I am Hope, Talesian....but with the power of Hope, which looks to the future, comes the wisdom of preparation. No matter if I survive the first of the two final battles, I will be bound under the earth, fast asleep within a giant Opal, as will all twelve of us...and unlike the others, Fortuny and I chose to have children...so I must think of those things...for when I'm not there....mustn't I?

Though, as we both know, the first battle will not be the final one....our prophecies describe two battles....and while in the first, Honorian, Safirea, and I lead the charge...in the second, when we are destined, supposedly, to slay the dark one, we are led by a child "Who shines with light, His stone a gleaming sun"....and as we both know, that ain't Kero...his stone is most certainly not a sun...

Tam chuckles. "Heaven forbid... You'll meet the child... never you fear... but remember this, Hope. prophecies have a way of weighing individuals down... rarely are they as clear as all that... and even when they do seem to be crystalline in nature... once the events come to pass, people see that they were only 20/20 in hindsight.... nothing more. They are warnings, sent to keep you prepared... Indeed you will most likely go to battle... indeed you will face the one whose name even I dare not speak... but should ye defeat him... nay... when you defeat him... me thinks the sleep will be more of a healing than a binding... and we both know what that might mean."

I interpret it as both....as I would wager whatever world we battle on will be razed...we will be giving our energies to the world, healing it...what do you interpret it as...because it also mentions we will be scattered...across all the realms...

I think you misunderstand me....we are going to be bound between the two fights, not after the final one...most think it's to await the awakening of the last child...the sunstone's child, we call him...or her.

Do you have written copies of these prophecies that I can study. I know only what you and Kero have spoken to me about them. That and the legends and prophecies of countless wise men of the past. Did you know that among my brethren we have prophecies as well... as to how life as you and I know it will cease and begin anew?"

Lunaria made these prophecies, Tam...and no one was on hand to write them down...we know only what we gleaned from her words...and the thought among us is simple...we will not be bound as if in chains, but in slumber, to be awakened by the thirteenth child...the thing is, we do not know...and as the battle should not take place for a while yet, we should be good.

Tam nods sadly. "I pray you are mistaken... though I fear it does lie along the same paths as several other legends I have heard in my travels. I'll try to find them... I tend to write down any and all legends, especially if I think they might make a fine tune some day. Then you can take them to her and see if they help jar a bit of recollection out of her."

Tam nods and gathers up his carving once more, checking it for damage and brushing off a bit of leaf mold. "Most of the tales I know though are far from pretty and involve a hunt for the child, by the other twelve... who are believed to be cursed until they find him or her as the case may be." He sighs and digs about for his pocket knife, finding it the hard way. "Ouch... dang it... it had to fall blad up didn't it?" Sucking on the tiny cut he grows thoughtful. "Hope, can I speak with Lunaria sometime?"
