Everyone I know ((ecept my closest friends)) hate any type of homosexual book, movie, show, just anything
I brought one of my yaoi mangas to school so I could finish it when I did it was like first period so I had it with me the rest of the day so my best friend comes up to me and asks to read since she likes yaoi too I let her see it then went to my next class 10 minutes later I hear people yelling and is jumping on her because she had a book with two guys kissing in it
I mean come on! they were only kissing! I've seen much more than that before and they can't handle a kissing scene stare

Here in Baltimore it's hard to tell what people find exceptable.I see so many things that have me second guessing what is really meant that I find it hard to draw a line in the sand.I know that most people find it kinda gross and wouldn't like it but they deal with it because it's all around them.I go to an all girls school and the number of Girls who had girlfriends in the school got so bad that they ordered a No Public Display Of Affection Ruling for the school. But the girls in my school don't see any problems with shounene ai or shoujo ai.Still there are some haters who will be like ewwww but I ignore them and read what I like anyway. My two siblings hate my love of shounen ai but I don't really care they're so closed minded.I know my rents definately despise it but that hasn't stopped me from reading it yet.Hell I read it in front of them outloud sometimes and they say nothing so maybe they have some tolerance for it. sweatdrop

My parents are pretty much ok with it, my friends that I meet up with in town don't really care. It's just my friends at school, who are all pretty much homophobics. I go to a catholic school.

Well, I live in the North eastern part of Alabama... The area isn't too tolerant of it... There's one guy that went to my high school that I know of that was gay and I didn't know him well, but he had a lot of friends at school. So, the students at my school aren't too bad about it, even though most of the guys use it as a joke or something, faking kissing and all. There are two guys alone in my 2nd period class that always get real close to kissing but they always pull back before anything happens and start laughing... And, the nearby movie theater refused to show Brokeback Mountain.... My dad's against anything like gays or anything, but I really don't see why it matters. It's not right for the government or ANYONE to tell someone who they can and cannot love. It's really ridiculous... I got in trouble with my mom for liking shounen-ai a few months back, and she thinks I've quit with it, so.. yeah. My area isn't the most accepting, or so I would think....

Hmmmm, most girls I know love it. Either they've read the book, "Boy Meets Boy", watched Brokeback Mountain or read yaoi or watch it. Butttt, alot of guys I know are homophobic, hmmm, but yeah some are alright with it. -Nods-

Well, most girls I know are okay with it. But in my town there are more boys than girls. Its easier for lesbians than for gays here as a matter of numbers. I work in a restruant. The morning shift completly accepts homosexuality and wish they had more gay friends. The night shift is totally intolerant. Makes no sense, but that's the way of things.

I live and grew up mainly in red necked towns too. Though here, it's not greatly supported. I'm around a bunch of catholics and christians who go in a rampage at the any mention of gays or gay marriage. I find it ironic that those types of people tell the gays they are going to hell when it states in the bible not to judge people. There isn't anything wrong with gays or gay marriage, I'm all for it. heart Love is love, no matter what from it is in. As for the people in my town, I'd just better keep my mouth shut about liking yaoi. Yuri is different to them. Most people who think it's discusting for guy on guy, go home and download girl on girl porn. Sadly ironic. Straight people piss me off.. xp

People around my area are accepting.. I go to a school that's very diverse, in sexual orentation, race, and beliefs.
If anything the guys discouage it because they think that I want them in that picture... which would be weird... You have to have guys that are into it... not just forced...

Haha. I don't know anyone in my neighborhood. I also go to a school out of district. Hm...it's more like 25/75 at my school. Most people are against gays/bis/lesbians and naturally they are against yaoi. ^^
