I'd have to dsay that at least 80% of the drumline I'm in are cocky, but it's usually the guys. Though one guy's so self doupting that it's sad. However, the cocky guys are really hilarious because those are usually the gay one's as well.
The pit consists of mostly girls excluding 2 guys on drumset/ rack. They're all really nice, sarcastic, but nice.

Yes some of us are less spazzy than others. Some rarely spazzy.

Well, the only person thats REALLY cocky, I mean they all get a little cocky sometimes. When I'm in charge, I try to stay level-headed, I've been there too. But anyway, the only REALLY cocky person is my friend...I'll call him R. He's the set dude and he...doesn't really know how to read the feild commander's hands. He's going offbeat ALOT, but he's getting better so don't think I'm trashing him or anything! But when Mr. Grow decided to tell the band to listen to him because he was on beat once(evern though you're supposed to listen to the SNARES!!!!) anyway, he just started messing up the beat and since everyone was listening to the SNARE, he was alone sounding like crap, but he just kept yelling, "listen to me!" when we would talk during break... sweatdrop

OMG. Last year they were horrible. Probably the worst thing they ever did was when we took a 14 hour bus ride (there and back) on a charter bus and the ENTIRE TIME they were drumming on whatever hard surface they could find. After the game when it was like 2 in the morning they were STILL DRUMMING when the chaperones told them to stop cause some people had to work and they said " well if thats the case stop chapperoning" !!!! Well, most of them graduated last year so they arent as bad but they still can get on out nerves.

From my experience its almost a requirement to be in DL. Then again the ones that were the cockiest had a reason to be, they were damn good. One was soooooo cocky and it showed when he played in a show but it made him awesome to watch. Where as the other snare was probably more precise but had no attitude no expression just cold precision. He was boring to watch for all his precision. You watched the other and wanted to get up and dance or just grove to the music because he brought life to it, attitude, interest. so yea...the drumline was cocky...but they had their reasons.

We're only cocky cause we KNOW that we're better than the other drumlines 8D~
But in all seriousness, we're not very cocky at all x3 We do have a bit of a superiority mindset, but not too cocky :3

Well some of their bassists are cocky, but not enough to the point you want to kill them, just maybe beat them up. But their cocky is only overconfidence and their playing can back that up. But they're cool once you get to know them...
Because someday I'll be part of them and not still be in pit my sophomore year.

Yeah our drumline including me is very high on themselves.
We percussionists get spoiled during band camp. We get extra privleges. We're the only section that actually has a close bond.
They say bands a family.
Well in our band it's band then it's percussion. XD

My school doesn't have a pit. But all of us (i am a percussionist-bass drum) know that what happens in marching band can become completely reversed in concert band. (the reason we dont have a pit is because our band insructer wants everyone to march)
