_ _ Solsi grimaced at her failure. She turned and helped the others as they appeared through the floor hatch, assisting them to their feet."The car got away...I tried to apprehend it...but I was too late."she informed them sullenly."It was pretty big, had no license plate but went off in that direction."She pointed down the street it followed. She wished she had more information, but it all happened so quickly.

( The twist is it's all an April Fools prank. )
The surgeon and mage made it up onto the surface, however, it was too late. The vehicle was long gone by the time they could regroup with Solsi. "Oh Gaia... That's not good," she said, turning towards the direction. "Who knows if it turned into other streets..." She had no idea where to go from this. At least the young woman knew what the kidnapper's car looked like.
With Solsi's help, the surgeon emerged from the tunnel. But the mechanic had escaped their grasp and the trail was turning cold. Sciurus turned a slow circle on the spot, taking in everything around them. "I don't recognize this part of town. What do we know of the immediate area? Highways, industrial areas, anything abandoned? Best case scenario is that our kidnappers must settle and regroup somewhere." Without touching, he knelt and examined the blood stains. If Arron was still bleeding, there was a chance he was still alive. Sciurus looked between his companions. "You are magical. Have you any fanciful methods of finding things?"

_ _ Solsi was trying in vain to memorize the car's every detail, but it all happened so fast. One second it was there, and the next, gone. After a while she had to wonder if it really appeared the way it did in her mind or if her thoughts were filling in the blanks of what was forgotten. Meanwhile the doctor was studying the blood stains. When he addressed her and Kate, Solsi blinked, waking from her thoughts."I'm not sure, I'm still fairly new with my powers, but I'm willing to give it a try."

The Sweet Freak
Sitting on a park bench in the cool evening air was a rather familiar lady. The Freak had been so glad to have finally seen the sun again. Brighter times are coming..., she thought to herself, as she leaned back and watched the sky turn from blue to black, in various shades. She closed her eyes for a moment merely, thinking up lovely words to describe how she felt. Music was heard from a window, and she listened, hoping that her friend was not working all too hard on such a fine night as this. Days like these are too precious... I should ask him to come outside with me for a bit.
Opening her eyes again, she gazed upon the sky, where the first stars had come out to look back at her. She took a moment to write about it, for she simply must. It would ache her so not to.
"Alone, I watch the sky And it is watching me As I set out to try To set my dear friend free
The night has called us out The stars are waiting yet And I can feel no doubt That soo-"
Right in that moment, her pen stopped. Something was wrong. She felt it, deep in her bones. The lady stood right up and dropped both pen and notes, as the inferno suddenly took place before her very eyes. Arron... Within the blink of an eye, the beutiful even had been torn apart into ashes and rubble, and the stars failed to see beyond the smoke. It was gone. It was all there before, but now it was gone. How? And why?
The Freak managed no motion. No words. She simply stood there, horrified of what she had witnessed. She closed her eyes and opened them once more. Over and over. Praying each time she opened them that perhaps, just maybe, this time she would finally wake up. A single thought went through her mind. Her voice repeat it, alike a distant echo... "If only I'd written faster... If only I'd knocked on that door... If only I'd asked him sooner... Then all would be as before..."
The fire had been cleared, though smoke still poured into the air, paramedics and officers had already searched the area, and the race to find the missing mechanic was on...yet someone was still standing as if in shock at what they had witnessed.
"Ma'am? Are you okay?" a small voice asked by the masked woman's side, hand tugging on the woman's sleeve in order to get her attention. "Did you know someone in there?"

Whispering Minstrel
The masked lady had indeed been standing in that very same spot all along. Frozen in that moment of time, alike a faceless statue. But she did have a face, hidden as though it were, it was horrified. How could this be? How could these horrors even occur on such a lovely night?
She had not noticed the ambulance, the fire engines, the police cars or any of the sirens or flashing lights. Lost within a thought of her own mind, she saw only ony thing - the emptiness.
The empty void which remained in the place where something had been. The vacancy left where those familiar walls once stood. What she saw now, was merely the nothingness left of the something she recalled. All familiarity had vanished, alike beloved dreams suddenly twisting into nightmares. But try as she might, she failed to waken from this one.
But suddenly, something broke her endless stare. Or more of a someone than a thing. The Freak looked beside her, confused. "Did I know..." It took her a moment to process this question. Something about it felt off... And once she knew just what it was, her wavering voice steadied itself, as she placed a hand on the girl's shoulder and said as merrily as one ever could. "No, my dear. I do know someone who was there. And perhaps it is time I go find them, don't you think~?"
How she knew that the mechanic had yet to be found was beyond even herself. Perhaps she knew it in her heart? Or perhaps she had subconciously heard people stating so before? Either way, she was certain. Her friend was not there, and he was still to be known.

The Sweet Freak
She seemed a little startled at the suddenness of the hand on her shoulder, but smiled shyly up at the lady as she heard the tremble in her voice leave.
"U-um...some others..." she mumbled, making a tiny movement with her finger to point to where three figures had seemingly vanished into the wall.

She frowned as she and Solsi were asked if they could trace things. In her mind, Kate didn't know of such a spell yet. It existed, just not in her power. It was all up to the young woman unless there was one hidden somewhere in her spell book. "If you think you can try, I say go for it. Wouldn't hurt, right?"
_ _ Solsi smiled awkwardly and held onto her hat."Well I certainly hope not...eheheh."she teased in regard to it hurting. She honestly didn't know what would happen, but she believed deep down in her heart it would be okay. It simply had to. Coughing lightly she gave a quick nod of the head, composing herself."I promise I'll do my best."It had been only a few days since the incident. She figured it was likely just a vivid dream but...she had to give it a shot, even if she was acting on nothing more than a hunch. Closing her eyes softly Solsi tuned out everything around her, hands clasped lightly in a prayer position in front of her heart.Night sky...ascended masters...please help...help us find Arron. I wish we could save him...No sooner did she think that did her eyes flutter open, alerted to a brisk shift in the air. She looked all about her, wondering what was different, when a glimmering speck of light came down out of the sky. She watched it fall as if in a daze, wondering what was going on. Its path arched as it descended, flying a curved path and heading right for them. Solsi threw her arms up protectively but it slowed as it neared, arriving in a shimmering orb of light that poofed away and delivered from its center an object on the ground in front of them. Slowly, the magical girl lowered her arms, and stared at the mysterious trinket lying on the pavement. She reached down and picked it up."It's a...compass."She sounded surprised. The casing was a bright, polished gold. She blinked and turned it over in her palm. The back was engraved in a mystical swirling font, she could barely make out what it said."...Cir-cinus"she pronounced. She blinked again, eyes widening in realization."We can use this to find which way the car went!"
OOC: Since the new story's been released, this could be a good time to debut Solsi's new ability. Arron, if this isn't okay, just tell me and I will gladly edit.

( I don't remember how that part went...have you seen Howl's Moving Castle? It would work similar to the glowing ring that led Sophi home. Solsi asks which way the car went and it would shine a streak of light they have to follow. )

The compass would shine down the street ahead of them. Signifying that the vehicle was ahead of them. However a minute later, the light would move to the right slightly.
A person hurried passed the group, brushing Solsi's hand as they did. She would feel the compass start to lift off her hand.

_ _ Solsi stared, mystified that her wish had been granted. She looked up at the sky, mouth slightly ajar, silently expressing her thanks. When next she admired the relic in her hands, the needle began to fidget on its face. She studied its sporadic activity when all at once it settled and began emitting a thin line of light directly ahead of them."The car's headed in that direction!"she exclaimed, gesturing for the group to hurry and follow its guidance. Just as her spare hand released the compass however, a figure swept by and brushed against her hand, effectively emptying it. Solsi blinked, eyes darting first at her palm, then at the stranger."OH BAKA!"she exclaimed irritably."That's it..."She revved up, summoning her wand into her hand before flinging it at the back of the thief's head.
OOC: I'll be so happy if she actually konks the guy. XD
