Leviathan Anon

That makes sense. Xashowd thought. Leviathan had an interesting story, the parts about once being a Deity of the Seas intriguing him the most. Still, he noticed Leviathan's apparent boredom. Seems the interview wasn't interesting enough. He remembered the Token he kept hidden under his coat...one last question, just to be sure of something.

"There's a War brewing on this world...a war that has been anticipated for a few years. Nyx and Gaia, Deities of this world, are poised to battle in a clash the likes of which the world hasn't seen in some time. If you were to deign to aid a side, which would it be? I doubt the stirrings have escaped your notice." Xashowd inquired, phrasing his question carefully.

She looked to him, “The ways of war in this place do not concern me. “ she leaned slightly, relaxing her pose, “whomever claims lay of the land is no scale of skin to me.” She said. “Besides,” she flicked a finger skyward, “I only meddle in the affairs of one. Their qualm is not my own, and I wouldn’t benefit from picking a side. “

Alrighty...she's not siding with Nyx, but at least she's not against him. Xashowd thought with relief. As much as he had wanted to fight her earlier, he didn't fancy having to face Leviathan if she were to side with Gaia for some reason. "Alright then. Well, thank you for the interview. Those are all the questions I have." That I think you'll answer. He thought, still curious about those plans of hers. "Do you have any questions for me, or will you take your leave?" He inquired.

She lulled her head to the side, bored. “I have no questions. Simply a statement.” And she leaned in close to his face, “Stay away from what is mine, or I’ll take this little play pen of yours and crush it~” she grinned, “Bye bye now!” and with that, she vanished.

With Leviathan gone, Xashowd sighed. Clearly the demigod didn't like him, and her warning only reinforced his need to keep away from Daenes as much as possible. But what else was Leviathan's? It'd be handy to know so he could make a Do Not Touch list. He shrugged, just glad it was over. He left his Closet, locking it on the way out. He decided he'd go for a flight, something to calm his nerves. Knowing his luck, he and Leviathan may very well cross paths again...Xashowd just hoped it wouldn't be for a long time.

There was nothing, and then there was Velvet. Chuckling at the vampire and his "interview" with Levi.

"The problem with you young ones is you never listen. Congratulations for comeing out of that with your soul, and skin, intact."

This place is starting to feel more like home.

As he continued arranging his closet, making room for a Magitech Computer, Xashow smiled at the realization he'd come to. Leviathan would no longer trouble him, so long as he didn't bother Daenes, and he had friends in Volt and Monster, whom he had seen recently. The scars upon the closet wall were cleared, a memento Xashowd had no intention of keeping, and he had found some Crystals that would give him some peace of mind. Leviathan was strong, but he'd gone out of his way to procure a few Void Crystals. They had not come cheap, but the immense energy within them mixed with a bit of his own energy would ensure that no one but Xashowd would be able to warp in and out at will. He smiled a little though, as he'd gone off world to bash quite a few Heartless on other realms. It kept him in fighting shape, and the extra currency had been worth it. If anyone wanted in from this point forward, it was the door or not at all.

Said door was summarily opened with a loud bang, and as Xashowd turned to face whoever was there, his jaw dropped.

"So you were hiding out here! I have got to stop assuming things."

This woman...she looked like Laguna, but taller...and bustier? Xashowd rapidly shook his head, not wanting to ride down that train of thought. Physical changes aside, based on her unique hair color (Well, unique anywhere but Gaia) and skin tone, not to mention her voice...it was Laguna.

"Long time no see Xashowd. I need to ask you a favor..." Laguna walked towards him calmly, while Xashowd was unsure whether he should get out his Scythe or his Gizmo. "What kind of favor...?" He asked cautiously. Laguna stopped, noticing his tone. "Xashowd, you know it's me, right? I'm not going to hurt you." "I've heard otherwise...I'm not so sure I can trust you." He replied, the tension building within him. Laguna sighed. "Look...you're an understanding guy, right? At least give me a chance to explain..." She then narrowed her eyes warily. "...You haven't seen Darxian recently, have you?"

Xashowd swallowed, preparing himself for an outburst. He didn't like what he heard in her tone..."I have. A few weeks ago...he told me everything. You know killing innocents is wrong!" "Innocents!?" Laguna retorted incredulously. "They're not Innocent! They're all bound by Want, but are too afraid to admit it! Hypocrites, the whole lot of them! And who are you to judge? You drink their blood to survive! What I do is no different!" She explained, pointing at him and waving her arms for emphasis. Xashowd growled, but stayed where he was. He might have to drink blood, but he never killed anyone to do it! Darxian said she killed for the fun of it, that was something completely different!

Still...Laguna said she meant him no harm. He wasn't willing to completely trust her, but for old time's sake he decided to give her a chance. He relaxed his stance somewhat. "It's very different. I don't kill if I can avoid it. You have one chance to explain yourself, Laguna. Better make it good." He stated with a serious expression. There was a reason for everything...He'd hear her side before deciding whether or not to report to Darxian. He just hoped his old friend had been wrong...

Laguna frowned. ****...So Darxian got to him. Now how am I supposed to explain things to him? Xashowd was giving her a chance, one she had no intention of squandering, but Laguna knew Darxian had more contact with Xashowd, and so had more of the vampire's trust. His word against hers, and words were often subjective. Hell, I'm just gonna tell it like it is.

"Well, if my former mentor has visited, then you already know what has happened to me...But you don't know the why. So let me break it down for you." She stated, floating upwards to sit on a cushion of water molecules. "Everyone is born with Want in their hearts. Want to survive, Want to breathe, Want to eat, etcetera. Everyone has different wants, be they good or bad, and more often than not those Wants never extend beyond the individual. Those Wants often turn into Greed, which you and I both know is the reason behind the downfall of many sentient civilizations, including numerous human ones. The larger the population, the more diverse the wants, and thus the less likely those wants will ever coincide for a single, united purpose." Laguna's tone grew more irritated as she explained. "Oh sure, when some 'Great Cataclysmic Threat' shows up, people actually unite over it, but once that's done? A memorial here and there, numerous funerals, and a slow return to the 'Normal', which is how things were exactly before said crisis! All the Greed, all the single-minded Wants, ALL OF IT! People are rarely ever good out of the kindness of their own heart. Asking an entire race to **** money and actually work for peace regardless of cost is like pulling teeth! They. Won't. Do it. When you consider every last variable, the chances of an entire sentient race working towards peace when their lives aren't threatened is so far beyond astronomical, it's not even worth it."

She looked at Xashowd during her rant, noticing his expression was something between disbelief and resignation. As though part of him didn't want to believe her words, yet another part already knew she was right. She floated down towards him, putting her face next to his.

"Sentient beings kill each other every single damn day for little more than scraps, and not even for survival. They say I kill for fun? I kill because those hypocrites can't even admit their own most fatal flaw. I kill because even if the impact is insignificant, I rid the world of one more pest. So what if I enjoy it? So what if I get some satisfaction from it? There is no changing their minds without dropping a nuke on their heads. There is no removing Want without effectively killing them, and as long as Want exists there will NEVER be true peace between all. It's a fool's dream. The best one can hope for is to live their own life and have no regrets." Laguna floated away from Xashowd, letting her words sink in for a few moments before adding one last retort. "It's too late for me to have no regrets, so the most I can hope for is to live a life of freedom and happiness. If that happiness comes from bloodshed, so be it. Even if the world somehow kills me, there is no end to conflict, no end to suffering. There's no 'beating' them, might as well join them."

"Interesting excuses for your needless killing." Asterael's voice is quiet, pale eyes calmly watching the other two occupants in the room as she floats by the back wall. Her eyes flick back and forth between the two, almost seeming as if she's somehow peering into and judging their very hearts and souls. She sighs softly after a moment, mumbling to herself, "People from this realm are always so difficult to read..."

Xashowd, momentarily lost in his ruminations, turned towards the voice, startled that someone had gotten in past the Void Crystals. Laguna turned more slowly, sizing up the newcomer. Is this one of those Angels Lilith told me about? I'd rather not fight in my friend's home...But I don't need some nut on their high horse trying to tell me what to do. Laguna thought with a scowl. Xashowd was still processing Laguna's words, his mind divided. And now someone had gotten in...he looked over and saw his door was still open. He mentally cursed, figuring that's how they got in. "Dammit, Laguna..." He cursed under his breath.

Laguna looked upon the newcomer, glaring at her with suspicion. "Call it what you want, you can't deny what people do to one another out of Want. And who are you anyways?" She inquired with mild irritation.

Her head tilts slightly as she follows the vampires gaze, a sheepish look on her face when she see's the door. "Coming through the door would have been more polite than the wall... My apologies." Her eyes flick back to the woman, still calm despite the glare, "My name is Asterael, and while many actions are dictated by want, there is also need as well. A need to eat, for example, so the individual doesn't die." She floats slowly to the ground as she speaks, her wings folding tightly against her back. She immediately frowns and floats at Laguna's again, standing would mean she'd have to constantly look up at them which would lead to a sore neck if she was here a while. "You seem to have a want for blood and death which I can't permit you to act on while you are here. Things are imbalanced here as it is."

"Things are imbalanced everywhere. Conflict and Suffering is the nature of Life. Had you not noticed, or are you simply oblivious?" Laguna retorted with a sneer. Friend's place or not, if this chick made a move on her, Laguna intended to manipulate her blood and start slamming her against the walls. I do not need the aggravation of a full blown fight right now, I only recently calmed myself. She thought, preparing herself for any kind of retaliation by the winged entity.

Xashowd watched as Asterael and Laguna talked back and forth. He wanted to intervene, but his own personal war was still raging. She's right! You've seen it, everywhere you go. Take out one evil, two more take its place! The world clearly does not wish an end to it, or it would already be peaceful! His anger and pessimism cried.

But there's so much light in the world...the open skies, the fresh air, Watermelon...how can we just let a world filled with such wondrous things fall to ruin? How can we dismiss it as beyond salvation? His happiness and optimism replied.

Then why did we side with Nyx, huh? What do you think he's going to do, spread bright little butterflies everywhere? He's going to claim what was stolen from him, and I'm pretty sure that doesn't involve pacifism!

But it doesn't have to involve bloodshed, does it? We can help create a world where all can be free...we can help create peace. Isn't that what we've been trying to do?

There is no peace as long as there's Want, as long as there's Greed! But take those away and you take away a part of free will! You can't have peace without removing one's freedoms, and you can't have freedom without having to fight for it! Every world we've been to, that's how it works. There is no changing that, there can never be peace!

ENOUGH! Xashowd shouted in his mind. So what if we can't bring true peace to the world? We can try to have peace here, we can try to have a home. That's what we've...what I've been searching for. I just...I just want a place to call home. And I'll protect it, no matter what! He stood up with newfound resolve. Xashowd would protect his home. He would find his happiness...and he wouldn't sacrifice his friends to do so.

"Imbalance that you are helping to create instead of restoring balance. This realm will meet it's end far too soon, keep this up and you'll perish with it." There is sorrow in her eyes as she watches Laguna, "I have no desire to fight you, but if it comes to that I'm sorry to inform you that you shall be the one to perish." Her wings stretch and flutter a bit before folding firmly against her back, their movements not disturbing her floating, "The advantage is too far in my favor." If Laguna attacks, she would be hard pressed to find any liquid in the small woman to manipulate. Anyone sensitive to it, however, should be able to feel pure energy seeming to flow through her, seeming too much for such a small body to contain.

Laguna spread her own Succubus wings, colored in various shades of blue. She wasn't going to let this elitist intimidate her. Her own dark energies surged within her, the water molecules in the air around the two shaking from the tension. "Like hell. Look Ms. Holier-than-thou, I don't back down from idiots who think they can lord over me. And right now, you're looking like a fool. So either butt out and take your sentiments with you, or you're going to learn just how wrong you are..." Her voice took a more demonic tone near the end of her threat, which she fully intended to carry out, before a voice rang through the air between them.

"That's quite enough." Xashowd stated sternly. "If you want me to do you any favors Laguna, you'll have to keep your claws sheathed. Now back off."

Laguna whipped her head around, looking at Xashowd incredulously. He was siding with this angel? "What? Haven't you been listening? This nutcase won't accept the truth. She thinks that Balance means a damn thing to existence! Clearly it doesn't, or things would already be balanced! After so many eons, you'd think that-" "I don't care about that!" Xashowd shouted, interrupting her. "If the world is corrupted, then fine. It doesn't mean I have to let it affect my life. And I would very much appreciate if you didn't start a fight in my home." He said, putting heavy emphasis on the last three words.

Laguna scowled. Part of her wanted to turn all the water molecules in the air to razor-thin blades and shred the hell out of the winged being. But Xashowd reminded her that she had wanted to ask him something...Reluctantly, she calmed herself down and took a few steps away from the being who disgusted her. "Fine. Consider yourself lucky." Laguna stated. It didn't matter to her how the battle would've turned out, she wouldn't die without inflicting grievous harm upon those she fought. But Xashowd was a friend...she respected him.

Xashowd walked over to them. "I hope that we can discuss things more rationally now. So, if I may ask why you have come here, miss Asterael?" He inquired.

Asterael frowns, looking perplexed, "I do not understand how I have lorded over you by stating simple facts..." Her eyes twitch back to Xashowd now that the woman was finished ranting for now, head tilting slightly. "Trying to restore some semblance of balance is the short answer to that question." She shifts in the air so she can float cross legged, "The long answer is that there has been a sudden unbalance between life and death in this realm and I have yet to see this realms Death or Life. I'm here to attempt to balance it out and find out why the Death and Life are slacking in their jobs. Gaia is a naturally chaotic place, but not normally to the degree it is currently heading towards. If your friend is here to cause even more unbalance then I must ask her to leave, or dispose of her myself as is my job."
