Just for the record, what do you define a Conservative as?
Someone who believes in small business, and a government who should protect our personal rights.
Someone who believes government shouldn't spend a shitload of money on pointless things.*cough*Bush*cough*.
Someone who believes in
democracy.
I agree with you 100%. You make total sense.
Conservatives believe: in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional American values and in a strong national defense. They believe the role of government should be to provide people the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals.
I define myself as a Conservative. I believe in both small and large business. I believe that everyone has the right to succeed or fail on their own. I believe that lower taxes increase monetary flow. I believe in the smallest national and local government possible. I believe in personal responsibility. I believe in truth. I believe in the Constitution of the United States of America. I believe in our republic, and I believe in the ideals of our founding fathers, who left us this nation if we can keep it. I believe that God was instrumental in the forming of this country. I believe that the government does not need to take care of us cradle to grave. The government was not put about to protect your personal rights. They were put about to protect the Constitutional rights of all law-abiding citizens. The government itself is not a personal entity. They don't represent you, they represent the people in their city, district, state, or nation as a whole. The only exception to this is the Supreme Court, which represents the Constitution, and nothing but. I could go on for hours about the purpose of government and the way it is set up. I'm going to be a history teacher, so I should know all of this. That's what I'll leave you with for now.
