TINY!

All the middle schoolers like to quit.

So this year our battery had 10. 5 basses 2 tenors and 3 snares

We're losing 4 off the line.
Which gives us
2 tenors 3 basses and 1 snare
I'm a bass wanting to go to snare or tenor.

That would give us
2 basses
We're ONLY gaining ONE middle schooler. We usually but newbies on the bass line. That's how I am.
2 people from front ensemble want to come to bass.
That would give us a total of
5 basses 2 tenors 2 snares
Which is still tiny. So we MAY pull from the hornline and put on bass.

Our marching band is dying. We used to be feared all throughout California (southern), but ever since the prestigious Mr. Immel left, drumline is beginning to take over. And that's sad, considering last year we had 5 snares, 3 quads, 1 symbol, and 4 basses, myself one of them. That was my senior year, and there were more of us than flutes, which is depressing. Our jazz band flourishes, while our marching band dwindles... I loved marching band...

But yeah. Our drumline, though small, is vaguely famous only because of our instructor, Mr. Barney Lane. He strikes fear into the hearts of many a drumline. For instance, our cymbal player used to break dance while he was playing. X3

we have 8 snare, 3 tenors/quints 5 bass, 6 cymbals, and 18 pit.
we are the largest in our area but there are other schools who we compleate against who are bigger. but its not about the size of the drumline, its about how well you play as a "family"

It fluctuates, methinks, especially between marching and winter drums.

Usually we have 4-5 snares, 3-5 tenors, and 5 basses (we don't really do cymbals except for parades, and usually pit kids do them). Our pit fluctuates the most year-to-year, it was around 12 or 13 this past year.

Dude.
We used to have a bajillion percussion kids. neutral There were 36 my freshman year, now we're down to like...20ish. My class actually started out with 13 percussionists, we gained a new one sophomore year, but all but five of them have or are quit/ting. D:
