Tyrese nodded, missing or maybe overlooking the butler's hint at a more intimate inquiry. "Quite alright, thank you." He was too busy making way for the toddler, feeling rain get at him before he shifted back into the doorway of his home. "Yeah. Thanks, by the way." He knew Sela would be excited to see him at the door, so she could talk his ear off on the way home to her mother. Who, he didn't expect to be here.
Making sure Lillian got to the sidewalk before Sela got to the street, Ty furrowed his brows as he looked down at the box being held out to him. He paused, then shook his head. "It doesn't feel appropriate to accept." His birthday was weeks ago, sometime during the two weeks before he was told of the blonde's infidelity. He'd done nothing more than accept happy birthday texts and emails, no gifts had been sent. Turning away, Ty quietly excused himself to grab an umbrella and his other things, planning to leave immediately. He had to go and delay the opening ceremony, male sure everything was arranged in order. Returning to the door, he pulled it shut as he stepped out into the rain, pressing the button to start his car where it sat in the drive way.

Sinclair’s brow curved inward slightly at the man’s reluctance at accepting the gift. It must have something to do with their current standing. The older man only surmise that Tyrese was still angry with her; which was fairly understandable. However, the gift had nothing to do with either of these current events which is what made the man confused. It had been a legitimate gift for his birthday. But, if he didn’t want to accept it, then he wasn’t going to force him. In fact, Lillian wasn’t even aware that he had brought it with him. She must have completely forgotten about it all together. Placing the small package back into his pocket, he moved out of the man’s way as he made his way out the door.
Descending the pathway, moving towards the two girls getting soaked by the rain, he stopped just shy of the grass and turned. “Mister Havens, I was informed of a business opening on your part. Perhaps, if you’d be up for it, while I’m here we could celebrate the proper, English, way,” he suggested, harboring no ill will towards the bluenette. He had no reason to dislike the man one bit. Tyrese had never done him any personal wrongdoing so there was no reason he couldn’t maintain the slightest of friendships with him. Whether or not the bond between he and Lillian was ever mended, he was apart of the family; though not to the extent that Sinclair had to wait on him like he did the twins. Walking towards the pair, he held the umbrella over them and gently touched Lillian’s shoulder to get her attention. “The two of you will catch your death out here. We must get going,” he whispered to the blonde.
When Lillian felt a touch to her shoulder, she looked up to Sinclair, sniffling. She had missed her baby so much. Nodding silently to his urging, she grabbed his hand and hoisted herself up, keeping Sela locked within her other arm. It was going to take forever to heal if she kept throwing herself around like this. She’d wait to tear her brother a new one until after she wasn’t popping the stitches out of her back. “Come on Little Rock, I got a special surprise for you,” she told the wet little girl as she nuzzled her nose against hers. Sela giggled softly at the affectionate gesture and looked up at her as she straightened herself. “What is it mommy?” she asked excitedly. More surprises?! Her birthday wasn’t just yet, but who was she to turn down any kind of present? “Oh, wait…”
Sela dropped out of her mother’s grasp and ran back towards her departing father. “Daddy wait!” she called as loudly as she could so he wouldn’t leave her behind again like he had before. Just inches from him, she lept into his arms from her running start. Clinging to him tightly, she nuzzled her damp head against his shoulder. “I love you daddy,” she whispered in his ear before kissing his cheek. She was going to miss him, but she’d get to see him again for her birthday right? And, it’s not like they were leaving forever! Still, she had enjoyed her time with her daddy and would miss him all the same. Maybe her mommy would let her stay over again soon. She didn’t want to be away from him too long, he might forget who she was! She couldn’t have that. No way. No how.
Lillian stood beside Sinclair, still clutching his hand as her legs trembled, wanting to give out. Hopefully the feeling would pass before she got to work. There she’d have to put her real game face on and deal with employees and customers. The very idea made her want to bang her head against a wall, but she had to make money somehow now that she wasn’t going to be working with her brother anymore. Chewing lightly on her lip, she watched the two with a soft expression, like it was a precious sight for her to see. It was, no matter what she and Ty were going through. And maybe it was her painkillers, or her antidepressants, or perhaps a mixture of both, but she felt rather fantastic at the moment. Yeah, she was in a little pain, but mentally and emotionally, she was perfectly fine.

Tyrese was angry, yes. But to not accept the gift, was for his own reasons. He didn't want another reminder, one more silk thread tying him to what he couldn't mend anymore. After what he did with Lysander, he didn't feel deserving of a memento from the true love of his life. Nothing was just a gift from her. So, he didn't want it. He didn't want her in sight right now in arms reach when he broke down. It was a good thing he had things to do. He walked to his car, opening the door and sitting to reach around and toss his umbrella in back. He paused before doing so, smiling for a heartbeat or two. "Sure, Sinclair. Stop by anytime you see fit." Why reject good will? Getting into the driver's seat, he lifted his foot to shift the rest of the way in and shut the door, stopping when Sela got his attention. He threw the door back open, catching his child and squeezing her back. He smiled, peppering kisses all over her face. "I love you more, Miss Lady." And he hugged her again, laughing lightly when he noticed her shoes on the wrong feet. Placing her on his lap, he swapped them and put her down. "Try to call daddy every single day, okay sweetie? You can come over whenever you want, if mom can't bring you then I'll come get you myself. Be a good girl, my beloved." He reminded, then directed her to her mother again. Waiting until Sela had Lillian's hand, he closed his car and drove off. He felt like he might cry, dammit all.

Sinclair gave a satisfied nod in knowing that he was welcomed back anytime. Of course, being the man that he was, he wouldn’t just show up unannounced. The proper thing to do was call ahead and arrange a time and place, and that was exactly what he’d do. It was actually rather refreshing to know another someone from his home. He’d been away from it for so many centuries that homesick wasn’t a word that could even begin to describe how he felt. He found it simply astonishing that Lillian had found herself an Englishman to fall in love with. Out of all the students she could find at the strange school, she found the one that hailed from his country, fell in love with him and had a child. Sure, they weren’t married like he had been with his own wife, but it was all relative.
Once the child was with them again, he ushered both women to the car, opening the door for the young girl to climb into and holding the umbrella over Lillian’s head as she strapped her into her carseat. After Lillian had closed the door, he opened the passenger door for her and helped her into her seat slowly. Walking back around the car, he got into the driver’s seat and started the car, pulling out of the neighborhood to take both girls to work while he worked on their house.
Sela giggled and squealed softly as her face was assaulted with kisses. As she was hugged a second time and hoisted into his lap, she shook her head. Tilting her head back to look up at him, she watched him concentrate on fixing her shoes. “Not possible daddy,” she replied firmly. There was simply no way he could love her anymore than she loved him. He took care of her, protected her, loved her; she was aware of that much. She loved him for all those things he did for her and more! Being set down, she turned and looked up at him, teetering on her feet a little. She didn’t want him to go. She wanted to stay with him a little longer, but she missed her mommy too. She was just so torn! Why couldn’t they just be one family? That way she never had to choose between them and could see them both as much as she wanted! “Okay daddy!” she nodded with a small smile.
Looking over her shoulder at him as she walked back towards her mother, she grabbed onto her leg and rested her head against her thigh as she watched him leave. Her big crimson eyes watered and she sniffled softly. Lillian let go of Sinclair’s hand and forced herself to pick up her suddenly distraught daughter. “Oh sweetie, what’s wrong?” she asked as she wiped tears away from the toddler’s face. Sela sniffled again and dropped her head against Lillian’s shoulder. “I miss daddy already,” she cried, hugging her mother’s neck tightly. Following Sinclair to the car, she rubbed her daughter’s back softly. “I know sweetie. I know. I miss him too,” she whispered. “But don’t worry Sela, you’ll see him again tomorrow. Mommy will take you to his grand opening tomorrow, alright? We can all celebrate together.” Lillian smiled down at her still sniffling child, buckling her into her seat and wiping the remaining tears away.
Sela nodded slowly. “Alright mommy…” Leaning forward, the blonde kissed her daughter’s forehead. “Thatta girl~” she encouraged as she brushed her fingertips along her forehead, down her cheek and across her chin. Closing the door, she climbed into the passenger’s seat and stared out the window as she felt the car start and move.

Sela snorted as she accidentally inhaled some water from the ground. Stopping a moment to shake herself out, she looked up to see big buildings and porch lights. To her, everything looked big, but this place was different. There was almost no activity on the streets and she could smell two distinct smells that were familiar to her. Running across well manicured lawns and past pricey cars, the pup made it to the house she wanted to stop at. Looking up at the outside of the house, she couldn’t see any lights on. Cantering up to the porch, she stood on her hind legs and scratched at the door, whimpering and whining to try and get the attention of the person inside. When no answer came, she dropped down into a sitting position and just stared up at the door for a few long seconds. Another whimper left her throat before she curled up next to the door, trying to stay dry.

Was she seriously at home this whole time?! No one could possibly know how much of a relief that was, his daughter had found somewhere safe to stay. Tyrese tripped as he rounded the corner, finally away from screaming people and the occasional siren. Honestly, it was a hassle but he was the one who totally lost it. His eyes still glowed, the deep blue that was so recognizable almost gone. He felt like he was surrounded on all sides by a whirl wind, feeling as if part of his mind was going black. If it wasn't for the instinct to find Sela...The wolf shook out his fur, looking up at Lysander's home as he passed by. He felt an added sting of anger as fuzzy clips of drunken memory came to him. Why did he ever believe Lysander? He was just covering for his twin. But Ty wasn't going down that road ever again.
Fur clinging against his ribs, which heaved with a heavy sigh, Ty broke into a run again as he spotted a small white wolf on his porch. "Sela!" We were looking everywhere for you, you had us worried sick!" He tipped, pushing his muzzle against her side to check her temperature. She was freezing! The wolf licked her head, yellow orbs flickering to his door before he picked the pup up by her scruff. He didn't know if she'd get startled and try to run away, keeping her paws off the ground as he padded to the back yard and jumped the fence. He was able to paw the door open from here, kicking it closed and lowering his pup to the floor.

Sela whimpered softly as a gust of wind blew by, blowing rain into her face. Pushing herself up against the wood, she tried to stay as dry as she possibly could, shivering from her cold, wet fur, but it was useless. There wasn’t much covering on the porch and the rain was coming down too hard for anything to really keep her dry. She had wanted to go outside, to escape, but now she just wanted to go home. The pup had no energy to get up and try to find her way to her parents though, she was just too cold. Huffing a short breath through her snout, her ears shot up. Opening her bright yellow eyes, she slowly brought her head up and looked down the street as if she expected to see something. She could...Feel something close by. There wasn’t a way she knew how to describe it, but it felt like she knew what was coming. Something familiar. Something strong. Something like...An alpha maybe?
Slowly pushing herself up into a sitting position, her small body shivered to the cold as fur clung to her, ears still at attention and searching for something. Huddled inwards, she shifted her gaze when she heard someone call to her. “Daddy…?” she whined as she fell slightly as his muzzle pushed against her side. Picking herself back up, she reached out and nuzzled him after his tongue passed over her fur and before being picked up. Sela recognized him, but at the same time she didn’t. It was a contradicting feeling that confused the pup, who was just too sluggish from the cold to try and get away. Her eyes slowly closed, opening slightly when she felt a change in texture beneath her paws. Once again her small body shivered, yipping softly as her head lulled against his floor.

Tyrese stood frozen, ears erect as he stared at the wall in a stupor. He was slow to snap out of it, hearing whimpering from his pup before beginning to nudge her to her paws. Stretching her out and getting her muscles to generate some heat, he made her walk further into the living room and in front of the fire place. Once she settled again, he leaned on two paws and turned the gas ignition on, watching the flames jump up before scrambling into the laundry room. It was here he shifted and pulled on jeans with a t shirt and grabbed a towel before relocating herself to sit behind his daughter. He began viciously drying her off, sighing warily at the time. Her fur fluffed up under his fingers and he made sure she was dry before switching a blanket with the towel. Leaving it around her, the gold-eyed author dragged his messenger bag off the floor and found his cell phone. "I found her." He text the blonde, leaving out where they were as he turned back to his daughter. He turned her to face him, "Are you okay, miss lady?" He asked gently, seeing she had no injuries. "Remember how daddy has been teaching you to shift when you get stuck? Let's give that a try so we can go see mommy." He encouraged, reminding her of their practices after incidents in the past. He figured he had her night shifting under control, although shifting on the full moon was a given. He was taking her to the park to meet Lillian, and to take Jeni home. He'd bundle her up warm, so it'd be fine for now, though he should keep her for the rest of the night.

Whining as she felt herself being nudged to her feet, Sela reluctantly shuffled her way to where she was being led before dropping back down to the floor. She shivered again as her ears jumped up to the startling sound of something catching fire. It took a few moments, but she finally felt heat radiating against her fur. Huffing out a breath, she closed her eyes in attempt to sleep as her body continued to shiver. Faintly hearing her daddy scramble around the house, she yelped in protest when she felt a towel drape over her and his uncomfortable drying method. The pup tried to scramble away but didn’t have the strength to get too far. When he was finished, Sela flopped down onto her side as the much more comfortable blanket was placed on her. With all the jerking around her daddy was just doing to her, the pup was wide awake just staring at the dancing flames as she heard him shuffling around with something. Another yelp of protest, she was being picked up and turned to face him. Looking up at him, her golden gaze meeting his, she stared at him silently as he spoke a little caught off guard by his eyes. Weren’t they usually blue?
To his question she yipped softly. She was fine. Thankfully she hadn’t managed to get injured on her scramble to come back home. She didn’t like the idea of her mommy going on a date with Jason. Actually, she didn’t like the idea of either of her parents doing that unless it was with each other. All she wanted was her family together. Plus, she just missed her daddy. After being with him for so long, she wasn’t ready to say goodbye, no matter how excited she was to see her mommy again. Hearing him mention mommy, the pup huffed defiantly and turned her back on him, dropping back to the floor and staring at the fire.

Tyrese's brows jutted upwards at Sela's immediate rejection of the idea, trying to figure out what put a bitter taste in her mouth. He still understood her yips in his language, but they were still muddled by a child's translation; Sela didn't have a big enough vocabulary to fully express herself yet. He scowled momentarily, then ran a gentle hand down her pelt. "Sela, hunny. Your mother is worried sick. We have to go see her. She'll help you shift if you aren't ready to yet." He offered, and checked his phone when it buzzed. "She's fine. Will B there soon" If she would cooperate, that is. She had a stubborn streak from both parents, which wasn't easy to get rid of. "We're going, whether you're a puppy or a person. What will it be?"

Looking over at him from the corner of her eye as he stroked her fur, Sela snorted and turned back to look at the fire. That was fine; her mother was worried about her. She was glad about that and for that she wanted to go see her, but at the same time she didn’t want too. The pup was mad at her. Or, what she was trying to do. Her daddy had said that she tried to fall in love with someone else and all the toddler could see was she was doing just that. She didn’t want that. It was supposed to be her parents that were together. They were supposed to be a family! Why couldn’t she have that? Sela whimpered softly and tried to turn herself further away from him. She wasn’t mad at him, but she just felt like she wanted to be alone. Her ears perked and rotated when she heard him speak up once again. Bringing her head up, she looked back at him with a soft glow to her eyes as she growled and then barked in refusal. She didn’t want to go! She wanted to stay here.

"Okay!" Tyrese settled, taking one calming breath, then another. "Okay." He wasn't willing to fight with her today and he was being short as it was. If she was going to be stubborn, with him at least, she was going to win out for the time being. The older wolf rubbed a hand down his face, "If you change back into a little girl then daddy will let you stay, if mommy will agree. She really misses you." He stated, trying to strike a deal with the toddler. "Last offer, young lady." Then she was being taken home whether she liked it or not, it wasn't likely Lillian was letting her stick too close to him now that she was home. They still needed to agree on shared custody, because he wasn't convinced they were going to work this out anymore. The last thing he needed to do was further jeopardize his daughter. The father waited on her cooperation, his arms folded across his chest.

Slowly turning back away from him, listening to him try to bargain with her, she watched the fire with a steady gaze. She could only stay if her mommy agreed to it. Why couldn’t he just tell mommy that she didn’t want to go home with her? He was her daddy, didn’t he want her around too? But, if her mommy really missed her...Even if she was mad at her, Sela missed her mommy too. Why was it so hard for her family to be together? Other families got to be together; they had a mommy and a daddy all living together. Her wish for having them be together for breakfasts, lunches, and dinners hadn’t changed. She wanted them to all wake up together in the morning and fall asleep together at night. When she got scared, she wanted to run to their room and snuggle into bed with them both and feel safe from all the bad things. Exhaling a breath through her nose, her form slowly began to change, curling up on the floor and shivering because of her lack of clothing. The toddler closed her eyes, already passed out from being in wolf form for so long; her small body could barely withstand the exhaustion.
