NO PROBLEM. Seriously! Practically every day I think of reasons why I'm better off without him. Like the fact that being around him always made me feel pressured to be a "novelist" like him (when my creative strengths really lie with acting and with crafts stuff like scrapbooking), or how he always acted like he didn't want to have anything to do with me, or how he was really snobby about the weirdest stuff! Bleagh! scream Sometimes I go crazy and start thinking I miss him, but then I just think of how he's broken my heart. Well, that and the fact that NONE of my family or friends like him. That should have been a big red flag right there! Ah, well. Whoever said I was smart enough to think of things like that? Not me! blaugh

I didn't date anyone in high school or college, and actually went so far as to continuously decline someone for many years. Why? Because there was no one there for me. And I'm glad I did. Because I met my fiance when I least expected it. Now we are getting married in February and I got to avoid all that drama.
So take heart girls, suitable men are out there, but like any treasure, they take some time to find. wink

I wonder if there is really a guy out there for me.
Btw Alvinette, I think that he could still be a cool friend, but not a boyfriend. 3nodding

I don't know. When we were supposedly "more than friends," he really treated me like less than a friend. And really, I think there's too much water under the bridge between him and me for a friendship to really work right now. Maybe somewhere along the line, in the sort-of distant future. But not now. I'm trying to just let him go and get on with my life. cry

I read the books. Loved em :]
Apparently I remind people of Edward, particularly my love [heh, I despise the use of the term "ex" so I merely use "love" or "friend" or some variant of the sort. Lol, I would explain, but I'd rather not bore people with lengthy details that incorporate psychology, basic definitions, and etc.... Short version of ONE reason: I have much respect and love for her to degrade her in such a manner because in all truth and honesty which most deny themselves of, she forever remains a crucial aspect of me and to degrade her would be to degrade myself. Have you ever heard the song "Tattoo" by Jordan Sparks?] and current love as well [...which is why I found it ironic when all of you started nicknaming me "Ed" even though it's derived from my avi name].
O_o I kind of find it sad and funny that even my relationship went pretty much in the same route as the books only without the vampire aspect, outrageously crazy moments, and the fact that it just didn't survive [may as well though, but lol nonetheless no... not "paranormal" enough]. It did involve all the romantic aspects and whatnot. Although, if anything I would say Jacob won in "my" version [mother ****er]. O_o Sadly enough, my love found Edward unappealing at some point too.
8D To add on to all of this romantic/relationship downers, I will add mine too:
I've never engaged in a relationship at all until High School due to fate/destiny which of course ended in disappointment and psychological problems for everyone [lol apparently the downfall of my relationship also lead to the downfall of many peoples' relationship to whom I was connected/known to at the time]. O_o And now I'm faced with a relationship once again by fate/destiny... to which I am supremely up to my neck with numbness, apathy, and cold because of the previous... most especially since my new love is pretty much an identical twin of my old love in pretty much ALL aspects. And I mean ALL... from house type, neighborhood type, blood type, hair color, physique, eye color, heritage, etc.... the only difference is... o_O the MORAL AFFINITY and general background/history that is subject to CHANCE and things that would affect MORAL AFFINITY.
Example: Marriage status of parents... divorced vs. together
Crazy isn't it? Now just try and tell me that's just a coincidence without a speck of doubt in your mind.
Heh, so I'm working my way to appreciating and being fully aware of what I have... because, who knew I'd have a second chance [and yes, SECOND... I've only ever had one other [lol and if this doesn't work out, there won't ever be a "third" coz I never planned for a "second" to begin with as my plan when I was a kid was to give Love ONE single chance and that if my ONE chance didn't work out... I'd probably just hate humans for sure or something like that lol, as if I don't already... heh]. But yeah, I ain't your average person who whores themselves around or jumps in thinking "THIS IS IT" every single damn time even though it's obvious it ain't. There is no shame in waiting. Dedication and patience in return are true signs of true love [I got rocks thrown at me before I actually engaged in a relationship with my first]. What's your hurry? A lifetime is longer than you think and an eternity with someone you don't truly love is not at all a great thing. The worse thing to have is to die with someone, knowing that deep down you don't really love them at all and that your greatest success is to have deceived someone so well with the greatest thing life has to offer... or of course, to die knowing you did nothing but deceive yourself. Ah well~
For those of you who want to go: "Damn, well... maybe it's not meant for me" or something like that. Nah, go with: "If it is your will, then it will be". Those are pretty much my last words of advice to my previous love and so far it's served her well. Keep em in your minds as well eh? :] Even pessimists, like me, can take a dose of hope every now and then.
8D So now I'm done... lol, if you enjoyed my ranting and whatnot then lolz thanks. Otherwise XD no problem. LOL sadly this is probably the most I'll ever say here in the guild.
Big note: Screw the movies. That s**t ruined Twilight.

LOL, no kidding! I was like, "Where did that come from?" You're too funny!
Maybe the reason your new love is so much like your old love is that you are attracted to a certain type of person. Although, the similarities are eerie. May I ask, what is the "moral affinity"? I assume you two have similar morals?

XD LoL... I rarely ever say anything, but there are things out there that actually hit and get me talking (very few things though XD).
And lol... moral affinity is one's tendency to be more "Good" or "Bad", "Positive" or "Negative", etc etc.
I'm towards the positive (irregardless of whatever I do that seems "questionable"), same for my new love (without the "questionable" portion) -- my previous is more towards the negative (although changing... not surprising since, mutability is what defines human-ness after all).

That's certainly interesting ED! But thanks for bringing this topic up again because you just reminded me of a random thought I had. Have you ever noticed that Edward is very similar to Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice? I have proof!
-At first meeting with their respective woman, they are cold and aloof. In addition, they also offend their women. -The romances are secret and come as a surprise to the women's families. -They both go to the ends of the Earth to save their women. In Mr. Darcy's case, he searched all over to find Elizabeth's sister Lydia, and force her and her man Mr. Whickham to marry to preserve the families honor. Edward saves Bella's life against an evil vampire. -Both men are filthy rich. -They both try to maintain a distance from their women at the beginning of the books. -Throughout the course of the books, they are found to be never kind, noble, and gentle lovers. -The women get really mad at their men because the men are keeping secrets. Edward's secret was that he was a vampire. Mr. Darcy's secret was his past with Mr. Whickham and his involvement in Jane's marriage. -Both men are misunderstood and generally disliked by the general population. -They are both rejected the first time they ask their women to marry them. -They eventually marry their women in the end.
So, what do you think? Do I have a point?

If you're like Mr. Darcy, then there is a strong chance that many of the girls around you have been dreaming about your type. wink

LOL, Chbi, Stephenie Meyer openly admits she based Twilight a lot off of Pride and Prejudice. ^^; You're not the first person to probably notice that affinity between Edward Cullen and Mr. Darcy.
Oh man, are Elizabeth and Bella ever different, though! XD

Oh man, are Elizabeth and Bella ever different, though! XD Seriously! eek No wonder I was an Edward fan when I read the books! blaugh But I can actually see a few similarities between Bella and Elizabeth. They both refuse their first marriage proposals, and they are both intelligent. I think it ends there though. sweatdrop Bella is to much "mush," but Elizabeth is a strong confident woman who thinks more with her head than with her hormones. lol But that reminds me, have you ever heard of the book Mr. Darcy, Vampyre?

LOL! Yes I have! In fact, I just mentioned it in the Game Subforum.
Bella is supposed to be smart, but we never actually get any examples of her intelligence. rolleyes It's like, "Okay Mrs. Meyer, you told us through narration that she's smart now follow through with some actual examples besides, 'She got straight A's despite the fact that she dangerously depressed.'" ^^;
But that's probably just me being a literature snob again! blaugh
