heres mine but its not a hippidy hoppidy one:
Summer's Life Line:
I rise as the sun beam's down on this empty darkened room.
It seem's to call on me as it is determined to brighten the dull morning's groom.
As it Swallow's the earth, i awake on the best day of our life.
Summer's coming and going but this day shall be different.
Neighborhood kid's skid through the afternoon's gloom,
They Hope to enjoy life as it is, School is out and wished never again to come back.
Sprinkler's are raiding the lawn as kid's through the ages enjoy the cold blistering sun.
It's like Life as never began, like they never had responsibility's, so they forget what call's on them and delight's the beautiful day as it is.
By the time night fall's, Kid's are yawning and crawling with pleasure.
They are sure this summer would be great.
The adult's were drinking and cooling in the night's summer air.
Seem's to, that they have to enjoyed this pleasureful glistening evening.
As the kid's run to they're now colored and so wanted houses, they cant wait for the next day.
They Never want to grow up, never to go to school, but as school comes,
The summer end's... They're Life begin's once again.

The warmth of Summer is coming soon
the season we look for in the month of June
Children are free from school once more
the parks are full of kites that soar
of different colors in the sky
and cloud formations way up high
The beaches are crowded as they can be
Some days will be unbearably hot
and the comfort of coolness will be...sought?
Shade trees used by one and all
from the biggest of people, to the small

El cielo es celeste mar y la atardecer rojo fuego
Mi corazón por ti esta en llamas.

lloro noche y tras noche.
Cada Ves el Cielo se le va yendo el color.
pero mi corazón sigue lleno de amor
El cielo es gris tormenta y el atardecer negro como la oscuridad
yo sigo intentando encender tu corazón
pero cuando menos me doy cuenta ya son vacaciones
y tu, te vas...
Mi alma queda echa cenizas de aquel lleno corazón en Llamas...
Y yo... Ya deje de existir para ti.
Llegando a la escuela te veo de vuelta
y mi corazón esta como hielo
duro y frió... y no me queda otra
que morirme por que comiencen las vacaciones de nuevo,
para que así no pueda verte.

A Summer’s breeze
With emerald leaves
Sweetened bowls of ice
Light meals with spice
The changing of season
And with it all reason
The cold Winter’s dark hold
Becomes Springtime gold
The bird finally sings
Of joys Summer brings I pmed it as well, i hope i did this right!

Summer Days
Summer days are here for me
Say good by to those nasty winds
i wish i may
i wish i had
these lovely days
before i'm back
those blossoms which bloom
and i go KA BOOM
get a tan while at the beach
scream, shout and fell alive
these summer days just go by quick

Ok here's my first entry, it's not blatantly about summer though, so I hope I'll get a little artistic license here...
A Moment in Passing (Summer Run)
I see you running towards me
ponytail flying
face red
harsh breath like glass
feet pounding the pavement.
The shadows over your left shoulder
are so faint
but they stretch out their tiny paws
to trip you just the same.

Sent mine in but will post them here too I guess. They are based mostly on personal experiences with some small changes.
Separated
Rain drips off the branch above us
It roles down my flowered umbrella
Kneeling on the damp grass
Palms to the earth
I can almost feel you
Six feet and twenty seven years separate us
The summer sun breaks through the storm
Looking up while blinking away tears
A single blossom falls gently to the foot of the stone
As a rainbow forms on the horizon.
The River Holds The Key.
The river holds the key
Life and death it will decide
Glistening, smooth and glassy
But dangers it can hide.
Spring melt turns to summer torrents
Unknown the swimmer
Raging undercurrents and strainers
Dragged under hope grows dimmer.
Breath fades and consciousness darkens
No struggling now
Sudden light, pain and air
Out of the depths and alive but how?
Same Old Summer Day.
Sun heated sand
Waves lapping the shore
Jet skis and swimmers break the silence
People laying on towels soaking up the rays
Families at the tables shooing bugs from the food
Elderly women with dropping sunhats watching babies
While their daughters take a break from motherhood.
Setting sun marks the time for all to look to the sky
And watch the display for our freedom on the Fourth of July.
