Maybe every night there's a group of enemies out of all of them that can only be taken down by the game/anime that one (or more if we have three people join with FF characters) person? They're nothing special, just mooks that can hurt anyone but can only be injured by the specific series. Of course, they would also be from the series. The vast majority, though, can hit and be hit by all.

Have a slight twist (using Oichi for the example): Mooks (the nobodies) from Sengoku BASARA are a small amount of the swarm trying to destroy the Academy. They can hurt anyone, but if say, Harumi tries to fight back, it's a miss, even if it looks like a direct hit. Oichi attacks, she hits, since she's from the same series. So at night, you announce the group the special mooks are from, and where they come from. Small group, say twenty of them, but a pain when they don't get hit. Damage might be done, but there's something about the magic that seeped into the Academy that lets it regenerate all but the large damages done to everything. So scratches on a wall will be fixed, but a fallen tree won't be. Maybe, if the idea works out, make the special mooks elite, so that they're harder to kill, and can do more damage, damage that might take the Academy a while to recover from, possibly needing outside help. (Say, a mook finds something in the science lab and mixes it with something else and it explodes). Also have nights where there are no fights, but the next night is harder, to make up for it. Just an idea rolling through my head.

Well, seeing as I role-played for about 6 years, I could say loads, but I'll keep it brief. Role-plays need mixed characters, there is no "do's" and "don'ts" characters, as the same type of personality would be rather boring. Just like an author would do in a book, a role-play character expresses the views of the author - the person who is role-playing as the character - or expresses the views of someone else - if you want to go for a change - and very rarely, that is the same type of personality.
But seeing as there is hardly any weird or grumpy characters in role-plays, I personally admire them for the uniqueness. Romantic, kind characters seem to be more common. Slightly snobby characters, quiet characters, you name it - its more common for an author wanting to express their views in such way compared to a weird character or someone who is completely violent and grumpy. I should find Tsuruhime's cutscenes, she and Oichi have a cutscene together that's really sad, but very...sweet. I should find Oichi's cutscenes for 2 Heroes and 3/Samurai Heroes...

@Toki-chan: Both Haurmi and Suki are so adorable...! ; w; <333 I think it would be super funny if Naoya and Suki spoke to one another... xD Once he wraps his mind around the fact that an 'animal' can talk... which shouldn't take him too long since he adjusts pretty easily... I think... LOL. But him and Harumi seem like they would be the awesomest and cutest friends, ater they get their shyness out of the way! x3 @Yuki-chan: Haha, aww! Naoya will probably be uncomfortable at first (especially since he isn't used to being hit on by anyone, let alone a guy) and maybe be a bit distant around Grell at first... but I think he'll warm up eventually! 8D Only if Grell can handle how quiet he is in the beginning...
