Having been forced into combat sooner than Taem wished the Drow gave a soft sigh before moving to his right and hefted a magically enchanted dagger at squirrel 5 which would return to his hand after finishing its course.

Move Action: 2E
Standard Action: Sly Flourish: 1d20 + 11(base to-hit with daggers) - 2(cover) = 12(miss?);1d4 + 6 + 3(cha mod) = (attack missed, didn't roll)

((As discussed earlier, no. the branches are only 5-feet off the ground, so the squirrels are in normal melee range, but they have cover from the branches.))

Taem's Dagger flies through the branches and lands in the grass beyond the tree before reappearing back in his grasp. The Squirrel squeaks angrily as the projectile misses, "Your nuts will be ours!" and bounds over the branches before drawing and firing a tiny arrow at the drow, unfortunately the sudden motion causes it to shoot wide.

Then the other squirrel in the same tree bounds across the branches before firing its own arrow after the drow, this one actually taking the time to find its balance, and connecting. "We will pry your nuts from your cold, dead pants!" you all desperately hope that was a misunderstanding of that figure of speech.

I keep forgetting: anyone within five squares of a carbuncle gets combat advantage against all enemies, which is currently all of you. Taem still missed though.))

Fawks swats the squirrel out of the branches, it doesn't even have the chance to make a noise before it lands broken on the ground. Jesus man, it was just a squirrel (and a minion). His fellows don't seem to take kindly to your victim's demise, several do the closest rodent approximation of growls. One, however, is so enraged that he leaps from his branch, scurries around one of the strange white pillars up to the tree before you and attempts to pelt you with one of the little tooth picks they're using as arrows. Way to piss off the little nut-biters. The arrow bouncing off the goliath harmlessly probably didn't help.

The armadillos don't seem nearly so violent. One creeps closer to Fawks, apparently fascinated by the crushed rodent before him, "Wow, that looks like it hurt," he hears a voice similar to the one from earlier ring in his head. Another approaches Van with the armadillian equivalent of a smile, "Do you really wanna be friends?" the psychic questions sounds quite excited by the prospect.

moving up, Sylvanis gets near the tree that fawk is at, swiping at the squirrels with his battle axe. Maneuvering through the branches, He just can't get a clear target. "Damn squirrels with their climbing and their cute furry tails."

Sylvanis's swipe is unfortunately ineffective, doing nothing but showering him with leaves, which provides cover enough for the squirrel to bound over the branches away from him before pulling another arrow and firing on the half-elf, "Your nuts will be ours!" The half-elf having so isolated himself from the rest of the party, the reactive arrow is joined two more arrows fired by the squeaking archers, one from behind, and another from the north.

It is at this point that the two shining white pillars begin to move. They both, as one, warp into humanoid shapes, like a child's sculpture in play-doh blown up to 10-feet tall. The one near Sylvanis swings a club-like hand at the half-elf, but apparently his imaginary giant child had trouble with proportions, and it comes up short.

The other lumbers toward the two slow-to-act heroes, and swings both its arms around in a squishy-looking bear hug. Van manages to avoid the gooey grapple, but Colbertron is partially enveloped by the clay-man. Then, for no obvious reason, the creatures changes its form into that of a human in a suit, with somewhat chiseled features and a haircut that looks like it's still recovering from a major shave. It is still solid white and looks like he's made of clay though. "Nation, we all know the only way I could lose in mortal combat is if I win. This is Formidable Opponent!" it declares in a voice almost as robotic sounding as Colbertron.

Just before Van acts, Sylvanis hears a rather dopey sounding "Hello," in his head. The armadillo next to him is wagging its tail.

"Yes," the warforged replied simply, drawing his spear, "but I must help my other friends first."

Before he could even approach the squirrels and harry them back, however, something else had appeared and lumbered its way over to both of the mechanical men on the field. Vanguard turned in surprise to the giant thing, and ducked what looked like less than a friendly hug.

Surging with primal power, Van challenged the clay-tower-man and backed away from it, before striking with his spear. He did not know what this big thing was, but the loss of its friendship did not seem to bother him so much.

The sudden shapeshift of the putty-man apparently threw off the warden's aim, as his spear thrust just barely missed, and the inaccurate-impersonation remained rather oblivious to it. ((Counting combat advantage you missed by one. sweatdrop ))

Meanwhile, the half-elf retained the title of "Easiest to shoot," taking two more tiny arrows from the trees he's not standing next to. He doesn't look like he's doing so good. Who knew splinters could pack so much of a punch?

((Sylvanis, 10 more damage. he was bloodied the last time i shot him, FYI guys. you ready to give up yet?
