(ok I just wasn't sure on the wording)
Gersif was just about to say something when he saw Odessa run by, he looked to Thane with an apologetic look before going to Odessa's side. He sat beside her not saying a word a paw placed on her shoulders for reassurance and comfort he had caught the tail end of her burial of the ring. The burden must be weighing upon her too and though he said nothing he would need to bring it up before it was left there to rust. He gambled with his words, he didn't know if it was the right thing to say but he felt they both needed perspective. "What will we tell Oliver?" They agreed to do this for Oliver's sake not their own or for the dead, they had agreed for him and if they were going to back out of it they would have to think of him then too. Wither he knew it or not he was a part of this.

Odessa sighed, getting herself together she turned and wiped the tears away and tried to compose herself more before looking down at the ring and shook her head "we say nothing, I said I was his mother and I am sticking to it no matter what happens, I will just have mini break downs away from him and sooner or later this will get easier we just have to wait it out no matter how hard it is but I will NOT go back on my word to that poor pup no matter how much I want to and how much I am hating this!" She said as she dug up the ring, took off the dirt and put it back on, hating the fact it weighed so heavily around her neck but that couldn't be helped, she promised this pup she was his mother and was going to follow through with it.
Thane let the other leave and then packed up the stuff and listened from the shadows of his cave and walked out, placing the bundle on the ground in front of Gersif "maybe we should leave it there for today" he said as he smiled sombrely at Odessa "lets just let this sink in and then we will go on with the family stuff in a few days time or whatever" he suggested to the others.
Odessa nodded "yes, thank you, that would be good" she said as she started walking back, hoping Sayako wasn't upset with her.

Gersif nodded pleased she was going to stick to her decision. They had each other to rely on and Thane and Sayako for support, even if at the moment it was all one giant guilt trip, they just had to keep Oliver in mind. He gave her a soft nose to cheek nudge as a reassuring 'I'm here for you'. It was tough but they had to be strong and if they stuck together and leaned on each other for support they would get through it.
He hadn't even noticed Thanes presence until he spoke, but he agreed, it was a good idea to take a break, they had had a lot thrown on then in just a few hours, perhaps a nap would help things clear up and bring new perspective, he could cast his runes and seek guidance there as well, though he had a feeling the gods couldn't really have cared what he did one way or the other. Perhaps Freyja would assist him, she was the goddess of love, beauty, magic, war and death, the perfect god for the job, so long as she would notice him long enough to respond... you never knew which god would respond until they did, and even then it was anyone's guess. "Thank you Thane, you have been most kind, we shall resume this later then." He nodded reinforcing his agreement and followed Odessa back to Sayako and eventually he thought, to Oliver.
(You know typing this I could have sworn it was going to be a lot longer than it looks now.. lame lol)

((LOL I have done that before, write it out and it looks like a page but post it and its like half the size, Gaia likes messing with out heads. XD))
Odessa smiled a little at Gersif, thanking him for his support more then anything and was glad, for today at least, this part was over with and now she just felt like she had to take a verrry long break to soak it in, she wondered if there was a hot spring around here, yes it was wrong but still, she needed it after the load she has to now absorb but she had a kid to look after now so that was more important "I think that apple crumble will taste great right about now" she said, SO wanting to eat her slice and another slice after it.
Thane smiled at them "you are most welcome" he said as he joined them going back to Sayako.
((Have to go out, bad post is bad, sorry ^^; ))

Gersif smiled at Odessa, he knew a few females who liked to drown themselves in food when worries over took them, he could not hold it against her, he sorta thought it was cute, at least it was cute on her. He wondered if he could some how convince her human to make more for her, he had a feeling she was going to need it for a while. Maybe he could convince his to make her rhubarb muffins, those seemed to be pretty popular.
He would do a few castings when they got back to the cave he thought, set him in the right direction at least. That is after he played Charades to try and get her human to bake. He wasn't sure how well it would go but they would see. He never was the best at these things, he rarely asked his human for anything, he had been on his own for so long he never needed more than he had so attempting communication with humans was never something he needed to do. It was worth a shot though, for the sake of his family if nothing else.
He gently bumped his shoulder against Odessa's with a smile, he was flirting a bit, trying to keep her mind off of things that were weighing her down. His ring swinging on the chain with each step creating a small chiming sound as metal slid upon metal. He had almost forgotten it was there his mind having been so completely upon her. Perhaps that was the secret, to keep his mind on his family in the here and now and allow the past to be past.

Had this been a better time, Odessa would of picked up on the flirting but right now she just smiled at the other for a moment before going back to thinking about stuff, looking down at the ring and sighed, wondering if she could get her human to make some mint chocolate chip ice cream as well, she needed junk food and lots of it but that would have to wait till later because as soon as she got back she would have to go into that cave of hers and act as if she had known the male beside her for years, how on earth was she meant to do that when she had just met him? Not to mention all the stuff shes meant to have fallen in love with him for which was all a sham. Odessa sighed as she looked up from the ring, wondering how she was meant to carry this on and now how was she even meant to try and carry on her life or, if she dared, go out and find a guy in between taking care of Oliver and telling the guy she wishes to date that she now had a fake mate and a child on top of it, the child may not be so bad but telling the guy you are wanting to date you have a fake mate and are scamming said child into believing you are his mother may not go down so well. "Any chance I can go do stuff by myself when I get back?" She asked, hating she was saying this, but she had to go visit someone and she would rather do it by herself "I wont be long I just had to go see someone today and it was important and if I don't turn up they may worry" she said, deciding not to tell him it was her mother and father and her adoptive sister as he was probably going to tell her not to say anything about Oliver etc but if anything it is them who HAD to know about this, they gain a grandson/nephew and a lying, cheating daughter...yeah, if anyone had to know about this it was them.

"Of course!" He smiled, "As long as one of us stays with Oliver we should be able to go about our normal business." It was a perfect time for him to try and surprise her with her human baking more goods... that is if he could pull it off... at least she wouldn't see him making a fool out of himself trying. He did want her to be able to lead her normal life as well, she needed it he could tell and if it would help her keep her center he was all for it so long as Oliver saw her regularly. It might not be often at first that they could get away but Oliver would get use to them being around gradually and they would be able to get out more and more without causing him undue stress. He would stay with Oliver as long as he needed teaching him divination it would help bond them and the fact that his father had the skills meant there was a good shot Oliver would too. It meant too that he could pass his grandfathers knowledge on. The time they spent together would allow Odessa to do other things than be tied to them and it would keep Oliver's mind off of her absence. It would work out well he thought.

Odessa smiled at the other "thank you, I promise I wont be too long" she said, dying now just to see her parents.
((And I shall fast forward as it seems easier to do so. XD))
Odessa had spent the past three hours at her mothers, crying more, eating sugary treats, talking etc but now it was time to go home and face the music.
Oliver had gotten up by then and had decided to go out and explore, he had been curious about where his mother had gotten but after a few words from his father about how she would be back soon he wasn't worried and decided to go search the near by bushes for berries.
Odessa arrived home and noticed Oliver happily sniffing around the berry bushes and sighed, looking down at the ring and took a couple of deep breaths before smiling and walking over to him "having fun?" She asked, walking over and nuzzling him.
Oliver looked up happily and placed two paws on his mothers nose and licked it "yep! That human of yours said she would be back soon with dinner and dessert And Sayako and Thane said they would be back to join us for dinner also!" He said, having met Thane earlier for the first time which was fun, he had been a very good hide and seek player, he would have to play with him again, maybe after dinner.
"Thats great! I am glad you had fun" she said as she looked over at Gersif "I will be just over by your father, I just need to speak to him for a few moments alright?" She said as Oliver nodded and saw a bunny poking his head out of a hole and decided to go investigate. "So..." she said as she walked over to him and sat down "how was he?"
((I apologise for god moding Gersif a little but I thought it may have been a little better then just not saying anything and I had to have him do or say something about why Odessa wasn't around so...))

(no worries smile Though I woulda been interested in seeing Gersif attempt to communicate with you XD )
Gersif had been watching Oliver until Odessa came walking up, he smiled welcoming her back. "He was great, little worried about you but that's to be expected. He's a good kid." Gersif got up from his laying position and stretched his back he expected the others to be coming back sometime soon as well.
"How was your trip?" He was hoping her human would be back soon, it had been quite the difficult ordeal trying to get her to bake more apple crumble and he thought he might have sprained his foot in one attempt, he wondered if he had even managed to be successful or if she had just left. A frown of disappointment flashed onto his face before he recovered and it was gone. "Everything go well?"

"That's good, I should of come back before I took off but I just wanted to keep the appointment, it was bad enough I was late, I should of been punctual, something the Kitsu I was seeing, liked me to be but she understood the situation" she said as she watched Oliver and nodded "it did after the slight reprimand but it was good seeing them, they want to see Oliver soon" she said with a sigh, her parents were understanding and supported her and all but still, she wasn't sure if she could handle all the fuss at this moment in time. When she heard the story and saw the ring her mother was about to kill her just for having something as precious as the dead womans ring around her neck, she thought that was going a little too far when those things were meant to be a symbol of love etc and not something to be used in something like this parent scam even if it was for a good cause and yes, she did agree with her, but it couldn't be helped.
Lenore walked back the cave moments, in two hands were two large picnic baskets filled to the brim with food, a third balancing carefully on her head which she had silently thanked her mother for forcing her into charm school when she was younger and under her chin she was carrying a picnic blanket and decided that if they were going to have dinner and desert and all of that they can have it out in the sun, it was a beautiful and rather warm late afternoon so they might as well enjoy the last days of summer whilst they could. "Well guys, I be back and I swear, you lot are going to eat me out of house and home and I don't even LIVE here with you" she said as she smiled at the others "come on, we will have this out by the lake" she said as she turned around slowly and started towards the lake carefully, hoping that she wasn't going to trip over anything on her way.
Odessa sighed, Lenore was really going to kill herself one day and all because she couldn't handle just going back to the house, which was a ten minute walk, if that, from here to there and get the rest but she just followed and whatever she had in there smelt wonderful.

Gersif nodded pleased that it went well, she hadn't told him who she had gone to see, but he didn't push the issue. Either she would tell him eventually, or it wasn't important enough to know, either way there was no point in asking and she had said they wanted to meet Oliver so it was more likely than not that he would meet them.
When her human arrived however he was quite pleased, apparently he had gotten the message across better than he could have hoped! A big grin spread on his face as he looked at Odessa as if to say 'surprise'. He hoped she would be pleased, it had taken him a great deal of effort to portray the message he wanted but the contents of the baskets smelt wonderful and set his stomach growling. He followed the human to the lake tails wagging happily. "Oliver, come have a picnic with us down by the lake!"
Their first family outing, he smiled to himself, a beautiful day in a beautiful place with a beautiful if fake family, nothing could be better... save maybe if they were a real family, but that would come in time so long as they stuck together. Their little family would become real enough.

Oliver looked up from the poor rabbit he was tormenting and bounded after his parents, pleased more then anything just to be spending time with them after so long.
Odessa smiled at Gersif, the surprise was wonderful, a tad scared on Lenores prt but still it was wonderful "thank you" she said softly as she lent over and licked his cheek, dying to get stuck in, she was hungrier then she first thought.
Thane and Sayako had arrived at the cave just as the others had left and so they started to follow them, the food they smelt smelt awesome.

Gersif stopped and waited for Oliver to catch up before walking on again, he didn't want the boy feeling like he was being left behind. He welcomed Oliver with a smile and resumed his walk to the lake. "Was that a rabbit I saw back there?" He wondered if he had been treating it respectfully, everything deserved respect. It was something he would have to keep an eye on and address if need be, he didn't want Oliver to become a bully. The lick Odessa gave broke his train of thought and nearly caused him to blushed, a goofy smile spread across his face in its place glad he had pleased her.
He gave a nod to Thane and Sayako welcoming them back, he was going to have to get use to them being around and part of the family, he had hoped for a more intimate setting with Odessa and Oliver but it seemed that would have to wait.

Oliver caught up to the others and nodded at his father "yep, it was, it was cute to" he said, having annoyed it a bit but, in the long run, he didn't think it was that upset, they actually were starting to get along before he had to leave even if the rabbit wasn't 100% sure of him still.
Thane and Sayako smiled at Gersif and nodded hi back.
Lenore reached the lake and carefully placed the two baskets in her hands down and then lifted off the third and placed it beside the others and laid the blanket out before opening up the baskets and started placing the food on it, there was potato salad, large plates of sliced ham, lamb, chicken and pork, coleslaw, sliced tomato, cucumber, steamed veggies, roast pumpkin, sweet potatos and normal potatoes, normal salad, gravy and salt and pepper. Lenore then took out large plastic disposable plates, utensils for the different foods, disposable bowls, bottles of mineral water, lemonade, cola and freshly squeezed orange juice and then proceeded with the rest of the food which consisted of rhubarb muffins, strawberry cheesecake, double chocolate mud cake, apple crumble, rocky road ice cream (that was in its own little cooler container she had gotten made by a friend years ago for such occasions) ', custard, whipped cream and raspberry, strawberry caramel and chocolate topping and sprinkles and nuts.
"Now, I admit I didn't make all of this, the meat was brought and so was the cheesecake and mud cake but the rest was made, had I made all this you wouldn't be seeing me till this time tomorrow" she said smiling at the others "now before you dig in just tell me what you want and I will get it for you, one at a time please I am only one person" she said as she pucked up the plates and set them down in front of her, picking one up so she could be ready for the orders.
Odessa had settled down and was just looking at the food, she didn't know where to begin, everything looked so wonderful "I think we should let Oliver go first" she suggested to the others after a few moments of being speechless and realising that she should say something.
Oliver looked at the food and was jumping around a little, the spread looked delicious! But when his mother spoke he looked to her and then at the others hoping it was alright to go ahead, in his mothers absence he had been taught by Sayako he had to wait till she had said he was allowed to help himself or whatever so, as he was taught he waited, he really didn't want to but he did.
Sayako and Thane nodded, both not minding the wait, they got to look at the food so meh, it was better then nothing for the time being.
Oliver looked to his father to see if he didn't mind him going first either.

Oliver's response was enough to satisfy Gersif, the tone which Oliver spoke seemed to speak of wonder rather than malice and that was all Gersif needed to know. If the boy had wonder about those around him he couldn't have hate and teaching respect for all living things would be that much easier if he hadn't learned it already.
He had already eaten earlier and wasn't yet hungry, he was use to eating small meals and hadn't yet the room in his stomach for more but he had worked so hard at getting the human to make the meal he didn't feel it was right not to eat. Once the human laid out the utensils he quirked an eyebrow, was he expected to use them? He looked to Odessa questioningly, he didn't know how to eat with those things and if he tried he would make quite a spectical.
Gersif smiled and nodded at Oliver, he couldn't resist rubbing the boys head affectionately, it was something his father use to do to him when he was small... before he passed, it had always made him feel better and Oliver really was a good kid and quite respectful. It brought back good old memories Gersif had thought were lost forever.
