Seraphina would roll her eyes at the direction this conversation was taking. The guy was clearly crazy and Acorn wasn't helping the situation. What was more, he obviously wanted to rob the graves around here. Now, granted, the dead didn't really need their things anymore, but it just wasn't honorable to rob them, at least not like this. She might have lived like an animal in the forest for a while, but she still had respect for the dead. Plus she didn't need this guy mucking things up while they did their own investigation.

Seraphina would leave Acorn with her new found friend and walk over to the armed bald guy leading the funeral procession. The way the rest of her teammates were talking to him meant he must be all right. She would motion to the Satyr and speak. "Hey, that guy over there is a little loony from being out in the cold too long, but he seems pretty hell bent on digging up your graves here in a hunt for 'treasure.' Now, I don't know if you're the guy to talk to about this, but what with you leading this funeral procession and all, I figured you might like to know."

Infiltration into a house to extract a particular item? He could do that. Of course it could just be the guard baiting him into it. There were other options, of course. Lockpicking, looking for a lost key, going to the guard to get one. Hmm...

"Well, thank you for your time, sir." Morinth would turn and move away from the guard, motioning for Duren to come aside with him to discuss options. Once further away from the guard, he'd speak in hushed tones. "What do you think? Do we go for the key or do we find a different way in?" With the second words, he'd flick a lockpick into his hands briefly, before it disappeared again.

Duren was a little surprised at the options given by the guard, having foolishly expected that someone working in service to the city, to the protection of others would be more upstanding. He should have known better though...it was not as if the man were a soldier, just a common guard. His eyes followed the hooded, tailed member of their party as she came over, but let the kobold lead him away for a moment. "Hmm, I would feel more comfortable if we just acquired the key from the guard through the proper channels...but time is off the essence here." He paused, attempting to reconcile the matter within his own mind. "Very well...if you can get us in without damaging the door or the locks, then that is acceptable."

The officer would turn his attention to Seraphina, "Thank you, Miss. I will see that he is taken care of." He would then walk over to the group and share a few hushed words with a priest, before proceeding over to Puck and Acorn.

"I would love to have some drinks with you! I am not from this town, so can you suggest a tavern? I will pay!" Puck's smile would wided, though short lived as the officer walked up behind him and grabbed the fey's free arm, twisting it behind his back. "Damn son, you're as cold as ice. Lets take you to some place warmer and get some food in your gut..."

(Unless if someone interferes *looks at Acorn* Gant will take Puck away. Leaving the four of you and the funeral people. I will update tomorrow, ether way.

again, sorry for the delay.)

Acorn would frown when seeing how the officer would mishandle Puck. "Hey hey hey hey hey," Acorn would start, placing a hand on the officer's forearm, albeit gently. "There's no need for that. I was about to see to that myself, without the maynhandling.

Quote:
24 Diplomacy to convince the officer to let a much gentler Acorn take responsibility for relocating Puck.

"Don't worry, we won't be causing and trouble. Probably. You heard him, he's interested in seeing a tavern. He's an out-of-towner, I'd hate to ruin his first Bridgepuddle esperience..." She would flash the man her most friendly, most trustworthy smile and hope she'd win him over.

If it works... (I'll edit out the Spoiler tags if the Diplomacy check was successful)

"Can you do me a favor? Tell my friends, and the kobold, that I'll be back soon. Could be an hour, could be a couple minutes. Wink wink. I'd appreciate it!" she would implore the officer, hoping he'd convey the message.

After which, so she wouldn't hold up the mission any longer than she had to, Acorn would begin her efforts to spirit Puck away into town.

With a light shove, the officer would release Puck. "Fine, you are responsible for his well being, and his behavior.", he would say before walking back to Seraphina, Duren, and the Kobold to pass her message.

"The shifter said, she will see to the satyr, herself, and she would be back later."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ouch" Puck would mutter rotating his shoulder again. "Thank you, Rose."

Seraphina would wait until the guard was back out of earshot before facing her comrades and rolling her eyes. "Well, if the dog girl would rather get shitfaced with a crazy grave robber than do the job Tom's paying us for, that's her prerogative. Let the rest of us continue our mission. We need to go through the entrance over there, right? I take it we don't have a key..."

Seraphina would look down at Morinth. "Do you think you can work your magic on the lock, or do I need to break it open?"

"Of course, Blessed One. I can remove this obstacle." He lowered his head in a bow slightly, before turning to look at the guard and other people. "Just... give me a moment. They seem significantly distracted."

Smiling proudly at Puck, Acorn would respond, "Not a problum!" Nodding her head towards town, she'd add, "About those drinks..."

She would proceed to lead Puck towards the nearest tavern that regards her in a non-hostile manner.

(Do you want me to roll for anything regarding that?)

What would have taken much longer with someone else, Morinth would apply ancient secrets passed down by the kobold gods to the lucky... the rusted lock pops open.

Duren glanced over his shoulder as he heard the click of the lock, back in the direction of town. "Hrm...it would be better if the fuzzy one hadn't left, but so long as we mark our trail for her, there should be no problem with her catching up," he said. The dwarf unholstered his hammer and tapped it lightly against his shield. "You two stay behind me. I'll take point." It was clear that he was ready to head down into the crypt, the dwarf was only waiting for the door to open and then he would advance into the darkness, pausing for only the slightest moment for his eyes to adjust.

With no sign of his picks, he just steps away to let the dwarf through as he pushes the crypt entrance open. "Yes, yes. I shall allow you to brave any dangers further in first."

The iron gate would creak a little, but no one seemed to pay much attention to the sound, as it opened.

The stairs proceeded their downward decent until it would take a sharp turn into a small room with a blood soaked table in the center and a collection of jars of various colored liquids lining shelves along the wall. A few of said jars held rings, necklaces, and other jewelries. The room was kept lit by four oil sconces around the room

(flower pot things are the sconces, placed about 6 foot from the floor. The shelves are on either side of the room reach the 10 foot ceiling, though only the bottem half of the shelves are used.

IMPORTANT: pick a color and the way you enter, as of now Duren(?) is in the lead, D3ish(?))

Sounds of people farther echoed from an opening in the wall on the far side of the room, but their voices where to disoriented to make out a clear work(without a perception check).

--------------------------------------------------------------

The trip to Ray's was uneventful, aside from the bridge of bards, once inside the building. "Come in, come in. we just put a log on the fire." Called a young human lad(About 15 years of age) from behind the bar. "Father is out at the moment, but how can I help you? Oh, and Father's chili and Highland Ale are the specials for the day."

Inside, the building had a large fireplace, big enough to walk into(though metal gates prevented that sort of craziness), and a grill behind the counter, manned by a focused young lass(about 18 years in age). A large pot sat on the grill bubbling away, filled the air with heavenly aromas.

Duren would pause for a moment at the bottom of the stairs, thinking he heard something from further in, and he would listen more closely (Perception: 2. Fumble). However, as luck would have it, a tune they'd heard while passing through town popped into his head at that moment and he began humming along without thinking. He advanced into the room along the bookshelf (D3 to D7), and then skirted along the wall towards the other doorway (D7 to F7)seeming to fade out a bit as he moved (Gaining concealment from Shadow Walk). The others may merely think it was a trick of the light, but he would not call any attention to it as well. Curiously though, Duren's hammer and shield seemed to disappear entirely and he pulled a pair of poles out of his bag, screwing them together into a staff.

Recap:
Color: Green
Loc: F7
Status: Partial Concealment

Seraphina was glad to finally be getting down to business and with the sound of voices already upon entering the catacombs meant something already was up. Seraphina would stealthily (12 Stealth Check) skirt along the wall pass Duren until she came just to the edge of the opening in the wall. the she would pause to see if she could make out any of the words from the conversation. (18 Perception Check)
