Ha! Well of course it would be quiet without anyone around! The pale skinned male was more interested in knowing how often it was empty within the shop. Ben seemed to think it was related to the weather, a fact Sage could only believe based off merit. Hot weather wasn't his favorite, so that was his personal season to avoid the great outdoors. He glanced towards the door thoughtfully. It would be nice for them if business did pick up mid spring and into the nicer weather. "I see..." With a gentle push at his hair, he followed the blonde salesman and nodded. Yes, he'd already noticed his coworker and the other customer, not that that proved a lot of people would come here often. "Are you the only two employed persons?"
The mage reached the book first, Sage yielding shortly behind and gently eyeing the book as it was held. He'd retained his comment until now, but spoke presently as he reached forward for the product to prop within one arm. "We'll see what it's worth is, surely, once I have a look at it. Do you mind terribly?-" He cut himself off as he motioned to the plastic, hinting at his desire to remove the plastic wrapping. He did so a moment later with delicate tugs as the sealed seams, tucking the wrapper beneath the end cover before opening to a random page. The mushi had just began to inspect it with increasing approval when his phone began to ring. A 70s psychedelic ringtone began to play as he gingerly offered the book back, removing the cell from his pocket and answering the call. However, before speaking into the device he covered the reciever and looked towards the blonde. "I'll take it."
Turning his back the next moment, Sage recognized the voice that had called his personal line. It was unexpected, as he thought his 'secretary' would be enjoying his day off. "Yes, Xo. Are you quite well?" He replied to the confused exhale of his name from the other end. The hungry being hadn't taken to technology smoothly, from what he'd found, and it was actually quite cute. Folding his free arm along his chest to support the elbow of the opposite, he cocked his head to listen for the next retort. "Hm? What about Fisher?" He asked evenly. So he saw his brother, that didn't seem like a big d- Sage stood a little straighter as he got the news, his golden orbs growing a little wider and his brows jutting upwards. "Stuck in a-" A breathy laugh left his throat as he covered his mouth, but he was soon seized with a full blown yet delicate laughter as his hand pushed against his knee to keep him upright.
"You don't say?" He blurted quite adbruptly, trying to imagine his ethereal twin stuck in a wall. A rush of satisfied pleasure widened his smile, his eyes darkening into a deeper gold as his lashes cast them in shadow. One side of the even curves became a smirk, a small tug straightening his jacket as he stood upright again and cleared his throat. What a hoot. "My, my. Is he still there? Take a picture for me." He hummed with approval, slowly lifting his heels to carry him towards the front of the shop. It seemed the issue was whether the CEO would like for Xo to help his precious twin, and the answer was only natrual. "Will you get him home for me? I'll call in my personal chef to make up for your valuable effort towards my dear life's blood."
All in all he still sounded very amused. "You say someone helped him? Bring them along too." Making sure no other details needed to be exchanged, he hung up a few moments later and approached the register where Ben was hopefully waiting. Xo had a spare key to his estate, so he should get in with no problems at all. "It seems I'm having a family emergency, and just when I was going to offer to treat you to tea." He sighed gently, as if he were disappointed. Locking his phone, the fashion designer looked at the mage as he tucked the device away. "So what's the total?" He inquired, taking out his wallet from his brief case with a small huff of air. He should get going before long, to see how his poor clumsy sibling was doing.

The mage hummed at the white-haired man's question about him and the fox being the only two workers in the bookstore. "The manager resigned due to personal reasons, so it's just mostly us doing the work. There is also the cashier, but he's currently having some time off." Considering that Casey had problems sleeping over a past few days, health was his main priority. He still needed to contact him whenever he could. "Quiet if there are not many customers flocking around. But now, since it's a sunny day, it will be buzzing with some activity. In fact, my co-worker is busy helping out another customer as well."
With the customer gently holding the book, the mage then noticed the slight tear on the plastic wrapping. More importantly, there seemed to be a call to take heed of. Benjamin was curious, but he shouldn't disturb the conversation. When the other male spoke about taking the book, his reply was a casual nod while holding the book so that the client would answer to the other end of the exchange of information. Based on the words, the customer was speaking to a man named Fisher. The sales associate couldn't pinpoint the exact relationship between those two, though there was a slight hint that those two would be family members based on the customer's comment a few seconds before the call was adjourned.
At the client's question about the price, his reply was short as he handed the book back to the man. "The price is $12.50." Based on the urgency of the situation, the man had to leave quickly, and Benjamin would let him depart abruptly as long as the payment was settled before exiting the building.

The interaction yesterday with Sage was indeed insightful, though he still had to ponder about the invitation to test out the clothing line as a model. To be honest, he would accept the offer but it would depend on the schedule. After all, there were still some details that need ironing out and he had to ensure that he wouldn't regret jumping in. He may be curious, but he had to trek carefully. It was a good thing that he had Sage's contact information written in his notebook for future reference.
So now, here he was, back to work today, going through the same routine as before. He wouldn't mind acting professional, but he wished that today, there would be some more fresh faces to encounter with.

What a lovely day yesterday was! Leah had already met two people, and the candy shop she stopped at was wonderful, Mel was so warm and kind to let her try all the new, foreign treats she had never seen before. Now the lively girl was back it again, as she made her way around the shopping district, she had noticed while unpacking last night, the girl barely had any books to do with plants! Leah was eager to get more books on the subject, excited to own books of the knowledge she was already so familiar with.
The girl entered the shop, maintaining that elegant and graceful posture that she always seemed to keep with out even trying, "Hello there~!" Leah warmly greatly the boy in the shop, eager to make more friends.

Because of the lack of managerial presence, Benjamin had to handle most of the work for the establishment. He sighed; he hoped that the replacement as the new manager would come in as soon as possible. Bur for now, he had to grit his teeth and keep going. He had two more stacks of books and comics to arrange for the day, and even to check for the inventory for possible restocking. Though he was now familiar with the set-up, the poor mage would feel tired upon returning home, having the urge to sleep without dinner. The blond was just done placing the hard-bound on its proper shelf when he heard the bell ringing, alerting him of a new customer.
Based on the cheerful greeting, the young-looking girl was energetic, eager for a conversation. He smiled back at the verdant-haired female, though his position was stuck with the current predicament. "Good morning, miss. Is there anything that requires my assistance?"

Leah gave a bright smile, happy to be greeted back. "Yeah, it's a rather nice morning! She explained, her Greek accent coated with her words as she struggled to pronounce the scientific name for an element that she was so used to it.
Upon looking through the depths of her packed away boxes, she had discovered a dictionary and looked up the term this morning, so she knew what to say when scouting for her desired novels.

The water mage was putting a few more books onto that same shelf when he heard the female asking for references about botany and gardening. He could hear the strange accent blending in words. The last time he talked with Kristen and Atticus, he felt that similar vibe, except that this time, it was diverging. Perhaps the girl was from another country he hadn't visited just yet, but the question would be saved for later. The sales associate stood up and approached the girl with the signature professionalism.
"How about if I'll guide you to the Science section since there may be a few books related to botany there? As for gardening, that other section was not far from there." It was a good thing that such categorization exists for easier searching.

Benjamin chuckled at her exclamation, the description formed through her words. "Well, it is a bookstore, after all. And I have met a few people who are new to Soleil City just like you, so I'm wishing you good luck on meeting new people. More importantly, an acquaintance of mine is having her concert today at the beach. Her workplace, Amour de la Mer, is located just near the place." He knew that Solaris may need a few more friends, so the big event for her may be a good start. As he guided the customer to the Science section for botany books, he questioned even more. "May I know your name, young lass? I'm Benjamin Harris, just one of the people working in this establishment. Plus, your accent tells me that you are from another country."

She was excited by the idea, especially if there was going to be music! Leah began to glance over the books, looking for the word "botany" in on any of them. "Oh my name is Leah Agapios, I am from Greece, actually. So I am a bit for away from home. It's nice to meet you Benjamin!" Leah introduced herself warmly, happy to meet him.

The sales associate was amused at the woman's name. "Such a lovely name for a lass like you, I have to admit. And Greece does sound like a nice country. I'm actually from England before moving into the city." They were almost there to the section as he rambled on a bit more. "The acquaintance I'm speaking of at this moment is Solaris, the violinist who dreams to make a big name here." His footsteps ceased as they both arrived at the spot. "Well, here's the Science section. You may find a title that tickles your fancy based on your interests."

The Half-Demon Romy stood outside the shop, staring at the sign that proclaimed it's name as if it would change into something else if she looked hard enough. This was the place she was she looking for but couldn't just walk in. No, the spazz in her wouldn't let her until she made sure that this was THE Bookworm's she was looking for and not another store with the same name who coincidentally sold books as well. She reached into the periwinkle satchel at her hip and retrieved a small purple notebook from it's depths. She flipped through it quickly until she found a page that held a list of locations around the island and their addresses. The redhead squinted at the address and then around at any nearby street signs. Having confirmed what she already knew, Romy pulled a pen from one of the smaller compartments within the satchel and placed a check mark next to Bookworm's name on the list. Now that she laid eyes on the store itself, it was just another doorway she could exit the demonic world from which was good because she had a feeling the bookstore might become one of her haunts until she found the library and got her hands on a library card.
Romy tucked the pen and notebook back into her satchel and replaced it for her cellphone where she checked the time. She had gotten up early (by her standards) to get a feel of the island and it's people. She had been diligent, forcing herself to move pass the numerous stores that tempted her to come inside and spend all her cash. The hardest by far to pass were the clothing stores but she did it and now she figured she deserved a little something for her self-control. Why not a book or two? At least that would get some use unlike the clothes that would have most likely ended up in the back of her closet with the tags still attached. 'Just a quick look around.' Romy entered the store and after a quick glance around, decided to look at the displays first and then go browsing the shelves. She slowed before a stop before one of the more colorful displays and picked up one of the books. A quick skim revealed that it was book on a local legend on soulmates and some sort of fruit. It being a book about Soliel legends was more than enough for her to want to buy it. She wanted to know everything about her new home even the fantastical.

 Katlyn Willan Do every act like it'll be the last act you'll do
Katlyn walked down the street, taking in the new city she found herself in. And she wasn't scared. She was smiling big. New home, new city, new people, even a new job already. Now she just needed that new romance and it would be a novel moment. She snickered to herself, earning herself a few glances of raised eyebrows. She just gave them a shrug and a look that said 'if you only knew.' She was in good spirits today. She didn't read her horoscope that said today was a good day, she didn't read a good fortune cookie, nothing like that. She just woke up after her first night of sleeping in her new home, which was still pilled with boxes that still needed to be unpacked, and just had a bright smile on her face. Her grandmother would say that she had sneak into her brownies. She wondered what her grandmother was doing right now. Probably that weird yoga she had started recently where she stood on her head. But she was smiling because she wasn't going to walk into her grandmother doing some weird antic and no accidental consumption of pot brownies. It was her home, where everything was hers and if anything happened, it would actually be her fault. Plus where her home was located was really charming. The vines really gave it a good touch.
She looked at the street signs, following the paper of directions in her hand for a book store called Bookworm's. She could only shake her head at the name, but she wasn't going to be rude. New place, better be nice for now. Besides, she probably would need the sales person's help finding the books she needed. Her new job was grounds keeping and she needed a book on the kind of plants they had. Of course it was mostly bushes, which was actually different than what she was use to. She was use to fragile vegetables and herbs, but bushes, she was sure was a little easier to care for. She just wanted to make sure she did it right though. Lord knew she didn't want to get fired because she over watered them. She skidded to a hault when she found the door to the bookstore she was looking for. Katlyn smiled. “Oh wow, good size.” She said as she looked up at it. She stepped inside, thankful to the warmth that greeted her. Outside was chilly, even her scarf wasn't helping. Or maybe it was, she didn't know, she just knew she didn't like the cold. Never did. Katlyn glanced around, as she walked, looking at the signs to try and find the garden section.
She walked past a dark skinned woman, not keeping to herself by looking at what book the woman was glancing at. She stopped mid-step as she saw that it was some kind of legend book for the city. She gave the woman a smile. “Fairy tales huh? I personally prefer princess and dragons myself.” She said with a snicker. “Only teasing, I didn't know the city had it's own legend, like the loch ness monster. What exactly is the legend?” She asked, taking a step back so the woman had her personal space again. Katlyn figured she would need the space since she did tease the woman the moment she met her. From her experience, which was sadly extensive, most weren't too thrilled about that.
Be happy in the moment, that's enough. Each moment is all we need, not more.

The Half-Demon For a brief moment Romy didn't realized she was being addressed until movement at the corner of her eye forced her to look away from the book and over at a human smiling her way. She knew the island's people were friendly but not friendly enough to just chat up a stranger on the fly. Considering there seemed to be no maliciousness behind her teasing, she allowed herself to smile back at the stranger. "From what I can gather..." Her voice trailed off as she skimmed the summary printed on the back once more. "You uh go to an island with your chosen significant other and eat a fruit together?" Uncertainty and confusion made the word together notably higher in pitch. "Eating the fruit together somehow shows you're soulmates or the fruit itself is able to determine you're soulmates. I dunno I just kinda glanced." The book wasn't all to thick but it wasn't exactly thin either so there was probably more to it than her poor summary of a summary. "Doesn't say what happens if you're not soulmates though. I guess you just leave...or maybe you both die. These sort of things always got some crazy twist about them." She finished with a one shoulder shrug. "I mean what you suppose to do if they're not your soulmate? Break up and keep looking for that special someone? All that love just to be ended like that? That's kinda messed up." It also sounded like a big waste of time. If such a thing existed, Romy would rather not know. Still was going to buy the book however to learn more about the legend. "I'm Romy by the way."
