'd be a pain to drive everyday. Perhaps he could teach online? Or maybe take the easy route and he a music instructor in town, it depended on the interest. If worse came to worse then he'd get whatever he could.

His attention was called by his nephew downstairs, whom had gotten himself to the bathroom but couldn't get himself out. Stubborn! Shaking his head, Hakem walked down to the first floor and helped the injured wolf back to the air mattress. He made sure he was okay to sit up on his own, and offered the oatmeal before the worst thing happened. Ty was making a request. Cook curry? Hakem twitched a skeptic brow as he placed his hands on his hips and looked down his nose at his nephew. "Sure..." he breathed out slowly, dropping his hands and shuffling off. As Ty told him to follow the recipe, Hakem gave an impartial c**k of his head and began rummaging for ingredients. He was dumping things into a pan, quite delicately, he thought, when it began to smell like it just wasn't cooking right...He was jiggling the control for the burner when a knock came at the door, his ears tuned to the sound as he wiped one hand on his apron and poked his head into the front room. Ty was staring at the door, looking pained after trying to get up himself. Alas, the mattress was too low the ground. Hakem pranced forward and got it instead, the pan still in his hand as the opposite reared the door into an open position. Uh...did he know this face? It was..."G'morning."

Pressing her ear to the door, she could hear people shuffling around and the occasional groan from, who she could assume, Ty. Geeze, he really did sound hurt. One would think that his healing ability would have kicked in right away and started mending his wounds. Then again, she didn’t know the extent of his injuries because no one told her! Lillian only took a step back from the door when she heard someone coming closer. A somewhat surprised expression came to the blonde’s face when she was met face to face with Ty’s uncle, Hakem. She remembered him from school, even though they had never really interacted; she had a somewhat good memory, especially when it came to Ty. She had planned on spending the rest of her life with him, she needed to know his family if they, were, going to be apart of hers too. Now they never would, but that didn’t mean she forgot about them. “Hakem…?” she questioned with a small c**k of her head. What was he even doing here? Seriously, she thought he still lived back in Calico. Wasn’t teaching like his dream job or something? That wasn’t important! He was probably here to check on him. Blinking rapidly, she shook her head, “Uh, sorry! It’s me, Lillian, good morning. I-uh...I heard Ty was hurt and I came to check on him....” Her words trailed off as she looked towards the pan in his hand and the odd smell seeming to come from it. Still as bad a cook as ever she could see.

Creasing her brow as she looked at the pan, her garnet eyes slowly drifted back over to the older wolf as she licked her lips. “Can I come in?” she asked, her gaze shifting between him and the pan. Really! It was just bothering her for some reason. Maybe it had to do with the fact that she knew how to cook now, but the smell was almost unbearable! How, as a wolf, was he able to stand it. It wasn’t horrendous or anything, but it was obviously made wrong. Without even thinking about it, she stretched out her hand and dipped the tip of her pinky into the mixture, licking off what she assumed was supposed to be curry from the…- Lillian snorted and made a displeasing face as the taste coated her palette. Ick! “Thaaaaaaaat’s all wrong,” she said as she slipped past him and dropped her stuff by the door. “Did you read the recipe he gave you, I know Ty gave you a recipe to follow. He used to do the same thing to me all the time.” Quickly she made her way through towards the living room, expecting to go up to his room and see him, figuring he was resting there but she was caught by the sight of him out of the corner of her eye in the living room. “Ty!” she gasped as she rushed to his side and practically threw herself on him, momentarily forgetting he was injured.

Tyrese already knew something was going wrong from the clatter of his dishes being handled more roughly then he thought was needed. What was Hakem doing exactly? Useless brute. Honestly, he swears his uncle has no finesse or grace. As smart and talented as he was, gentleness did not come easy; his name should be ogre instead of Hakem. The man sighed, feeling a pang in his side the longer he stayed sitting up. He was feeling groggy from the medicine still, looking for something in arm's reach to keep him preoccupied and finding nothing but his medicine and a glass of water. Where'd he put his journal that quick? The wolf chewed his lip when he spotted it at the foot of the couch, wondering if he could really get that low down with a cast on his leg. Before he could make up his mind, the smell of burned food reached his nose. What the hell?! "Hakem!" Tyrese snapped, met with silence and more banging pans. The recipe wasn't hard! It wasn't! Ugh! That's what he deserves for letting that teacher of all people in his kitchen. Was he cooking on the hugest heat setting? How could something be burning that soon? It was a slow cooking recipe! Ty smacked his palm into his forehead, grimacing in pain and grumbling that his uncle was fortunate his nephew was stuck in this bloody bed.

Tyrese looked up as a knocking came from his door, blinking over to the textured surface with a curious look. Which was it: Finn, Aubrey, or both? Or maybe even Lysander coming to chew him out. Ty looked both ways for a stable surface to get him up, pushing against the couch behind him before he nearly toppled out of bed. The sudden countering jerk to keep his balance sent a shock through several clusters of nerves, earning a stifled grown through clenched jaws. He was adjusting himself hack in bed when his uncle scrambled to the door with a smoking pan full of stink, to which Tyrese was immune as he held his side until the pain passed. It left almost unstantly when Lillian's voice felled from behind the threshold, Tyrese's eyes snapping open in alarm. Oh no, no no no! "Hakem...Hakem!" He said it twice while they made conversation. When he had his uncle's attention, he quickly shook his head. "Is Sela with her?" She wasn't allowed inside with his daughter with her. He hadn't called her, he wasn't ready to; he didn't know what she was doing here without telling him first. He glanced at his dead phone before the blonde was bombarding her way inside and half way across the room. His eyes followed as he tried to sit up more, "Lillia-" In an instant she was on top of him, throwing him back the few inches he'd been inclined and flattening him on the air mattress. He hissed, then choked on his breath as his eyes squeezed shut, his good arm pinching the bridge of his nose. I-It hurt. He grunted a long breath, unable to even form words as he patted her shoulder. 'Off, now.' He exhaled slowly and shakily, a few tears sticking to his eye lashes as everything throbbed, the sound clogging his ears as his hand held a fistful of his hair. Here he thought his uncle was a brute, he forgot about his ex. What was she even doing here? And without Sela?

Being so close to him, she could hear the pained grunt and quickly scrambled her way off him, her own tears clinging to her lashes as she looked down at him. “I-I’m sorry…” she whimpered softly as she quickly wiped them away. Looking him over, she reached out and gently passed her fingers over various injuries before she looked up to meet his eyes again. Her gaze faltered a little as she pressed her palm against his cheek. She hadn’t seen him this hurt since Lysander attacked him back in high school. “Lysander told me,” she said, answering the question that was probably on his mind about how she knew since no one had bothered with her. Quickly forgetting about Hakem, she looked him over once again, beginning to fuss over him just a bit. “My god! What happened to you? I’ve been so worried about you, I even slept on your front porch waiting for you to come home.” Slowly moving her hand to the fist that currently had hold of his hair, she took hold of it and calmly began to try and uncurl his fingers so he wouldn’t pull out clumps of hair. “But, I figured if you weren’t with Lysi, or still at the hospital, that- your friends would have taken you to their house. I also know they wouldn’t like seeing me so I ended up spending the night at my brother’s waiting for you, so I could check on you,” she added as she gave him a small, sympathetic smile.

With a soft sigh, she sat back on her legs with a small grimace from her fractured ribs and just plain sore body. “Don’t worry, Sela’s with Sinclair,” she said, answering another question that was sure to be on his mind. “I know...Ugh, I know you don’t want to see or talk to me anymore, but I didn’t want to freak Sela out right away and wanted to check on you first before bringing her by.” Most of that was true. She really didn’t want to freak out her daughter with the sight of her practically destroyed father, and wanted to see him first before trying to ease the toddler into visiting him. Later tonight, she would call Sinclar and talk to Sela to let her know what was happening because she was sure to be confused right now. “Anyways!” she said as she slapped her hands against her thighs and pushed herself, slowly, back up to her feet. “No need to talk about this right now.” Giving him a slightly brighter smile, she turned and made her way towards Hakem. “Hey Hakem, I’ll take over for you if you want. I took time off work to be able to help him and...I can definitely cook better than you, no offense.” There was a soft chuckle as she made fun of his terrible cooking skills.

Tyrese was...confused and disoriented about the blonde being so fussy over him. The last time she saw him she punched him in the face and walked away after saying quite a lot of things, as he too had done. So while he could now question why she was doing all of this after three weeks of nothing that could prove her feelings to him, the Lillian he used to know would be doing just this. That is, getting in his face with worry despite whatever discrepancies they might have had. However, he felt this was uncalled for- out of place. He pushed her hand away from touching him, feeling bleeding spots on his side and wanting to stop her caressing. He didn't feel that kind of intimacy with her anymore, that connection was dead and invasive of his emotions; after everything that they went through, of course he felt that way. His trust was still shattered, he'd been convinced after the start of this week that she stopped loving him. So seeing this was throwing him through a loop. What was she playing at? Yet, for a while he didn't say anything; at first because she answered his questions before he could even ask, then after that because he didn't know what to say. What was he supposed to call this right now? That was right, he told her he didn't want to see her. Damn Lysander opening his big mouth.

He opened his hand at her first urging, rubbing his hand down his face and staring into his lap. Why was she pretending nothing was wrong? Tyrese looked at her when she said she took days off to be here and help him. What? The man made eye contact with his uncle, who seemed curious if he should be showing the blonde out. Right now, Tyrese didn't see why not. His brows furrowed as he glared back into his lap with stifled frustration. "Lillian, what are you doing? Our last conversation wasn't about who's favorite color was better. We can't pretend everything's okay, because it's not. We're over..." He paused to look over at her where she was bugging his uncle, his braced hand clutching at the cloth of the sling on his arm. His cheek still felt warm where she pressed her palm. "I get that you're worried, I can't deny that I'd do the same for you in any other outcome. But, this isn't our life anymore. You don't want me, you made that clear. And in all honesty, I don't see what would make you come here if that's the case."

Hakem was good with names and faces, he was good with most things that required memorization; most things, unlike cooking. But his point was Lillian was not a familiar face, as the woman stuttered her name and mentioned Tyrese. By happenstance he hadn't gotten to meet her, Ty didn't bring his girlfriend around him five years ago, one Christmas Ty and Lillian spent separately, the next Christmas Hakem spent with Victoria. Then graduation where the teens were separated. Other holidays Hakem and Ty were always in seperate places. Or maybe he had met her, just once, then never again given Ty's habit of expecting them to spend all their time alone. He was always wiping Lillian off someplace, like a hoarder, and Hakem could only image to do what with their raging hormones at the time. But as he blinked at her face he did remember Lysander, whom she looked a lot alike. Which made it click who she was, all thanks to his trip to the bar with Tyrese where they got to catch up with Aubrey. He learned all about her then, and not in the good sense. By the time Ty got his attention and asked if Sela was here, Hakem made the connection that this blonde was Ty's baby mama and high school sweetheart.

He glanced over his shoulder at Tyrese, snapping his gaze back to Lillian as she dipped her fingers in her pan. Must not be scolding hot anymore. "Oi! Don't judge me, he asked me to cook it." He replied with a shrug and a coy smirk, not at all like this food was a death trap. It was going to be thrown away, surely. She ducked under him and he turned to eye her with no hint of appreciation for it. She wasn't invited in, he knew some of what was going on and wasn't risking letting her through the door without asking Ty first. "Bloody hell, just cook it then. He's going to stave if I do it." He complained lazily, hesitantly closing the door as she collapsed on his nephew. The teacher flinched at the look on Tyrese's face. Ouch.

Hakem crossed to the kitchen and placed the pan on the stove, after turning off the burner and taking off his apron. He returned to lean in the doorway of the kitchen, catching the younger wolf's eye as Lillian inspected the injured man. He could see the frustration coming to a climax in the bed ridden bluenet. He waited for a hint to get rid of her, though he'd rather stay uninvolved. Among his siblings he was laid back, like Aaron, but unlike Aaron Hakem despised getting and giving advice. It was his loner personality and his dislike for any kind of authority, if he didn't want to be told what to do he didn't want to be in charge of too many other people either. Being a teacher was his exception, he utilized his authority because he still expected to be treated with respect. With everything else? He said nothing. They had to lead their lives, he didn't live with them every moment of the day to know what was best for them; so they had to decide. He'd taught students to give them more options, specifically more choices then ending up on the streets like he had. Nibbling his lip, Hakem waited on Tyrese, a new cup of coffee in his left hand.

Turning back to him, a rather neutral look on her face, Lillian slowly pursed her lips as she shifted her weight to one leg. “Yeah, ya know, I’m pretty sure I know we are,” she said as she scoffed in what almost seemed like amusement. “I mean, between you, your friends, and my brother calling me a whore, slut, b***h, giving me those hateful judgey eyes, and thinking I’m not only the worst mother in the world but an even worse person, I’m preeeeeeetty damn sure I got it.” Slowly curling her bottom lip inward, she ran her tongue along the skin before chewing off some loose skin. Lillian shrugged before walking back towards the door and grabbing her things and coming back to him. The blonde stared down at him from his air mattress, very thankful for her medication at this point. She was still adjusting to it, but it was already helping her deal with keeping most of her emotions in check, plus, her pain meds also helped. She was high enough at this particular moment not to really care about what he said to her, or well, not to start suddenly freaking out like she had been doing the last couple of times.

Moving towards the table, Lillian grabbed hold of the edge, she slowly, very slowly, crouched down towards him. Reaching out towards him, she flicked his forehead -mostly because slapping him would have hurt far more than normal. “Still as pigheaded as always, I swear. I do want you. I still love you. I still want that life together we always talked about. And the reason I’m here…” Lillian paused as she sighed through her nose, pushing her lips to one side as her eyes swept over him. “Do I really need any other reason other than because I care about you?” She did give up a date to be with him, granted, he had never come home so she could have gone on it, but she chose to wait all night for him anyways. In fact, she would need to apologize to Jason for that. As she got up her eyes caught sight of the used notebook at the foot of the couch and reached for it in the same motion she used to stand. Lillian leaned over and kissed his temple before making her way back towards Hakem, her overnight bag slung over her shoulder and hiding the notebook from the wolves eyes. “Don’t worry about it, I’ll cook it for him. Just enjoy your coffee,” she told him before turning tail and making her way up the three flights of stairs to the guest room. Whether he liked it or not, she was staying to help and not even his uncle would be able to get her to leave. Reaching the guest room, she closed the door softly before doubling over in pain from her earlier tackle of her ex. Dear god! That hurt her ribs and back more than she realized. Dropping her bag beside her feet, she leaned against the door as she took a few deep breaths until the pain subsided. When it was dulled enough that she felt she could move, she shuffled away from the door and dropped down onto the bed as she pulled the notebook into her lap. Ty would surely be mad at her for taking it, but her curiosity had always been a problem when it came to his writing; especially after reading his Red Thorn series. Or, well, just in general really. Smoothing her fingers over the cover, she opened the notebook and began reading to pass the time while her pain was still pulsating against her nerves.

Tyrese wasn't in the mood to argue, but he couldn't help but want to hiss a retort to everything she thought of saying to him. He always seemed to be forgetting how pretentiously mulish she was whenever they argued, she set her mind on something and no matter how much he raged and ranted she never budged or listened. It was driving him insane, always had. His eyes narrowed as she expressed knowing she was unwelcome, "Then leave." he growled. When exactly did his friends get to call her a whore a slut and a b***h? Good for them! He wasn't sure they'd got the chance to run into her and heartlessly mock her yet, since apparently that's what everyone was doing. Even her brother did. What he was really saying was, like hell he cared what his friends thought of her, she almost killed their child! The man flailed his one good arm in frustration, "Well Lillian, have you approached them and tried to make things right? You couldn't have since you just got back. You can't just apologize and wait for the wind to blow it over. Everything you're doing doesn't prove what you've been saying. They're only calling these things how they see them."

Having her stand over him and shrug didn't stop his glare, even as she crouched down where his pills were with that neutral expression on her face. He wasn't stupid, he could see when she was hiding her reaction or cutting herself off from being affected by his words. Being stoic wasn't going to help her here, especially when she was using it to ignore him and stay despite him wanting her gone. He tossed his head to one side when she reached to flick his brow, his eyes flashing that much more. This was their problem before, she was always forcing her way in or pushing her way around! It pissed him off! He was smoldering as she spoke again, having the wolf's blood boiling as he clenched his fist. Rather than spit some other poisonous retort, he ground his jaw and averted his gaze. Even as she got her things and went the opposite way of the door, he drummed his fingers along one thigh and flared into the empty space. As soon as she was gone he threw whatever was in reach- nothing more than a pillow.
