|| Reaper No. 188349
[Where:] [With:] [Feeling:] [Outfit:]
[OOC:]
╔═══════════════════

Reaper No. 188349 couldn’t help but take in the scenery of the swimming area. He cast his gaze outwards towards the unending sea, where off in the distance, he could spot a few lone islands, a light mist enveloping them slightly as the sun blazed above. Even though this was merely another area located within The Well, the weather felt real, as though they had been transported to an entirely different place, separate from The Well. For all they knew, perhaps they were. One could only guess the magics at play. Regardless, it was both baffling and encapsulating.

Furthermore, this talk of Soul Sight left him intrigued and even more curious to how they’re new ‘lives’ as reapers would play out. A rather blunt statement from the youngest of the group caused 188349 to turn his gaze towards the lad as the youth spied the group of souls searching for the necklace. One could only assume he’d attempted using the Soul Sight. It was to be expected, they had only learnt of Soul Sight’s existence just now, it made sense that they wouldn’t be able to see anything without more to go on.

The voice of the blonde would draw his gaze away from the group as she queried how it was they were to identify the life energy. Chamberlain’s voice would adopt a more cheerful air as he laughed lightly, remarking on the group’s interest and enthusiasm. The senior reaper divulged more information on the nature of Soul Sight and life energy. Most interesting, everything they saw, including themselves, was composed of life energy in The Well. Everything from the sand, to their clothes, to their skin and the muscles and bones beneath. In particular, each soul’s life energy takes a form the soul envisions. To demonstrate, Chamberlain revealed to the group as he changed the form of handkerchief into a pocket watch. Though a small demonstration, it was still a marvel. That life energy could morph to the will of it’s host, it made sense it some form, yet it was still astonishing. 188349 looked at his hand in response…“A form in which I recognise…” he pondered to himself. Looking back to Chamberlain, he listened as their mentor described the form in which life energy presents itself to their Soul Sight.

“Focus my vision…couldn’t hurt to try I suppose.” Looking forward to the group of souls once more, 188349 did his best to put theory into practice. As he looked, he saw nothing, just the group scurrying, digging and searching. A few moments past and he still saw no change, unable to help the slight feeling of frustration that began to rise. However, as he focused further, harder, he spotted something out of the ordinary, tiny little pulses emerging from around the souls. His eyes widened a little, “I…I see it…the energy…” Taking a few steps forward, he looked on, more and more of the souls became surrounded in the strange, wonderous phenomena. It was like bearing witness to a natural marvel. In a sense, it was. The streams and flows of energy around the souls pulsated and reverbed, dancing in brilliant auras. The life energy looked beautiful in its own unique little way.

However, now came the connection. From there 188349 began trying to search for the necklace, though he made sure not to stray to far away from the group.

Having hoped his remark had fallen on deaf ears, the Lad would avert his gaze as the White Haired man's attention turned towards him before focusing on the blonde female as she made her own enquiries as to how they would pull off such a feat... He had to admit he was a little embarrassed to have let the comment slip out, but would focus his attention back towards Chamberlain as the Reaper went into detail about how a Soul appeared only as it had once perceived itself when it was living. Their Clothes were an obvious part of them and it would be revealed that everything the individual had once felt was real, would in turn be replicated by their minds in the afterlife...He would tilt his head as their Guide mentioned that this extended to them as well before narrowing his gaze as Chamberlain pulled a handkerchief from his pocket.

Were they not in a location that had already proven itself fantastical to the group by means of doors and entryways that dropped them into mind-blowing locations, he may just have believed that the Reaper's 'Handkerchief-to-Pocket-Watch' demonstration had been nothing but a swift-handed trick that Magicians often used to amuse young children at parties...but with his eyes already opened by the day's prior settings, he would instead tilt his head in the opposing direction, listening to the man's explanation about the item being real because he had made it so and that they too could learn to manipulate such objects once they knew how to take control of their own perceptions...

Subconsciously he took a brief rummage around in his own pockets - interested in attempting this trick for himself - but even with the slightest movement around the pouch within which his hands had become situated, it quickly appeared that his pockets were as vacant as his capacity to recall his past... Instead he watched as Chamberlain returned the pocket watch to its original appearance and turned to face the souls still searching for the lost object in the sands.

As the Reaper advised them to treat their 'Sight' similarly to how they did their breath, somewhere in the back of his mind, the Lad would recall someone mentioning to "Jest leave 'em be" and that "Their breathing will return to normal once they've keeled over..." Although a little alarming to recall something as such, it actually made sense as without being aware of how they were accomplishing such a feat, they wouldn't be focusing on how much oxygen they were taking in - which mean their body would do what came naturally... He cast a glance around his cohorts at this point, curious to see what they were doing following Chamberlain's encouragement before stepping away and plonking himself down on a nearby knoll.

Drawing a knee up to his chest he closed his eyes, taking several deep breaths in and out before opening them again. Naturally he should have known the desired result wouldn't be so easily obtained - especially as he still appeared to be trying too hard - but as his eyes scanned the scene he now tried to imagine the searching 'souls' as a cluster of Orbs, subconsciously willing them to take on an array of colours in the hopes it might help somehow... After several minutes of trying, the Youth came to the conclusion that it just wasn't working and exhaled another sigh. He didn't doubt the others were now hard at work trying to focus on their own perceptions, but rather than get worked up about being unable to see anything, he instead allowed his gaze to drift past the souls towards the ocean - why waste the energy when he could use the time to just enjoy his surroundings?

'Aannnd there we go...' Rolling his eyes as he heard his soon-to-become Competitive Rival mention that he was indeed seeing an energy of sorts, the Lad would cease in his attempt to 'relax' and turn his head just a fraction to watch from the corner of his eye as the shape of the White-Haired Man appeared in his peripheral vision... How was he able to see what the Youth could not? What was he doing differently? Growing impatient, 166002 pushed himself to his feet, dusting off his pants before scowling up at the man's face, trying to follow his gaze before pausing as a thought crossed his mind...

Turning his attention towards the searchers the Lad would flip his Mask up so it rested on top of his head before taking another look at the scene... It was certainly Much brighter without the bulk of the visor shielding his features from the light, but it also allowed him a better view of his surroundings - Not that it revealed anything new... "Hmm..." Flipping the mask back down so it once again covered his face, he now focussed upon what appeared to be a 'Heat-Shimmer' in the sand before moving his head from side-to-side to see if it disappeared... 'There's definitely something there...' Mumbling to himself he would narrow his eyes, stepping away from the group and sliding down the sandy bank before striding towards the shimmering patch of sand... There was nothing to say what he was seeing was anything but a trick of the light on a warm summer's day, but if it Was something, he wanted to get to it first!

The violet-eyed lady's insecurities about having been so quick to answer diminished a bit when the taller gentleman with the white hair addressed her with a positive reinforcement that he had been on the same mental wavelength as her. Since he hadn't said much up to this point, she was flattered he chose to address her directly and she offered him a warm smile in return. Her enthusiasm only grew with the additional reassurance from Chamberlain that she was on the right track. "Thank you" You could almost hear the relief in her words. She turned her gaze then to the ginger haired one amongst them who opted that he couldn't see the necklace in question. She took a step closer to him and whispered. "Me neither; but we're all new at this." She gave him a playful wink then stood up straight and turned her attention back to the searchers. She tilted her head a bit and tried to clear her mind.

Reaper 193485 almost immediately lost focus when her partner spoke up. She had asked a very important question. The purple haired lady had assumed he would be leaving them to their own devices at this point; but if Chamberlain were indeed going to give them additional instruction, she'd be most eager to have it. He explained the Souls being a manifestation of how they perceived themselves and she again looked down at herself as well as at the group. They were definitely all unique in their own ways. Different styles, perhaps from different time periods as well as different locations. She was quite interested to learn the kind of person she was in life, but at the same time she wasn't the most eager- what if she liked herself as she is now better than she liked the person she had been in life?

Her jaw physically lowered a bit in awe when Chamberlain morphed his handkerchief in to a pocket watch. She refrained from looking around at the others' reactions, however, to not escalate the situation or draw more attention to herself. The way he explained it made logical sense. It was matter, as any elementary school science teacher could explain. The item was still made of the same energy or material and still occupied the same space as before. It just looked different because that's how Chamberlain wanted it to look at that moment.

She finished repeating what he'd just said in her own words and tuned back in to hear him explain how their powers were akin to breathing. Once he finished explaining, she herself took a deep, slow breath and tried to focus on the searchers again. When she was finally able to clear her mind, the scene before her went black. The beach drifted in to nothingness and all she saw were amoeba-like objects moving where the people had just been. Each of them had their own unique blend of colors and ways of moving throughout the space. She could still feel their presence. The greenish hue that she associated with the youngest of their group began moving swiftly toward something he could see that she could not. She was focused on nothing and all of them at the same time. Though they looked little more than odd shapes at this moment, she knew who was who based on the way they felt within her mind's eye. She located the owner of the necklace and memorized that unique energy signature.

The young woman would begin moving herself, locking on to the unique energy signature and following it like a string. The energy felt heavier as she began closing the gap between herself and the others around her. She subconsciously followed the 'line' toward the woman until she found what she was looking for- as if the 'string' had frayed and broke off, the object had to be along a secondary energy source that looked and felt the same as this one. She traced it diagonally to where she believed it ended. Snapping back to reality, she had dropped her boots by Chamberlain and was now bending at the knee where the water and the sand met. Her fingers dug in to the moist sand and clasped around something. She wasn't sure if it was the trinket or a shell or something else, but that didn't stop her breathing from increasing in excitement nonetheless.

If I make another move, if I take another step

Reaper No. 182949

User Image
182949 watched her mentor as he explained how the troop would find the missing heirloom. As he explained himself he would demonstrate how they could alter their form at will. This means she could willingly change her outfit or what she had on her at any given moment. Watching the handkerchief turn into a pocket watch and back again was quite shocking. Her eyes widened as her mind began to race with possibilities. As Chamberlain continued she would listen intently. There were many ways to find the missing item, but each would need to at least use one method to get started. Taking a quick look around at her teammates she would see them all go into very deep focus. Deciding she would now take her stab at it she would close her eyes momentarily to gather her focus.

Not too long after the group began its attempts she heard the older male speak. He was able to see something, color. Interesting. So with a bit of focus and patience, one would be able to at least filter the colors and see the different colors of the surrounding souls. The younger male would simply make noise to himself. Electing not to share with the group what he was seeing. As she opened her eyes with intense focus she watched as her fellow female seemed to have figured it out. She had begun digging after analyzing the area for an extended period of time. Taking her focus off her squad she looked out at the woman who was missing a part of her soul and stared intently.

After some time she began to see something akin to heat shimmers around each person. And the longer she stared and the more she focused the more noticeable it became. Instead of a heat shimmer, it was now a full-blown pulse. A rhythmic pulsing would ripple off each individual soul gently as if a droplet of water had hit the surface of a still pond. Each soul had its own rhythm, its own ripple. Some soul's ripples were fast, excited, almost erratic. Others were slow, methodical, consistent. Each soul's rhythm made them unique. No soul had the same ripple. She had never imagined she could see something like this, something so uniquely beautiful. She imagined that if she focused for longer and expanded her thinking she would be able to distinguish their own colors as well as their rhythms and shapes. But for now, she was happy to have gotten this far.

Looking around she would try to see if she could find the soul ripple that matched the woman's own ripple. Scanning the beach she would slowly look at a section of beach at a time waiting to see if the ripple would pop up and show her where it was. Seeing as how big the beach was this would take some time. Her comrade seemed to know where it was but it wouldn't stop her from searching just in case. She was originally very concerned about this new life she found herself in. But with each new thing, she was learning she was starting to enjoy herself more and more. As if the anxieties of just a few moments ago never existed. " I think I can see a pulse of some kind, more like a ripple actually. " She would say trying her best to sound calm and collected. She wanted to talk more but she didn't want to break everyone's focus. So for now she would hold the idol chatter.

then it all would fall apart, there'd be nothing of me left

Watching them all eagerly, Chamberlain silenced himself and watched as each of the new reapers took to his words, and started trying to put them into action. Chamberlain's arms naturally fell at his side and behind him as his hands met and clasped behind his back. He looked from one recruit to the next, focusing on each of them as they tried to focus their own senses, and then shifting his own sense eagerly to watch for the changes they might succeed. When the first of them had a slight shift in their signature, Chamberlain smiled widely as they started to speak about what they were seeing.

One by one, they went from frustration to a possible elation as each one of them had some modicum of success. Continuing to watch them, Chamberlain started to move slowly as some of them started to step off from the group. Some strayed nearby, others went a bit further, but one took a different approach that Chamberlain was looking for. 193485 took note of the young girl that was searching for her amulet, and then from her, she started to follow the energy, directly to what each of them was looking for. Chamberlain too looked at the girl, and with a much more experienced and greater focus, focused on the energy that was pulling from her towards the sands in the distance. As 193485 followed the energy source, the "string" of the connective energy between the girl and the amulet so to say, Chamberlain followed her, seemingly unnoticed by the young reaper herself. At the "strings" weakest point, the new reaper must have lost the connection, because she stopped there and suddenly dropped her boots at his feet, and went towards a spot that she thought the "string" was leading to.

Although she was now searching blind, she was still in the right area, so Chamberlain simply watched as she shifted her hands through the sand. He watched as she drew closer and closer to the item until she picked it up and opened her hand to see what she had found. Chamberlain would assume elation at the sight, for she had found the missing amulet. "Well done," Chamberlain would say while stepping over to her, and putting his hand out to take the item. "You've got a good grasp on how it works, just need a little more work on your focus," he with a nod before looking back towards everyone else and waving them all over.

"Remember that any energy source formed by a soul, can only maintain its form 'from' that soul," He would say with emphasis before again pulling out the handkerchief once more. "To clarify, if you imagine this piece of string as a part of my energy, you can see that the handkerchief is tied to me through it because the item is created from me," he said while holding up the handkerchief and making a short red string appear in his other hand, tying it to the handkerchief and holding it up for them all to see. "So if I was to let it go," he said quickly while letting the handkerchief fall into the wind and blow a few feet away from him. "Then the item will still be tied directly to me by my own energy because the item cannot exist on its own," he pointed out, giving them both a lesson in life energy and showing them one example as to how Soul Sight could be utilized. "If the energy were to be cut off, or disconnected," He said while bringing a hand up, and suddenly swiping his hand down at the red string as a small blade suddenly formed in his hand. The string was cut effortlessly, and the handkerchief, along with the end of the string that was cut off suddenly disappeared altogether.

Looking back at the little girl just then, Chamberlain lifted the Amulet into the air and made a small swipe in between it and the girl, and the Amulet suddenly disappeared from his hand, as did the blade in his other. He then walked over to the young girl and knelt in front of her. "Hey!" He said enthusiastically while kneeling beside her and pointing at her overalls pocket. "Isn't that your necklace right there?" he asked lightly as the little girl looked up at him with surprise. "Really?!" She let out as she looked down to her pocket, the Amulet suddenly appeared with the chain hanging out of her pocket. "How did it get in there?!" She asked suddenly while pulling it out and enthusiastically holding it up with a big smile on her face. "I don't know? Maybe you took it off so that you wouldn't lose it?" He said jokingly, and the girl chuckled at the silliness of it all, rolling her eyes playfully before heading back off to the beach.

"Of course, there is much more to learn, and from what I've just seen, it seems you are all eager to get started, perhaps we should finish the tour another time," Chamberlain said while turning his gaze back at the new reapers that all seemed to have a gleam in their eyes. Looking out towards the sea, Chamberlain lifted his hand towards the sky and released what seemed to be a firework from his palm. It shot into the air and burst into a small beautiful explosion, and then the sun slowly disappeared, and a beautiful tapestry of stars filled the night sky, the waters sparkling in reflection. Looking back at the reapers now, he stepped back towards the exit that would lead them to the Well and held a hand out as if extending an invitation. "Well, should we get started? Or would you rather continue the tour?"

It was hard to think that only moments beforehand, he'd resigned himself to just sitting down and enjoying the scenery whilst the others attempted to find the lost trinket, but after allowing himself to believe he'd actually seen something, the Lad now found his confidence dwindling with every step as the closer he got to where he believed he'd seen the shimmer, any visible signs that he was onto something quickly blended with the sand around him...

"There has to be Something here...?" Not wanting to think he'd wasted his time following a mirage, 166002 began to scan every blemish with a sense of desperation, Green Orbs flicked this way and that, lifting occasionally to note the locations of the others before shifting back to the sand where he hoped to see something that would suggest he was at least looking in the right place...?

He would spend the next few minutes pacing a little furrow into the ground where he'd originally seen the shimmer before casting a final glance towards the other Reapers and exhaling a subdued sigh as he plonked himself down in the sand. "I give up..." Reaching out, he would pick up a handful of substrate and allow it to filter through his fingers, watching as it scattered on the breeze before lifting his gaze once again as he heard Chamberlain congratulate one of the others on their find... Realising that the purple-haired female had beaten him once again - first to a partner and now to the missing necklace - the Lad would narrow his eyes briefly before shrugging off his disappointment with a roll of his eyes... At least someone had been successful - although it would have proven quite interesting if they'd all come up fruitless... "I wonder if that's ever happened...?" leaning forward in preparation to push himself to his feet he would ponder over how many others had failed in such a task prior to their arrival before drawing in a sharp breath as he leant on something hidden within the sand...

"Ow...!" Transferring the bulk of his weight onto his other hand, the Youth closed his fingers around the object which had dug so mercilessly into his palm and rose to his feet, dusting off his pants before opening said palm to reveal the base of a spiral shell - its interior decorated with beautiful mother of pearl... Using his thumb to roll the seashell over he watched as a small bead of blood began to form from where the tip had pressed into his skin, "Well...at least I found Something..." licking away the blood he pocketed the shell as a keepsake before making his way back just in time to watch their Guide retrieve his handkerchief from his pocket once more.

He was still amazed as to how the man could summon objects into his hands as if from nowhere, but allowed his awe to take a back seat as he watched Chamberlain tie the newly formed red string to his handkerchief before allowing it to drop, letting it tumble a ways across the sand as it was caught by the breeze. The act of cutting the string promptly caused both items to disappear - which hadn't been unexpected - but as the man replicated the act with the Amulet - making his way over to the young girl - the Lad would watch, his head tilted as it seemed to reappear safely nestled within the pocket of her overalls.

"So if the string is cut, will the item always return to its owner? Provided they remember about it of course..." he would await his answer quietly before tracking the tail of the firework as it shot into the sky, exploding into a burst of colours which, as the embers fell and faded appeared to bring the light down with their descent... "Whoa..."

The way the sea seemed to mirror the sky was mesmerising and he was sure there were far more constellations up there than he could ever fathom, but as Chamberlain extended the offer of continuing with their tour, or getting started with their training, the Youth was now torn... Had they the chance to linger, he knew he would have sat there for hours just enjoying the scenery, yet having come to the stark realisation that he was nowhere near the calibre of his comrades, the option to at least get on the first rung of the ladder that would see his skills improve began to seem more favourable... Still, like before he would hold his tongue and wait to see what the others would choose before making his decision... Who knew what their Guide had in store for them next?

|| Reaper No. 188349
[Where:] [With:] [Feeling:] [Outfit:]
[OOC:]
╔═══════════════════

188349 found himself growing in both enthusiasm and curiosity at the Soul Sight ability. He continued to focus on the budding auras of energy that stemmed from the searching souls. As he pondered and searched, he looked to his right to find that the young, purple-haired woman took a different path compared to the rest of them. She had wondered into the water in search for the necklace. In truth, seeing as that was where most of the souls were searching, it would have perhaps made the most logical sense to search there first. As it happens, it seemed he let himself become to enamoured with the abilities that were being revealed to him. No matter.

He looked to the rest of his colleagues, detecting a similar sense of curiosity from the blonde, whereas the youngest of their group seemed to search rather frantically for the necklace in question. Perhaps the boy was eager to prove himself, it wasn’t a stretch to imagine. Most youth often strived for success; it was simply a natural state of mind.

He was about to make his way over to the girl with amethyst eyes, until he spotted Chamberlain make the move before him. Therefore, he waited for a moment to avoid getting in the mentor’s way. From what it seemed, it appeared the girl hit the nail on the head, having discovered the location of the necklace. 188349 watched on as Chamberlain called over the owner of the trinket, the soul in question radiating excitement and gratitude for the necklace’s recovery. 188349 donned a contemplative look, gently stroking his chin. “Seems that girl definitely shows promise… he thought as he looked to the young reaper who happened upon what they were looking for.
The more time passed in this otherworldly realm, the more 188349 seemed to notice that despite the wonderous and fantastical elements they have all witnessed thus far, there seemed to be an underlying, acute relation to ordinary human experiences as well. In this instance, it was clear that regardless of Soul Sight’s nature, there were some who adjusted to it more quickly than others. Not that he held a grudge, in the end, things were as they were. He saw no point in getting sore over the achievement of another.

Looking to the lad from earlier, it seemed as though the youth expressed defeat and disappointment. Though 188349 couldn’t see the boy’s face, the youth’s body language seemed to insinuate his dismay at having not found the necklace. This provoked 188349’s thoughts even further. Perhaps the lad was competitive then?

Regardless, he spied Chamberlain, who waved them over and followed suit. Once they had all regrouped, 188349 gave the purpled haired girl a light nod, “Impressive.” he spoke simply. Looking forward to Chamberlain, he listened as their mentor proceeded to further demonstrate the nature of the life energy, how that an object born of a soul’s mind cannot exist without that soul. Should the energy become severed or disconnected, the object in question will cease to be.

“So the Soul acts almost like a wellspring of energy for the object in question…” he spoke rhetorically. He would shoot a look towards Chamberlain’s hand as what appeared to be a firework shot out from his palm, bursting into the sky in a myriad of beautiful colours. As soon as the embers faded, the once bright blue daylight sky became darkened, littered with stars, stretching as far as the eye could see. 188349 observed the rippling ocean waters as they reflected the twinkling beauties above. The sight was just as breath-taking as the spring garden from before.

Chamberlain once again gave the quartet the option of training or the tour. 188349 turned to the senior in response, “Personally, I feel it would be a shame not to learn more of The Well and it’s confines having already come this far. Having said that, I’m not opposed to putting it to a vote as we did before.” With that, Chamberlain awaited the responses from the rest.

Reaper 193485 gasped and jumped to her feet, most likely spraying stray water and sand on her mentor whom she was startled to see had followed her from their original standing point. She beamed when he congratulated her and handed over the item to him with a breathless elation she hadn't thought possible until that moment. She responded to his constructive criticism with a nod of her own. Of course she wasn't perfect at it, since this was her first attempt. She took pride in knowing she did well, regardless of the hiccups along the way. She grabbed her fallen boots on the way back to meet up with the others. She sheepishly thanked the male with the white hair when he complimented her efforts as well, before turning back toward their teacher.

The female with the violet attire tried very hard not to blink through Chamberlain's demonstration, as he was both fast talking and seamless; an artist that any practicing slight-of-hand magician could aspire to be. What he said made sense from a scientific standpoint. She vaguely remembered something from a class about how matter could not be created or destroyed, simply moved or shifted. This is the parallel concept that she mentally tied his demonstration to to help herself better retain the information at hand. The kid with the slumped shoulders and vibrantly red hair asked an interesting follow up question...

Moving forward, Chamberlain presented them once again with the option of the tour, or training. She watched the singular firework display in awe as the sky transitioned gently from day to night. The breeze that blew afterward seemed chillier than the previous ones due to the lack of warmth from the sunlight, and a small shiver went through her. 193485 bit her lip in contemplation. She knew he partner wanted to train, probably now more than ever after not succeeding in the first task presented. However, having the tour completed would give herself more of a solid foundation of their new home. The taller of the gentlemen seemed to favor the tour as well, and suggested a vote. However, if they voted the way she assumed they all would at this point it would most likely end in a tie.

She spoke up again. "A vote sounds ideal. I vote-" she hesitated. If she changed her original vote to keep training, would the others find her cocky; like she was only doing so because of how well she just did? Her shoulders visibly fell at the idea. She wouldn't want them to think as much, so she shook off the idea of changing her answer and cleared her throat. "I vote we stick with the tour. One could easily get lost in a place like this if they didn't know where they were going." She suddenly became very interested in the nails on the tips of her fingers that clasped her boots, as if she was purposely refusing to make eye contact with anyone else at this point.

If I make another move, if I take another step

Reaper No. 182949

182949 was a bit surprised that her partner would be the first to succeed in finding the amulet. Perhaps surprised wasn't the emotion, more envious. But with a soft smile on her face, she was more glad than anything else. Her partner seemed to adapt quickly to things and this was a quality that she admired. As the violet-clad girl trotted back in victory, the platinum blond would simply watch with a smile. Approaching her and the rest of the group, she realized upon stopping for a moment that her vision had returned to normal. Perhaps she would be able to do it on command later? She would put the thought aside for now. As their instructor began demonstrating how parts of the soul could be taken and transformed. This was quite interesting to the young woman. One could transform a part of the soul into anything it seemed, and if it is severed from you it would simply return to you. It seemed like a pretty nifty ability. Perhaps they would get to learn it at some point. Her teammates would speak up with questions of their own, each with an interesting perspective.

As Chamberlain interacted with the little girl and showed her that her necklace had returned to her, the child would light up with excitement and run off after a quick exchange with their mentor. It would be at this point that the nearly white-haired woman would look to her comrades. The youngest looking of the three would seem dejected in his body language. But having found a nearby shell in the sand seemed like he didn't actually care too much about what was happening one way or another after asking his initial question. The older-looking male on the other hand seemed deeply interested in what was going on. Lastly, her partner seemed elated with herself but was also very interested in what their mentor had been demonstrating.

Chamberlain would return to the group presenting them with two options. Continue the tour or begin training. She wouldn't get to think on this too much as her instructor would shoot a firework into the sky! As it exploded it would light up the now dimming sky and just like that it was night. As she watched it fade into dust and the night take over the beach she would walk back to the exit with her group. Thinking hard on what she wanted now she would mentally sigh. She knew that out of every person here she was the only one who really wanted to dig into the training aspect of their job. But she would shake her head with a smile as her comrades began answering Chamberlain. Naturally, the older male and her partner wanted to continue the tour. The youngest remained silent. "We should continue the tour." She would say with an even, calm tone. She knew there was no point in voting for the contrary as she would most likely be outvoted. Might as well go with the flow. Seeing that her partner was staring quite hard at her nails she would reach out and touch her shoulder and grasp it softly. Her partner would jump in surprise but turn to look at her. Tilting her head slightly to the side she would smile brightly before speaking. "You did great back there!" She would say this with sincerity and excitement before releasing her partner's shoulder.

then it all would fall apart, there'd be nothing of me left
