Geordan turned. "I know what you mean... It's just not natural to have a wicked grin like that..."

"Yeah. . ." She replied with a frowned. "Actually, I think I will have to go and pay him a visit about my mailmen hat. I kind of lost mine in the forest after that stupid Like Like attacked me, and I think he's the only one in Clock Town who can make me a new one. I best go now. . . See you guys later. Nora waved and swung away on her crutches.

Geordan watched as she hobbled away, feeling sorry for her. She then remembered. "Nora, wait! I've got a letter for you to my aunt in Ordon Village!" She remembered how her aunt sent her some money monthly to help her get by.

"Okay, so it is not just me who thinks that the mask man is creepy. Any who, so how do we deal with Skullkid? Do we just find him and beat him to a pulp and take the mask off his face or does anyone else have a better idea?"

"Oooooh a letter! I'll deliver it straight away!" She dropped her crutches and assumed a determined expression. She tried to start running but fell down. ". . . Ouch. Maybe It'll have to wait a little while." Nora looked defeated and crestfallen.
She turned to Alexander. "Um, do you really think all that would be necessary??* She looked incredulous. "I mean, he has not done anything to harm anyone. He's just some annoying punk right? . . . Or is there something I'm missing? Like. . . well, what's with that ugly mask of his?"

"Hmmmmmmmm... maybe it's the mask. I mean he hasn't really done anything bad 'til he got the mask. Just thinking about the mask gives me the creeps. "

Nora looks contemplative. She suggests, "Hey, speaking of creepy, if we want to find out whether it's that mask that is making the skull kid cause mischief we could go ask the mask seller about it. He should know." She gives one swift, sturdy nod, and then falters. "Uhm, I- I don't want to go alone though. . . will you guys come?" Nora looks around at the group expectantly.

"Sure I'll go with you but I do hope he doesn't do anything crazy like pick me up and shake me around a lot like I was a rag doll. But I don't think he would do that. Where is he?"

"I'll go too. I have something to ask him too. And last I saw he was in that pawn shop in the west side of town."

Nora looks pleased and relieved at the support and says, "Well alright then lets head out. I know that old pawn shop your talking about." Nora seizes her crutches and attempts to lead the group. She falls behind after her third hobble and looks ridiculous trying to keep up.
They arrive at the pawn shop and Nora presses her face up against the cluttered front window. "I don't see him. I guess he left already. . . Hey!!! Look at that! They'er selling a piece of heart in there!" Nora hurries animatedly into the shop. She looks at the price of the piece of heart, "Whaaat 1,000 rupees. That's insane. My wallet doesn't even hold that many. Impossible. . ." But the pawn shop owner seeing her bright red mailmen hat says, "Excuse me, can you deliver a letter for me, please?" Nora turns to him, "Of course! At your service." Nora gives a little, clumsy curtsey. The pawn shop owner says, "Can you deliver this letter to the Mask Man for me? He is not from around here but he set up a tent near the Clock Tower." Nora takes the letter, "I'm on my way!"
Nora leaves the pawn shop with the letter in her hand. For the first time in her entire career as a postwoman she felt tempted to break the rules and open the letter.
She turned to the others and the question was plain in her eyes: Should we read it?

"Yeah you can be naughty for once in your life or be crazy like the postman who is obsessed with the rules and his schedule. But again it's up to you." Funny thing is the postman passed by the group and didn't even hear that Green said that.

Nora's eyes darted back and forth between Alexander and Green. Their expressions were so careless. She thought to herself, "Pah, warriors. They just don't understand mail. When people write letters they put such valuable information into them. That's why it is such a strict rule not to read clients mail. . . and also why I am so tempted to read this one. Something strange is going on here. When that pawn shop owner gave me this letter he simply told me to deliver it. . . but something in his eyes expressed a feeling of anxiousness about it."
Nora took a few shaky steps down the lively street full of ordinary city dwellers going along their everyday business. Alexander and Green moved to help her, but suddenly Nora side stepped into an alleyway and pulled them in with her. "Okay here is what I'm thinking," declared Nora, "Either this letter contains something as useless as a receipt or I don't know a check or something- or, it is something else. . . something in that old pawn shop owner's eyes gave me a strange feeling. He almost looked. . . guilty about something. . . So! I'm going to open it and if we get caught you guys are going to have my back right?" She looks at them hopefully. They had only just met after all and this was a big favor to ask.
"Right, well, here goes." Nora ripped open the envelope above the red wax stamp. She read aloud, "Mask Seller, I have not changed my mind. The skull kid has never before acted this way. I know that he has always stolen from travelers in the forest. He used to bring me little things like daggers, flutes, the occasional piece of jewelry; and, I admit that I should not have accepted it. But you must understand it was his only means of income. It was his only way to survive. His kind is not welcome in this town and he could not get a job here. I could have done more. I could have done something better, I know. I take full responsibility for your loss. If I had taught him better, the skull kid would never have stolen your mask. I can tell that losing this mask troubles you immensely. When the skull kid comes to sell the mask to me I will tell him to go and return it to you. Please, do not report any of this! I will sort it out. The Pawn Shop Owner."
Nora looked up at Green and Alexander.
