redoing mind stats Int 12 Wis 12 Cha 17
yerp, high stat in cha. Think I'll be a . . . cleric
you know . . . I qualify for druid! I've never been a druid in AD&D, so this is my chance, I guess. I'll be a half-elf, since druids are already kinda outcasty. Or society-independent, I should say.

I tracked down a Player's Handbook, so I can actually look stuff up myself now.
Is it ok to start as middle-age? I might opt to be the third half-elf, and be middle age.

Middle-age characters lose 1 point each of Str and Con, and gain 1 point each of Int and Wis.

Hmm...
*flips coin* I'm going to have to go with no, since you're level 1.

Ok, no late bloomers then. I think I might still go with half-elf, since I wouldn't need to carry a light source. Do I need to buy a spellbook? I know I can't cast spells yet, but can I find and write them down? I don't see spellbooks listed in the equipment section.
Also, I don't particularly want to make an account on Mythweavers. Is one of my code-tag character sheets ok (I know you've seen enough of them) or should I make something nicer?

You can't write spells into your spell book that are higher level than you can cast. Wizards start the game with a spell book, but I don't see anything about how bards get theirs.

I guess.
And mages or bards start with books... mutliclassing into one later you gotta buy one.
