Messiah growled slightly when she saw the rod being swung towards her head. Reacting hastily, she blocked the blow, grabbing hold of the staff with her left hand. She tugged with decent strength in an attempt to thrust him in an even closer range. Her other hand undid the crimson belt that hung loosely around her waist, which had been more so for show than for any other purpose. The belt itself was rather thick and heavy and since she doubted that she could snatch back her naginata at that moment, she decided to improvise.
The human held the end of the belt tightly as she moved to whip the boy in the face, intending for the brass buckle to hit him square across the eyes. If the blow landed, she highly doubted it'd cause too much physical harm, since it was more so to catch him off guard and distract him. Letting go of his weapon, Messiah moved to throw a punch at his jaw. He was pretty good, she'd admit, though the sixteen year old was still confident in her own abilities.

"There is no need for you to strike whenever there is no need," The proverb entered Avio's head whenever he laid down his weapon, making his action a bit more senseful (or making more sense). He wished that he could just start picking people off, but that'd be suicide in this current situation. "May as well move on and try to map this area out a bit more," Avio thought to himself as he slowly stood up and placed his rifle strap across himself, allowing the actual weapon to dangle off of his back comfortably.
Avio moved silently across the underbrush, or as silently as he could. It wasn't his wish to be spotted suddenly by some passerby, though they probably wouldn't think twice about it and just move on about their day. He could hear the sound of metal against metal now that he moved more northward, more of sudden and abrupt sorts of clanging sounds than anything else though. Perhaps there was a fight going on? He wouldn't be in the least bit suprised if Gabriel had found a new friend already. With the little knowlege that he had of the Vampire, he could tell that at least.
"Well, would you look at that," Avio commented under his breath as he came more into the open. He witnessed what he had figured just a moment earlier; it was indeed Gabriel and a new friend of his 'sparring' it seemed. "I could just as easily get one shot off at the girl, but then Gabriel'd probably kill me," Avio thought to himself, deciding against shouldering his weapon to help out his comrade. "If things get too ugly, I'll help him out then," he reasoned with himself taking what cover he could find in the underbrush after he unshouldered his rifle. He knew that his thoughts contradict themselves too much, but in this case he'd just have to live with his second guess.
Avio's face began to perspire as he had thoughts of what would likely happen if he took the shot now. Gabriel running from his current position to slash his head off, and some other thoughts that were just as bad entered his head as well. This turned his power on and soon enough both he and his clothes were blended in with the forest underbrush. "Now to just sit and wait," Avio thought, getting the fight into his gun's scope. He kept his finger off of the trigger but the center of the crosshairs on the girl that Gabriel was fighting.

Gabriel closed his eyes with a smile, letting the buckle his his eyes. Barely even feeling it, he opened his eyes to snarl, but was interrupted as he saw her fist flying at his jaw. Letting his mouth go slack, Gabriel felt the punch connect with his mouth, kicking off the ground as he did so and wrenching his naginata from her grasps. As his head flew back, he let his body and legs follow, lashing out with his right foot as he flipped backwards.
Planting one hand on the ground, he back handspringed, landing in a crouch with his naginata outwards, hand clenched in the middle. Smirking slightly, a bit of blood leaking from the corner of his mouth, Gabriel straightened. "Well, not as bad as I thought...But lets finish." Closing his eyes, he concentrated a moment, letting his mind focus on the light particles around him and his weapon. In a few moments, he and his weapon faded to nothing, vanishing to let the light pass perfectly through them.
"Lets see who's skills are superior then. I'm sure you have some mutant abilities with that skill." came Gabriel's dead voice. Running foreward, feet still making small indents in the grass, he let out a flurry with his naginata, aiming from her head to her stomach, then continuing to sweep across both legs.
[[Okay, I'm really out of it, hence the choppyness. x.x I'll be back a bit later. ^^;;]]

Sithe sat, his brown-blonde hair fluttering slightly in the slight breeze. A lit cigar hung out of a corner of his mouth He took a puff, blowing the smoke out the other side of his mouth, before extinguishing the cigar under his foot. Getting up, Sithe looked around, his face a palette of disinterest. If only I could have gone with that recon group. Sithe thought, looking out over the small company that he commanded, his dark eyes imitating his look of disinterest. The few that were under his command were considered elite.
Sithe's ablity allowed him to train his soldiers to be extremely quick an precise in their movements, allowing for extreme effeciency, which paid off on missions and such.
He walked over to one of the many command posts that were scattered across the forest, poking his head in in hopes receiving a mission. "Anything?" he asked the one that was stationed there. "Yeah, solo mission for you, sir." The guy said, handing him a sheet of paper with the information neccessary to the mission on it. "Thanks." Sithe said, accepting the piece of paper. Stepping back outside he frowned over the paper. You are to go to Avio and Gabriel and report any happenings back to the outpost that you received this mission from. the message read. Discarding the paper with a flick of his hand, Sithe sighed. "Why a boring mission?" he asked himself, before setting out. He quickly increased his speed, weaving in and out of the trees at a spped equalling that of fifty kilometers an hour. May as well check on Avio first. he thought, his feet gliding over the ground noislessly.
He heard some noises that sounded particularly like fighting. Heading in that direction, Sithe came upon Gabriel and some young girl fighting. Coming to an abrupt, but silent stop, Sithe looked out on the fight. He kneeled in the brush, not wanting tobe seen unless needed. He quickly took a look around, and noticed an odd shape of ground lying a few feet away from him. Drawing his daito a little, Sithe moved silently towards what he assumed was a figure. "Uhh, Avio?" he asked queitly, now about a foot away from the rough lump on the ground.

Messiah lurched backwards in order to evade the kick, watching him keenly with the utmost attention. Chest heaved slightly, her ribs aching with each breath she took. Still, Messiah had always been a rather stubborn girl and had no intention of paying her pain any mind until the fight was over. Dark eyes narrowed when he vanished, though his voice told her that he was still very much there.
Frosty gaze was locked on the indentations in the grass, her mind churning to calculate an estimation of his height in order to make out where he'd be. As soon as Messiah noticed that the footprints had gotten much too close for comfort, she leapt to the side, the blade causing a thin scratch to go down from her neck to her stomach. She nearly cursed when she realized that had she hesitated a moment longer, she would have come out with much more than just a minor scrape.
Diving towards her discarded weapon, the villager snatched it up hastily, clutching it tightly. "You prodded into my mind, did you not? You should be aware of my power. But, alas, I suppose I never gave you the chance to finish your prying, now did I?" The sixteen year old smirked coyly at him, shifting the position of her weapon. "My abilities give me no help in battle, but I suppose I should be accustomed to unfair fights by now. I'll fight you with my own strength alone... I'm sure that's all I'll need in the end." Messiah dashed forward, a glance given to the grass in order to figure out where he most likely was. She lashed out with her weapon towards his legs, hoping that she hadn't misjudged his position. Either way, she'd hit him eventually.

Gabriel sighed, shaking his head as she spoke as if she had the upper hand. "My my, what an annoyance you are, complaining about being underhanded in battle. Fine, I'll humor you." he said, smirking as he let his control on the light go. He reapeared abruptly, watching as she neared. He leapt in her direction, though slightly angled as she came near, sliding beside her weapon and striking out with his own as he passed, twirling it around as he spun to strike at her exposed back.
As he struck, his mind sensed another's presence. 'It couldn't be Avio...He knows how to guard his thoughts too well. Idiot amateurs...' his mind snarled. The part of his mind apart from the fight lashed out in the direction the noise came from, a warning of mental pain to whomever came near. He didn't want his fight interrupted. After all, it'd been a while since he'd had some fun.

"Annoyance? Perhaps, though I can't say you are any less than troublesome either, darling." Messiah remarked coolly, before feeling the cold metal lodge into her back. She hissed in pain, crimson blood splattering to the ground and staining the grass a rusty red. The woman winced as she moved sharply forward in order to have the naginata pulled from her back.
The young woman was fully aware that blood loss was her main issue at the moment, not so much the injuries themselves. Her wounds weren't extremely fatal, since she had done quite well in dodging any major attacks, but more and more of her blood spilled each time she moved so relentlessly. Whirling around fluidly, Messiah crouched down, holding her naginata straight across in front of her. Without so much as an audible breath, she suddenly rushed forward, right at him I order to pummel into him. If she succeeded, he'd most likely manage to get in another stab but she was quite sure it'd also result in he being thrown onto his back. If that was the case, Messiah was sure to follow.

Gabriel pulled back roughly as she lunged foreward, twisting and wrenching his blade out cruelly. He let his weapon tip fall as he smirked, eyeing the blood on the ground with a lustful look. "Your blood looks and smells nice..." he remarked in a cruel, dreamish manner. He looked up, seeing her spin and face him.
Expecting her to lunge and swing her naginata, Gabriel raised his weapon defensively. He blinked, though, as she sped right past, barrelling into him before he could swing his weapon around to strike at her. The wind knocked out of him, he fell onto his back, grunting slightly as her shoulder struck into his ribs. His double-edged naginata flew out of his hand, as his back knuckles hit the ground hard. Wincing slightly, he slashed at her exposed side with his extended claws, growling.

((Oh yes, I'm a lump of ground xd ))
Tapping his right foot twice, Avio confirmed that it was indeed himself and that he wished to not be bothered at the current moment. He needed to make sure that Gabriel wouldn't end up in something over his head before the war even began by keeping the center of his crosshairs on the opponent. If it weren't for the fact that Gabriel now had himself a practical match in fighting talent, then he would have put down his weapon began conversing with Sithe about whatever he needed, or at least he figured it was Sithe by the sound of his voice. "Dammit Gabriel, why'd you have to go and do something stupid at the dawn of the war!?" he thought to himself as he tried to keep his rifle as still and as accurately aimed as possible.

Messiah tumbled right after him, tossing her own weapon to the side at the realization that it'd either be worthless or work against her in such close quarters. No longer was their fight a mere spar with graceful combating; It was now a brawl for survival, a test of will, talent, and endurance. The girl nearly landed on top of him, but managed to twist her body just slightly do that she fell to the bloody ground to his right, more crimson liquid added to the puddle.
The young woman snarled when his claws dug into her unguarded flesh before turning to try and lash out with her own which, though perhaps not actual talons, were still long and sharp enough to cause some damage to the skin if she applied enough pressure. Messiah kicked savagely towards his abdomen, hoping to bestow upon him at least a decent amount of agony. Though she would not be able to land any decent jab at him with her weapon, Messiah had still kept it with her. Moving with the intent of pressing the blunt staff against his throat in an attempt to pin him, she tried to keep her rigid breathing at bay. Needless to say, it had been a while since she had been so engrossed in a fight, not to mention participated in one that was actually worth while. Or at least hadn't been a complete waste of time.

Immediately clutching his head, Sithe spun, looking at Gabriel. God damnit Gabriel. he thought, forcing himself to keep his thoughts his own, so as to not bother Gabriel. Sithe slowly and silently slid his daito back into it's sheath, and turned to watch the fight. So, Gabriel has found someone worthy of fighting? Quite interesting, I must say. Sithe thought. Maybe I should make a quick run-through, immobilize the opponent a little. Sithe smirked, as he placed a hand on the hilt of his daito. On second thought, not a good idea. If I do that, Gabriel will try to kill me, after he catches me that is.

Gabriel growled as her 'claws' dug into his face, tearing off a bit of flesh and spawning a bit of dark blood. Shoving his arm in the way of her kick, he snarled at the impact, swinging both arms up to catch the staff at his throat. Smiling ruthlessly, Gabriel shifted his body, moving his head out from under the staff and pushing it roughly to the ground. As he did so, he pivoted on his left hand, bringing his right leg down hard at her head. If it connected, she'd either be dazed, or completely knocked out.
His mind traveling to hers, once again, he attempted to pry at her mind, attempting another distraction. Instead of jabbing at her memories, though, he tried to hit the pain sensory part of her mind, invoking pain from nothing all around her body. It wasn't a harsh pain, but enough to cause hesitation.
[[::Blinkblink:: It said in the first paragraph that she tossed away her weapon, but then you said she'd kept it in the second. O.o;; Am I confused? I just went with it, though, so no worries. xD]]

Nephthys Assyria Mercutio lifted a finger up the Benvolio's head and flicked the little bird soundly. "Honestly." Mercutio looked back to the blond again. "You don't think you could fix this, do you?" The albino hated admitting it, but he had an unusual fascination with mutants, and between this and his natural paranoia of new people and the fear they might be lying scum, Benvolio's rather pitiful excuse for an injury was a perfect ploy. His fethered friend knew him far to well. "Of course I can." Aaron grinned. Gently he took the bird into his hand, and healed the spot that blood appeared. "Good as new." He smiled. "Oh, the stew's probably ready." He rummaged for two bowls, and filled them to the brim. Gently, the blonde placed a bowl in front of his guest. "I hope it's to your liking," Aaron nodded. "I made it all myself."

~Celia having wondered where she wasn't supposed to walked back to where the others were. She sighed slightly, and wondered what happened around this place to make it so intresting. It didn't seem as though there were many people and the ones who were there didn't interact with eachother, at least not that she had seen.As she was walking around she noticed a small red flower laying on the ground. It was not planted so she bent down to look at it.As she bent down her dress looked as though it fell in layers on the ground. She gently picked up the flower only to find it was a rose. She wondered what appeared to be a store bought rose was doing out in the forest.Once she had the rose in her hand she stood up again and her dress fell back to normal position. As she looked down at the rose in her hand her hair fell into her face.As it did so she brushed it behind her ears. Not having gotten very far she decided to stop walking so she quietly sat on a fallen tree that was in the camp.~
