The princess managed a beatiful smile before falling back to sleep her beautiful night was in her sweet dreams until the following morning a man came through it was a standard guard whistling as he said,"You are relieved of ya duty sir I'll let you get some rest", he said leaning against the door frame yawning,"Was a good party aye mate?", he said,"Buttered scones in the kitchen if ya hungry", he told him as a maid came through with a tray for the princess,"Hey there suzey ya got me some food?", he teased her as she clicked her tongue,"Hush now hamus I'm trying to take care of my lady", she said walking through the door with her head held high the guard laughed,"Woman be rather funny huh?", he snickered while he stood post as the maid sat the food on the end table she turned to draw up the curtains and stoke the fire,"Tell that page boy to bring in some firewood we are low!", she shouted after zero as she went about trying to warm the room and let in the sunshine for the princess,"Its time to awaken my lady!", she said loudly but sweetly to rouse the princess awake.

"Defender! wow great honor!", he said bowing his head to him,"Sorry didn't mean to take it away I was just sent by the captain of the guards to relieve you he assumed you been here all night and needed rest", he shrugged,"But if ya alright thats fine", he told him,"I'll report back to my captain and be off on another shift", he smiled leaving him alone to the door as the maid came out sighing,"My lady is still very tired bless her soul I shall send for the doctors attendant to check on her this morning", she told zero before leaving them both alone in the morning as she was sitting up in bed but her head nodded every now and then as if she didn't want to wake and all she wanted was rest, the food sat untouched by the table,"My dear knight..", she said quietly,"You still stand guard? so noble of you... having not left me regardless of your own health", she said quietly feeling a soft breathe escape her lips,"I am sorry I am still a tad bit unwell perhaps I pushed myself to... hard..?", she said

"Do you not also need food? You who has been in battle since you left and come home to watch over me.. what if I were to ask you to rest?", she said quietly she didn't want to command him seeing as he was her close knight but she didn't want him to be worn either,"I do feel I shall feel better with more rest.. but I fear if I am to get more of it perhaps I will not wake up...", she said quietly,"Silly for me to feel that way", she told him smiling,"I am just tired and will soon be at rest.. but do take some rest as well My dear knight", she told him feeling herself slip back amongst the propped pilows only to fall back asleep within a moment or so f the conversation; It was barely less than an hour when the physican's attedant came in to check on her seeing she was sleep he just surveyd her temperature and felt to see if she was still breathing,"Everything seems to be in order.. she wont be eating that might as well eat it sir", said the woman leaving him,"Or i'll have that girl by to pick up the remains if your not hungry", she told him;

Hours passed and the councilor Effohaul was not liking that the princess had not stirred yet he had with him a group of different physicians from out of the main city meet with him by the front gate as they approached the princess's chambers,"We would like to see her highness the state of the kingdom is at state", said Effohaul as he looked at Zero shrewdly,"Please announce to her majesty that we are here", he informed him as there was a small army of nurses behind them it was a massive group of about 20 people but most people knew who had the charge if Ambrelle was making orders it was Effohaul the main councilor.

"She has been resting a long time.. all of last night and nearly all today", said Effohaul,"I would like to speak with her maj-", he was cut off by a creaking at the door as Ambrelle was standing there robed rubbing her eyes,"Yes? Councilor?", she said softly looking up at the large number of people a million to one voices began to speak and ask questions only for Effohaul to silence them with a loud shout of enough,"This is ridicule you", he snapped point to the closest doctor,"Take two nurse and examine her highness as for you", he glared at the knight,"I shall have someone come back and relieve you", he rolled his eyes as the party trooped out and ambrelle turned to Zero,"Its okay he worries... alot.. having alot on his shoulder since father died he has to basically run the kingdom ya know..", she said quietly allowing herself to be tooken back inside set back up and then examined she was then told she would be able to sit up and eat and just lay around most of the day,"My dear night", she said allowing for him to come in as she motioned for the seat next to her bed,"Good new they say I will be fully recovered tomorrow thank you for allowing me to rest", she said kindly,"I am most grateful".

She smiled,"I am glad that you are so patient with me...", she said,"If you need please take rest.. I couldn't bare to think of you up another night having to endure no sleep at all", she said sighing,"It is very hard on the body even if your used to it I am sure", she replied quietly, she heard a knock outside of the door as it was the captain of the guards with him two of the guards,"Your highness we are most glad your feeling better", he looked concerned,"Will you be alright?", he said,"Just fine...", she smiled,"I know that you are very trusted to keep me safe but this knight will be my new personal defender", she informed the men,"When he is resting I ask that two of your best guards stay up so that he need not worry", she informed the man as he nodded,"As you wish my lady I have two of my best right now the councilor is in a fit", he crossed his arms,"I feel he over exaggerates your weaknesses and not praise your strengths you are the late kings daughter after all", she chuckled softly,"If only I felt like it", she whispered as they all left the room.

"Effohaul has always rubbed me the wrong way to", he said,"I feel like he controls her to much and she isn't one to put up a fight", he sighed,"I can't say that I can make her be more aggressive she must get her gentle nature from her father cause her mother was a hot head", he snickered,"The late queen would come through and if we didn't have armor that shined so bright and polished so well she could see her reflection in it she would reprimand us so harshly it was like getting scolded by your mother", he shuddered slightly,"Though she was a very brazen and outspoken queen she knew when her political matters were left to her husband and I suppose thats why the princess has no interest in being involved in politics", he shrugged,"I've been trying to catch dirt on that o'l dustbag for years but he is slimy", he crossed his arms,"If you find something do tell me if we have enough evidence we can get rid of him", he concluded.

The captain of the guard nodded toward him,"As so", he said before leaving... the day passed into night and that night the princess woke only to feel rather lonely upon waking, she found that being the only thing that was important to keep this place afloat was hard enough but she didn't like doing it alone,"Daddy..", she whispered to the silent room,"what do I do?", she fell back to sleep only to have herself relieve a vivid dream of her mother and brother passing away... her little brother was so sweet yet sometimes he could be awful she remembered seeing the look of anguish on her father's face at losing all of his family except her... she sometimes wished she had died that way to.. but her father always reminded her,"Dont' give up' after several years of mourning he went out hunting one day only to befall an accident her the only remaining heir and her councilors having to fight off through political means for so long...
She woke that next morning feel much better and was up and about when the maid brought breakfast,"Ah good morning my lady", she said,"Feeling better?",she asked,"Of course", smiled Ambrelle as she ate her breakfast while everything was set out for her then she rose out of bed and was helped into a gown and her hair combed and her ciricuit placed on her head,"Has my knight slept?", she asked,'You mean Zero? Oh yes I think so", she said,"Zero.. that is his name? So strange..", she contemplated her dark knights name as she was being pampered so to speak upon getting up and peaking out of the room she looked down the hall in hopes of seeing him.
