The starting price is $75. (:
And yeah, that's what I've been trying to do. It's just a slow moving process. I wish I received more OC commissions than I do portrait ones. When there is an actual person to compare it too, people get more nit-picky with it. So hopefully, posting around Gaia will get me there. There's a lot of cool characters around here.

yea there is : ) 75 $ seems like a fair starting price. What are some factors that make your prices go up?

Just the number of characters, backgrounds, coloring method, or most recently, the deadline. Someone commissioned me recently with a 4 day deadline. Talk about stressful. I have a real job too. ;_;

woah. $75 for startin price? i feel like i'm undercharging myself. but most of the time i feel like i'm not qualified to. xD my prices starts at $12 - $30 xD that's just it smile [here]As for buying, i do buy arts also, it helps me deal with my clients more successfully, since i knew how to be a client myself smile i sell art to be able to actually earn lol so i don't buy art that much myself, only when it's really love like $10 for a really beautiful one then i can't help myself buying. xD

I think you could probably boost your prices zeamay, it depends on how often you wanna work and for how much. Say a full body pic takes you 15 hours to draw, charging 30 dollars for the drawing will only bring you 2 dollars an hour... so maybe its not worth the effort put into it? But thats compleatly up to you as well.... By charging lower prices your sure to rank in more customers who want great art with the lowest buy price available 3nodding

I do RL commissions, I keep my prices pretty low without completely ripping myself off for my work since I'm not very popular. I've been doing art enouogh years and improved so I think I deserve to have a little bit of an ego wink Its hard to get motivated to do something when you're barely making anything off it, so I always tell artists not to sell themselves too short xd I don't charge a lot though because it makes me really nervous about making the commissioner happy and feel what they got was worth it. I do conventions so generally get a handful of commissions at each one. I also do them online via mail, and its random if I get some or don't get much for a while. I make so little at my job, my art/crafts profits are about all I have for any "fun" purchases, most of my paychecks go to bills. Though the economy lately has been making even that hard. Stupid economy.
I don't usually buy art since I don't have much extra money. I try to trade with artists I really would like art from, though most of them are too busy (which is completely understandable.) Though I don't offer to trade if I think they're too much better than me, which is a lot of people.
I do like to buy things like comics or artbooks from artists I like to help support them if I can afford it.
