Probably about 5 years now. I suppose i was into slash a bit before yaoi though, you know, reading about same sex couples in novels and think "aww sweet", then i started coming across Evanglion fanart and was like GZOMP!

well.. i started liking Yaoi like in my 9th grade year when my friend got Fake. now i'm a senior... mmnnn.. well i guess its 4 years but.. yeah sweatdrop xd Thats how long i've been a fan mrgreen

i have been a fan since....
i lost count
but ever since my encounter with that fanfic....yup i gotta say that was probably when i kinda first got into it.
but right now....heh im open about yaoi..except to my family....considering they'll find me weirder than they already think of me.

I've been a yaoi fan since 6th grade, currently a junior in high school. But I too remember when no one knew about it or it was odd to bring it up unless you were with other friends who liked it too. Yaoi is something I talk about like crazy now just not around most people in my high school because they think anything like that is wrong or gross. So it's still in the little group of friends. But more people know about it which is nice. 3nodding

Hmm, well, it's certainly been awhile. I got into it through slashing characters in my favorite shows, although I was never a big GW slasher. (Scariest fandom ever! Well, runner-up to Harry Potter) I do remember watching Gravitation as a realplayer fansub, looking for info/fans on the show online and finding almost nothing.
Later, I read the manga with translations, and then it finally started coming out in English. I started reading Banana Fish way back, before Gravitation, as well, which I think was probably the first English released shounen-ai? (The last book is coming out in English this April! Celebration!)

It's been almost 4 years now! whee Didn't know it was that much! I remember when I first started on Yaoi a lot of friends stop talking to me, because for them Yaoi is perversion... even though they don't think Hentai is.

I guess you could say I got my first taste of yaoi with fanfics probably in 2001. I never thought about yaoi as a genre because I didn't know it existed.
So I suppose I didn't really get obsessed with it until it slowly became more popular and available. I guess I've only been a hardcore fan for maybe 3 years.

I don't recall when I became a yaoi fan. It seems like when Loveless came about. DNAngel is kind of what got me big into anime/manga and I liked the slight shonen-ai-ness to it, but I didn't know about yaoi or at least I wasn't into it until later.
I probably got into it as it was gaining popularity. I remember liking it when there wasn't any on the shelves at book stores, but it wasn't long until they were stocked with it.
As it is I still have to keep it hush hush around my family and all. I don't even buy yaoi anime, just a few mangas I can get away with.

I've been a fan for at least 4 or so years...I didn't read the mangas until about 3 years ago so I had to be content with making up yaoi stories to satisfy my need lol

I'd say I started liking it around 6-7 yeaers now. Not many girls knew about yaoi back then. My best friend's sister introduced me to it.
