@Food!
Kojiro would be off getting food for Miyako and himself. Rice and fish and whatever veggies they happened to have on hand! Vaguely, he wondered if Denbe kept some of that cumin aside from the gift he got Kagae's mother.
Still.....FOOD! Unless somehow the food is against him too....

Sozui would give a soft chuckle. "Mysterious occurrences in the Twilight Mountains, you say? I've not even been here a year, and yet I know that's like claiming the Matsu are sometimes angry, or the Crane are sometimes stuck up. Sounds like a fool's errand to me. Though it makes more sense that you're more of an underling partaking this endeavor, I suppose." With a polite smile, he would nod his head. "No offense intended, of course."
Looking eastward, he would give a brief smile. "For now. My wife's already pregnant with our first. Since I'm new to this 'wall defense' thing, her father pulled some strings so I could be eased into it. This way, I could more likely see my son or daughter's face before the Shadowlands has a good chance to kill me." With an almost nervous laugh, he would add, "Kind of a macabre reason, but if it makes my wife happy, I'll do whatever is asked of me."
A few of the Crab on duty would look over through the rain, then back westward through the mountainous terrain.

Daisetsu would continuously look over Miyako's shoulder, down towards the hallway Kojiro went towards. However, she would currently be blocking him, and he made no attempt to force his way by her. "Keeps frend Meeyako safe... Noble indeed." he would parrot, agreeing with her. "Can Daisetsuu meet frend Bayuushii-san?" he would ask, nervously but eagerly.

Since Denbe doesn't have Defense 3, his Full Defense cannot be declared until his first turn in combat.
Which doesn't stop the angry Hida from leaping up onto a table, then across to where Denbe is, kicking at him with a swift roundhouse!
"ORYA!"
Two raises to damage. 50 to hit TN 19, 16 damage
He lands a lucky hit as Denbe is surprised at his speed, almost sure he had the upper hand in initiative. The kick would catch Denbe right in the torso with surprising strength, sending him reeling!

Kojiro, you're not entirely sure where the food is stored nor prepared. It's a castle, and fairly sizable! You're sure there's a mess hall, but you're not sure where it is.

Miyako's grin only further widened. "Of course. Could you find him for me and make sure he gets some good food. He doesn't know the area at all. I would appreciate it so much. Then I'll be glad to introduce you." More than a little, she thought to herself. Opening her door, she moved in so he could move past. "I'll be right here as long as I don't fall asleep waiting."

"The crane only SOMETIMES stuck up guys!" Said Kagae loudly to see if that got a snicker down the line.
"Well yes but there is a reason though I believe the other half of our mission is on a need to know basis. Must be a nice wife to go through all this for..." Said Kagae looking down a bit ashamed he wasn't married yet.
"Have you any jade?" Asked Kagae still twirling his finger of jade.

As Kojiro was unfamiliar with this castle, he was fairly certain he was lost right now. Something about this castle was dampening his mood and he became more and more irritable with each step he took inside it. The sooner they were out of this place the better.

Denbe remembered how fearsome Hogai-san had been, and readied himself to weather out the storm for an opport-

The Hare thrusts himself backwards, raising his hands to guard, scrambling his wits for the emergency maneuver. His hands didn't get up in time, but the thrust backward took a lot of the edge off the Crab's kick. But not enough. The Hare was left stumbling and reeling, nearly stumbling into the seating around a table, catching himself on it and ducking to a side.
"Only the magistrate was a fiercer opponent than Hida Hogai-" Denbe said, rounding the Crab as he recovered to give him less chance to have a guard ready when he turned to see the Hare jumping into the air and snapping a sharp kick his way, hoping to catch the soloplex- or head if he was lucky and either the Crab was ducked enough or he jumped high enough- with the ball of his foot.
Landing squarely on his feet, he recovered from that with much more ease than the Crab had from his assault.
"But I am no liar."

The large Hida would smile and nod his head. "Thank yuu, frend Meeyako!" he would say as she ducked into a room. Presumably, one of the "guest quarters" that the Jade Wardens got set aside for them upon their arrival. I am okay assuming this.
Daisetsu would stomp off down the hallway...

... and as Kojiro was trying to puzzle which turn he should take, Daisetsu would storm up the way he had come from like a rampaging elephant. "Frend Bayuushii-san! Frend Bayuushii-san!" the rotund one would yell out, waving his hand about frantically. His pace was slowing as fatigue was getting the better of him.
Kojiro, you're in the company of a Hida who has grossly misinterpreted the Large advantage.
@ Engineering Roll: Though you've never been in this castle, the Kaiu undoubtedly had similar structural plans here as they did in Yasuki Yashiki. You are fairly certain you know where to go now that you've stopped and gotten your bearings.

As Kagae would make his comment, a few snickers would sound across the line. Although...
"HEY!" a man sporting full armor matching Daidoji colors would call out from the courtyard below. He ran up to the base of the wall, calling upwards towards the battlements. "WHICH ONE OF YOU SAID THAT?!"
The man seemed to be looking around to see which ladder would be the best choice to climb up to reach where Kagae was.
"Looks like jade is the least of your worries now, friend," Sozui would say, peeking downward. "You might want to skedaddle. Here he comes."

Denbe would leap up and land a fierce jump kick that would cripple a lesser man. As he cocked his leg, he would land the blow against the man's chin! Surely, that must...

His head whipping back, he suddenly swung it forward again, a trail of blood flowing from his lips. "Then we'll see, once I have you lying on the ground!" he would retort.
Continuing his fierce advance, he would press the advantage, attempting to pummel Denbe with several crushing blows to the ribs!
"HRAAA!"
Full Attack, 2 free raises towards damage. 38 vs TN 19+5, hit. 17 more damage.
The blows were devestating, and if Denbe didn't put up some sort of a defense, he would be Crippled by the attack!

"Stay alive." Said Kagae to Sozui bowing quickly then peering down at the daidoji.
"Nyeeeeeeeehhhhh" Cried Kagae as he ran to the lower levels, arms flailing behind him, to the forge where the daidoji probably isn't allowed... Hopefully.

"Ah...hello, Hida-san. Did Shosuro-san send you after me?" Kojiro commented as he started along the route that he presumed would take him to the Mess Hall. "What can I do for you?"
The Scorpion samurai mentally wished that they had left this place already.

Kami, this must have been what Hogai was like when he had both his arms, Denbe thought. He'd chosen to be cautious because he remembered how sturdy Hogai was, and knew that half the reason he won two of those fights was because Hogai hadn't managed to hit him. Now, he didn't have that luxury in the least.
Caution might have been a mistake. I should have thrown it all at that opening.
And now, as he saw it, he didn't have a choice. He was even less confident of victory than he'd been against Hogai, the man who had intimidated him most in that contest. One more hit like that, as Denbe saw it, and he'd be off his feet, though he trusted the Crabs to stop it before he was beat to death, if the Hida kept going. But that last blow was going to come- unless Denbe had luck enough to knock him down right now.
Soon as he'd fixed himself from doubling over under the hail of fists, the Hare stepped forward again- and jumped high into the air, spinning round and sweeping his heel in a devastating arc at the Crab.

Once the Hida had left, Shosuro settled into her room and took out the paper and pen and began writing out a letter to Kuni Raicho letting her know the events of the past few days in the most polite and least troubling manner possible.
