Everyone had long gone, filing out of the ballroom, and he remained, completely and totally oblivious. It was almost pathetic that he was so unaware of everything. Spinning about with punch in hand, Beau looked about the ballroom, completely and utterly dumb founded. Where had everybody gone?

"H-hello?"

A pause, and he took a few slow steps forward, then froze.

"Anyone?"

Another pause, and a few shuffling steps, his movements becoming more furtive and wary than they had been before. Oh no. What had happened to them all...ghosts?

"Suprise? Jokes on me?"

His voice quavered with uncertainty, eyes as round as china plates. This was awful. Where had they all gone?

It must have been ghosts. They tended to haunt huge places like this, and he'd just read The Castle of Otranto... ghosts could do some strangely uncanny things. He began to step backward, away from the center of the room, eyes searching for a place to hide. Oh God...oh God...this was going to be awful. They'd already gotten everyone else, and now they would be after him. Oh no. He was going to be killed in the most brutal of ways...ghosts could be such viscious creatures. Maybe...if he let them speak to them...maybe he could help them out on their unfinished business? Maybe?

"H-hello?" he squeaked.

Suddenly, he crashed into something behind him, something big and solid, almost metallic. A sword dropped to his right, harmlessly grazing his shoulder. He screamed, tossing the cups of punch high into the air, unaware of the red juice spattering everywhere. He ran from the room, fully certain that the ghosts were hot on his trail. Well, they certainly were not going to get him. He would outrun them and ...learn some sort of spell really really quickly to either make them go away, or like him. Whatever was easier.

Mostly everyone had gone back to their rooms or wherever they supposedly belonged. Kyne grinned and took a few steps in the direction of faculty quarters when he heard a huge clang. A moment later, a brightly dressed man charged past him drenched in red liquid. ... blood? No.. it was too bright to be blood. The shade wasn't quite right, Kyne thought to himself. Being a man of science, he was familiar with the appearance of chemicals such as blood.

However, what ever had caused the man to run away in such horror? Kyne peered into the room... there was a suit of armor on the floor as well as a sword that was probably previously held by it. That answered the question of where the horrific clang came from. The scream, naturally from the man. There was more bright red liquid on the floor. Drowned in them were cups.

Kyne nodded with a grin. "I wonder who'll get fooled by this." With that, he turned heel and headed toward his quarters.

With various levels of destructiveness, almost everyone had now filed out of the ballroom, leaving Amadeus and his ivy-leaf.

Slowly, he negotiated the spreading pool of fruit punch, and made his way up to his own room.
