Alex laughed a little, attempting to keep Cody from getting too excited as he pet the dog. "Life? Life's been fine. I also think I've gotten a little faster, too." He scratched Cody behind his ears. "Sorry. Haven't done a good job keeping in touch, huh?"

Cody laughed a little as he was pet by alex, his tail still wagging as he calmed down a little enjoying the scratching "Its not just you lex, everyone seemed to get out of touch with one another, even shin. Heh, humans are strange, one minute their like pack animals the next they turn into loners, all on a whim it seems" the dog said as he smiled at the boy "Still, im glad I got to see you...denkou and sin finnaly stopped by today, Id imagine shin would like to see you..." the dog said thinking for a moment "Have you been to dairens grave lately" he asked curiously.

Denkou hugged Shin as tightly as he could at the moment, waiting to hear the voices that always seemed to seemed to tell him to let Sin be herself. He tensed or a moment, before punching Shin, without hesitation. "How could you!

"Y-Yeah. It's weird, really," Alex started as he stopped scratching the dog, putting his hand in his lap. "I know the guy was all evil, but part of me still considers him a friend. Don't know why, but that's just how it is." He shrugged, not really knowing what to expect.

Shin was a little shocked as denkou hugged him, even more surprised as he was caught off gaurd by the sudden punch "Ow, hey hey! What the heck did I do!" he said his eyes wide as he looked at denkou, he had no clue what had happened one minute he was getting hugged the next denkou was attacking him! The guy seemed pissed all of a sudden. "S-sorry but whad I do!" he said looking at denkou a little hurt.
Cody just smiled at alex sitting down next to the boy "Its okay, I can understand I suppose, sometimes shin takes me to dairens grave, we even left flowers once....although we hate the man...if it werent for his existance we never would have met any of you..so in a way we owe him a little gratitued" the dog said shrugging a little.

((Question: How does a dog shrug? >_<)) ((Heh, answer, he hunches his furry little shoulders and lowers his head a little, then goes back to sitting normaly..)) ((Ah X3))Alex didn't really say anything as he put one hand on the dog's head. In a way, the dog had a point; he'd have never met Shin if it weren't for Dairen. Somehow, he still couldn't really believe the man was gone.

Cody settled in next to alex, a soft smile on his face as he watched the boy with his hand on his head, alex didnt say anything and that was fine, cody didnt mind the silence. He had to wonder if hed explained things right, he supposed hed done his best.

"Hey. Know how I always tend to push myself past my limits?" Alex said suddenly, scratching Cody behind his ears again. "You guys aren't the only ones that stop me from doing that. Nature tries to stop me as well." He let out a sigh before he had a smile on his face. "I swear, things haven't change all that much."

Cody had to laugh as he looked up at alex "No, nothings realy changed, and im glad nature has stepped in for us, keeps you from killing yourself!" cody said his tail wagging again "You know its only been a year, not ten or a hundred, but just one year, so ovcourse things havent changed so much" cody said smiling.

"I'm not trying to kill myself," Alex said, a small frown on his face before he laughed, unable to maintain it for very long. "The only major difference is that no one's trying to kill us. Isn't that nice? Oh yeah. How's the new apartment?"

Cody looked from the boy to Roan who was walking over to the two, he smiled at him before turning his attention back to alex "Yeah it is realy nice that no ones after us anymore, heh shin gets bored sometimes though, sin too it seems, seeing as the two went out for a sparring match...it looks like it went bad though, denkou seems mad about it" cody said frowning for a moment before smiling again "The new place is wonderfull, its alot bigger than the last one, and it has a nice kitchen" the dog said his mind wandering to food.

"I try to get out of my house as much as possible. Seen too much of the thing, what with always getting injured before," Alex grinned. He coughed into his free hand a little bit, ignoring the minor thing. "What's on your mind, you crazy dog?"

"Roan makes good bacon, ive been eating so much better since hes shown up, heh shin couldnt cook to save himself" the dog said happily "and Im glad you can get out of the house, its good that your not injured anymore, makes you less grumpy" the dog said laughing.
Roan walked up to the pair a smile on his face, for the past year he had been living with shin and cody, yukiko having left to Borneo not long after the final battle and deneal dissapearing about a month later. The three had enjoyed each others company seeing as their loves had gone and taken off.
Roan was more than happy to help shin get a new place as well as stay with them, not wanting to go back to his family. One day he planned on running the family's business but not just yet.
"Ne, cody, im flattered, heh shin-kun says I cant feed him too much, or else he'll get fat and die" Roan said looking at alex "Ne, alex-kun, its nice to see you again, im glad your doing okay" he said kneeling down next to the pair "Ne, shin-kun and denkou-kun are fighting I think...im going to stay out of it though. Its not my business" he said shrugging a little bit.

"Very funny," Alex snapped, pushing the dog's head to the ground. He looked up at Roan next, glad to see another familiar face. "Nice to see you too, Roan. What're you doing to these guys? Torturing them by food?" He looked over where Denkou and Shin were. "I don't know what happened and I don't think I'd like to know."

Cody just laughed as he was pushed down ruffling his fur as he smiled up at alex.
Roan nodded to the boy smirking a little "Ne, maby just a little bit, heh, if you had a choice would it be dog food and cereal, or a Roast and other goodies" he said happily "Ne, for once alex-kun..im with you, shiningai will tell me later I wont get involved right now, heh unless denkou-kun realy starts beating on poor shin-kun" roan said laughing a little bit
