"Are you kidding me? I've been in the army since I was 19. It dosen't come with a wedding chapel, ya know."Leon said, then leaned back in his chair. "Do you got anyone?" He asked.

Christine shook her head. "I went to an all girls school until I was 16, and when I got out of school, every guy I met had no interest in me. They would either make fun of my black hair, or say I was too thin." She twirled a piece of her long hair. "It doesn't help I don't get out of the house very often either." Christine glanced out the window for a second after she had seen movement outside. She saw what looked like two soldiers heading up to her front door. "Leon...I do believe your co-workers are here..." She said then backed up from the window slowly.

"Oh, wonderful." Leon said, then rolled his eyes. "I guess I must be heading now, it was great to meet you." He stood up, and put on his coat, then opened the door, closing it tightly behind him. "I've got everything under control here, fellows. Was just spending the night, instead of sleeping on those awful army cots. You can move on to the next house." He said to the two soilders that were already on the front porch.

Before she could say goodbye, he was already out the door. "Bye.." She whispered in the now empty house. Christine sighed then walked over and locked the door. Although her pride was too high for her to admit, she did enjoy his company, even if he was the supposed enemy. But she knew the likely hood of him returning were very slim, or if he did return, it more than likely wouldn't be for company.

Leon, after saying goodbye to his "co-workers", was walking down the block, keeping watch, for the fourth time in a row. It was only then that something caught his eye. Two people, hand in hand, somwhere around the age of fourty-five were quickly rushing down the street, and stepping onto Christine's porch. They opened the door and just about ran in. Leon rounded the block once more before his curiosity got the better of him. He cut through her yard and crouched under what he thought would be the kitchen window. He could hardly make out the whispers coming from inside. "Oh, Agnes! They're shipping us away to some work camp. Can you belive it? Should we tell Christine?" A man's voice worried. Now a woman was speaking, "I don't know... It's good that we recieved news of this soon. I guess there's still some time left, no use to worry her... But then again, you've heard the rumors before. What they say they do to people like us in those..." He couldn't make out anymore, it sounded like someone had walked into the room. (Hope you don't mind I made up the parent's names)

(No Its fine. If you need to make things up for your details its fine with me) Christine was in her parent's room, fixing the bed that Leon had slept in, when she heard her parents come in. She quickly started working so she wouldn't have to explain to her parents why their bed was messed up. She thought it was best if she didn't mention that a Nazi soldier had slept in their bed and she had found him somewhat charming. Once Christine finished, she walked into the kitchen and hugged her mom from the side. "Momma, I didn't expect you home so soon.." She noticed the pale blank expressions on both of her parents faces. "What's wrong?" She asked worried. Her mom sighed and grabbed Christine's hand. "Chris...The Nazis are sending us to a work camp.." Before her mom could finish, she pulled her hand back and took a step away from her parents. "No...No!" She screamed as tears filled her eyes.

Leon crouched there for some time. He was amazed that these people had ways of getting information even he didn't have. He peeked through the window, hoping not to be seen.

Christine's mother grabbed her by her shoulders. "We will get through this! You are our last surviving child Christine! We wont let anything happen to you!" Christine pushed her mother off of her and ran to the door. "Oh and I suppose your going to request to the Nazis they keep your precious daughter safe while in the working camps, right?" She opened the door and ran outside and started down the street. She ran as fast as she could, wiping the tears out of her eyes so she could see where she was going. She saw a park four blocks up the road and she headed there. Finding a bench in the middle of the park, she sat down and pulled her knees to her chest and cried.

Leon, seeing how she fleed, chased after her by instinct. He ran up to the bench where she sat, and standing behind it, put his hands on her shoulders. "You wanna talk about it?" He asked, feeling akward holding her like that.

Christine hadn't even noticed that he had followed her until she felt his hands on her shoulders. She didn't even have to look up to tell who it was. "I don't wanna die like a pig..I didn't do anything wrong to be treated like this! I don't practice the religion of my parents, but because my parents are Jewish, I'm going to be killed!" She shook harder and cried louder. She held her hands across her face so he wouldn't see her red eyes and tears.

"I don't understand what it is with you... erm, people, thinking that we're going to kill you there. Everyone says your only going there to work. But IF those rumors you've created are true, then things are only going to get worse, and you have bigger chances of survival by going there. If you try to run away, you'll get shot immidietly." Leon said, only to realize afterwards that he didn't make things better.

Christine wanted to snap an insult at him but a more powerful question came to mind. She looked up at him and wiped away a few tears. "Why are you here? Did you follow me?" She asked quietly and in a mono-tone voice. He should have been far from her house by the time she ran out. For the most part her shaking had settled but she still had tears coming down from her eyes. She glanced over at the swastika on his uniform and looked at it for awhile while waiting for his response.
((could we start to build the relationship of the characters? or if you had something else in mind thats fine too))

(Sure.)
Leon cupped his hand under her chin and pulled it up so that she was looking at him. He wanted to take her thoughts away from the rumors, and it was the only way he could think of. "I guess I couldn't get enough of how beautiful you are. I kinda hung around, hoping I could catch a glance at you here and there." He said, hoping it didn't make him seem like a stalker.

Christina couldn't help but smile through the tears and blush a bright red. She had never been told she was beautiful before and she had began to think she would never hear the word used on her. Touching his hand, she gently pulled it off her face and held it. His hand was much larger than hers, and much warmer too. "Thank you." She whispered, then stood and wrapped her arms around him tightly.

Leon had a brief urge to kiss her, but he didn't want to mess with her mind anymore. He figured she had enough to think about already, even though he himself didn't see why it was such a difficult thing, the whole camp thing seemed to be a big deal for her. He pulled her closer and hugged her for a long time, suprised at how fragile and delicate she felt.
