Another update on this dress! I have the sleeves cut out, sewn together, and ready for elastic before I attach them to the dress itself, and then I have to add the lining.
With how school and work have been going, I haven't been able to make as much progress on this as I wanted-- And since I'm leaving the country on Thursday morning and won't be back until the 17th, I doubt I will be able to finish for at least another month.

Ooooooh. It does look nice so far, though. Can't wait to see you showing off the completed dress.

Fabric for skirts I'm going to work on early this summer:

The rose and skull motif fabric are going to make the overskirt for a bustle-back set. The lace will attach at the hem with a ruffle underneath that. The underskirt will be black, but black is black is black, so I didn't see a reason to take a photo of the fabric I bought for the underskirt.

The polka dot fabric I'm a bit torn on, still. I have six yards, so I have plenty to play with. I'm torn between designing a skirt with lots of ruffles and eyelet lace and a JSK with the same. I'll have to do some sketches before I end up deciding, I guess. Either way, I want the skirt to have a separate panel in the front with pintucks and lace.

A skirt that isn't finished yet:

This skirt is a bit less fluffy than the last one in the same fabric. It's half-finished and in the process of having red grosgrain ribbon sewn around the hem. It's slow going since I'm doing it by hand--I'm afraid of my machine eating the ribbon or having it end up crooked along the hem--but it looks good so far!

So cute!
You could add white silk rosebuds and ribbon to make a bow for the head.
Or you could give it a bowtie. ^.^

My next project, to be done in red polka dots! I'm debating whether to do it in the small-sized dots I posted above, or larger dots that I found today. It's a tough call, really. The skirt will be very full, the same shape as this skirt:

I think a mini straw hat and a school girl tie would look adorable
