Alaci stiffened when she watched Rayne fall. After being positive he and Coremean would be okay. She looked back across the gap at Zelda, "Listen, just don't think about, focus on us and don't think about anything else but getting across. Don't worry, you won't fall," Alaci called out, trying to give out the best advice she could think of on a moments notice.

Link had jumped forward as Rayne fell, much like the rest of the group, but was now studying the way Rayne had shimmied across. He walked over to the end of the rope, squatting down before breaking into a grin. He turned back to the princess, smiling up from his perch on the edge of the cliff. "What if you hooked your arms and knees around the rope, and kind of pulled yourself to the other side? That way, you can't look down and freak out halfway across." he added, trying to draw a picture by waving his hands in the air around his face. "You just let your head and back swing under the rope, while using your feet and hands to pull yourself across. Does that sound more do-able?"

"Yeah princess, that's a great idea." Andarlo shouted across the chasm.
(I have a question, what is Zelda wearing? I not trying to be strange or anything but it would be funny if Zelda were still wearing her dress if she tried to shimmy across. Just sayin.)

(She's wearing a dress...)
Midna pouted. "Now, now, Link, that's no way for a lady to behave!"
Zelda looked down at her long skirt. "Oh, that'll work," she said sarcastically. "I have a better idea." First she removed her gloves and stowed them away in her bag. Then she rubbed her bare hands in the dry dirt. "I was quite a tomboy when I was younger," she muttered. "I have terrible balance... but I used to swing across the framework of some of the additions to the palace... can't be very different from that..." She prayed it was strong rope.
Midna's eyes widened. "Don't tell me you're going to...!"

Andarlo wasn't overly surprised when Zelda decided not to do it. If it had been him wearing a dress, he probably wouldn't do it either. As he looked back over the chasm, he saw Zelda preparing to do something. "Hmm, now what is she up to? Oh, Ohhh now I see. How resourceful, she's going to swing across."

Alaci nodded, "Good idea actually. I wonder how it'll turn out," Alaci muttered to herself quietly, watching Zelda curiously.
Vitia sighed queitly, "This is getting nowhere, honestly is it even worth it?" Vitia whispered to herself, scowling. Silently, she weaved her way through the forest, deep in thought.

"They said I could be a gymnast," Zelda muttered. "Time to test the theory." Gripping the rope tightly between her hands, she let herself slide down the side of the chasm. Then she let go with one hand and put it in front of the other. She repeated the process and slowly made her way across. She was halfway before she paused for a break. "Don't look down... don't look down..."
Midna gaped. She never would of thought of doing that. Humans were truly resourceful- far more resourceful than anyone ever said they were. She was beginning to see a new respect for them. Still... she was supposed to be acting sullen. But she wasn't going to put her friend in danger. So... "Careful, Zelda!" she called. "It's a long way down!"

Rayne scrambled to the top of the cliff on the other side with Coremean's help and plopped down on the ground. He would have a few minutes before Zelda arrived, so he decided to rest his arms. His arms did hold his body weight weight up at one point, but he never had to shimmy across a piece of rope before. The thief glanced up at Andarlo. "I don't suppose you have something that prevents dizziness?" Rayne hated asking, but he couldn't afford to have anything spark those images when he needed to concentrate.

Andarlo looked through his pouch and pulled out a small hard rock-like stone. "Here Rayne, this is medicine my country makes for dizziness. It should taste like an apple." He said. "You really only need to take a lick for it to work. You should keep it, you know, just in case."

Coremean sat wide-eyed next to Rayne. He was scared out of his wits knowing that if he had slipped even a little bit, it would send him falling down into the seemingly endless abyss. Although, if anyone looked at him now, they would think he was just surprised. He shook his head to get the shock out of his system. Just as he regained his senses, he noticed Zelda getting ready to swing over to join them.

Zelda let out a breath and starting swinging across again. The dirt on her hands was wearing off, and she was probably not going to get to the other side without blisters. Finally, she reached the edge but couldn't find a good handhold on the cliff. "Well, I'm stuck," she muttered.
Midna stuck her tongue out. "Classic damsel-in-distress. Very original."

Coremean edged over to where Zelda was, offering his hand yet again. He smiled rather childishly at her, he was unused to being able to provide so much help to a person, much less a group of people.

Zelda took Coremean's offered hand. "Don't fall," she warned as she used his hand as something to swing against, until she built up enough momentum to scrabble up the wall. Releasing the rope with her other hand, she clawed at the ground for some kind of grip. Her groping fingers found a root, which she hung onto for dear life. Using only upper arm strength (and more than she thought she had), Zelda managed to heave herself up onto the ground, where she stood, brushing as much dirt off her dress as possible. "Damn. I'll have to buy something that's easier to move in."
Midna stared. "Hunh. Humans never cease to surprise me... in both their innovation and stupidity." She sank back into Coremean's shadow. She wished Viktor were there. At least he was more fun to tease. Not as fun as Link, though...

Rayne reluctantly moved his arm to take the stone from Andarlo and brought it to his lips. He wasn't dizzy anymore, but he wanted to see if it would still have dizzy spells if he licked it on a daily basis. "Are we leaving now?" Rayne asked as he threw the stone in his bag, which involved more movement out of his tired arms.

Coremean gathered his grass rope and his third arrow. "We might as well be. We need to get to the children as fast as possible."
