Oh anime...My first four anime were, in order of watching were: Star Blazers - So, SO good. Speed Racer - Go Speed, Go! Voltron - Who didn't like a show about robots and people in colored jumpsuits? Robotech/Super Dimension Fortress Macross - A truly epic story. I'm collecting the new English dub...so far so good
I could go on and on about those shows, but I've been an anime fan ever since!
Nowadays I like: InuYasha Fullmetal Alchemist Ghost in the Shell Macross Zero Eureka Seven

Heh, you have great taste, Sedesla. Those first three are some of my favorites. Angelic Layer, unfortunately, came along after I'd become far too broke to spend massive amounts of money on anime, so I've only seen one episode.
By the way, I ADORE your avatar. heart

By the way, I ADORE your avatar. heart Aw thanks ^_^ Back when I was in high school my friend would make me sit down and watch an entire series (fansubbed) in one two day period. She did this regularly. After a while I stopped just liking everything she threw at me (Like Evangelion gonk ) and started to decide what I liked. Escaflowne was one of the early shows I watched that I never stopped loving. It's all about Dilandau. BURNINATION!!!

When I first got into anime it was when I was in middle school. Back then I liked Dragonball Z, Robotech, Voltron, Pokemon and Speed Racer (funny thing is that my mom watched Speed too when she was a kid). Voltron is really corny, but I liked it anyway for some reason. I still like pokemon, but as a video game not the show.
It have been a loooong while since I got into anime. There have not been any that I was interested in. I don't like anime that gets too pervy, and cutsy girls with squeezy voices annoy me. Also, I don't like too much drama or anything that stresses the importance of friends and family.
I have always wanted to watch Slayers and I finally got to watch it. I really like this anime so far. I am not sure what makes it so appealing to me. Maybe because it deals with magic and has a fantasy european setting.

Just a suggestion, to the person looking for anime, did you try Amazon.com? That's where I bought Cowboy Bebop and Hellsing, the only two anime I could ever really get into. It's a shame Bebop only ran for 2 years, it's an excellent show. Great music, and the story never gets dull. Hellsing started off very well, but once it started deviating from the manga story arc, it turned to crap.

Snow, I'd agree with you on Hellsing. The last story arc with the mega bad guy kind of annoyed me. But there's a new series that supposedly follows the storyline of the manga more closely, so I suppose we'll get to see some Nazis. I haven't seen it yet, so I couldn't say how good it is.

*deep, satisfied sigh* blaugh
ahhhh anime. biggrin Feels good just to type it.
Anime....
I have always loved it. I've watched (and adored) Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, Elfen Lied, Ranma 1/2, Pokemon (before they went all crazy and went further and crap with more crap and then some more crap.. xp ), Sailor Moon, Ronin Warriors, Gundam Wing, G Gundam, Fullmetal Alchemist, The Tenchi series, Love Hina (just four episodes), The Mermaid's Scar series (I think it was like...three or four of these movies), Wicked City, Princess Mononoke, Dragon Ball Z, Lupin the 3rd, Detective Conan, Super Milk Chan, Voltron, Escaflowne, Digimon, Flint the Time Detective....
sweatdrop I could go on and on. Long story short, this girl loves her anime. I especially love Cowboy Bebop. There's just something so cool and so mellow about the show and the soundtracks that I can totally identify with.

Yay Glam.
I always adored Ryoko from the Tenchi series, mainly because she was hard core. Though the bickering between her and Ayeka (Sp?) drove me up the wall. Washu should have just cloned Tenchi...
For some reason Harry from Outlaw Star always got to me, he started off so creepy, but in the end I almost found myself feeling bad for him. He just didn't know how to express his feelings in a healthy manner... I also liked Jim Hawkings because on some levels he reminds me of my little brother (smart, more mature than most adults, etc).
Wendee Lee is by far a phenomenal voice actress. Her work makes the dub of Cowboy Bebop quite watchable. And Steve Blum
heart fangirls heart

I'm a sub purist, excepting the Miyazaki movies that they actually managed to get decent voice actors for. But for everything else, it's always better in the original Japanese. American voice actors are boring at best, headache-inducing at worst.

Wow, I'm in heaven... Anime Addicts... I'm glad that there are other adults out there who enjoy these wonderful animations.
Let's see: I think my first Anime was the Sailor Moon and Dragonball series. From there I became addicted to various Animes over the years like Wolf's Rain, Inuyasha, Card Captor Sakura, Big O, Witch Hunter Robin, Bleach, Detective Conan, Full Metal Alchemist, .Hack, Naruto, Zatch Bell, Lupin III, Trigun, Yu Yu Hakusho, and last but not least Trinity Blood. I know there are others that I've been addicted to but can't think of them off hand. ninja

I've been watching Bleach and Eureka 7 on CN.
I always end up watching series that aren't as "mainstream as others" I'm really into classic anime, and I'd say the genre I watch the most is Shounen. Sure, I like Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyo!, Ranma, and the more "well-known" series, but I wanted to list some others along with those. Hopefully I'll have some in common with other people. =3
Series I own/have seen/ or am currently watching: Eyeshield 21 Gravitation Kyo Kara Maoh Yakitate! Japan (What my signature pic is from) Rurouni Kenshin Saiyuki Slayers Dot Hack-Udeden (can't remember the English name, but it's a cute series.)
Older Series: Samurai Troopers Saint Seiya Slam Dunk Black Jack (OAVs and Black Jack 21) Captain Harlock Galaxy Express 999
I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of now. =3
