Oh, my. sweatdrop That doesn't sound too promising. I'm about to start watching the J-Drama version of Absolute Boyfriend, and now I'm worried that the ending will make ME have the same reaction.

Trussardi lilchibiusa It rather weird, but I'll put it in white for those who don't want to know. Spoiler Alert! You find out that the lady who has been giving Chi clothes was the wife the man who created Chi and Freya (sp?). Then, she decides to kill Chi and then Freya overtakes Chi's body (because Freya gave Chi her memories before killing herself). Hideki announces that he will love Chi (and marry her?) and that seems to satisfy everyone. The End. The was the anime version anyway. It didn't make a bit of sense. I want to look at the manga sometime.I don't remember it being much different, but it's been a while. Still it's not as bad as Absolute Boyfriend... the ending of that one made me want to use the manga as fireplace kindling, which I didn't act on only because we have one of those flat screen televisions that would get ruined if a spark from the fireplace hit it. The manga ending made absolutely no sense at all. xp Luckily, the J-Drama version made perfect sense. However, they both still have sad endings, but I would say that the J-Drama ending is more bitter-sweet and satisfying. The J-Drama pretty much fixed everything that the manga messed up. But, even with it being fixed, after seeing so many other J-Dramas, Zettai Kareshi is not really anywhere near my top favorites list. There are some truly amazing series out there that are really addicting. And, while the J-Drama of Zettai Kareshi was good, it wasn't exactly addicting. You'd have to watch it to see what I mean.

Oh I'm not saying that Zettai Kareshi [Absolute Boyfriend] is good or even worth reading when I mentioned it, so I really hope I didn't give that impression. I'm only saying that there are things with endings that are far more messed up than Chobits.

But back to Zettai Kareshi, the manga and J-Drama don't have much in common at all, which is probably why the J-Drama is good. For one thing, the J-Drama has nothing to do with sex whereas the manga is pretty much entirely about sex. For another thing, the characters are adults in the J-Drama. For another thing, there is plot complexity in the J-Drama, and it is just superior in every way to the manga. It actually makes a pretty cute story when done correctly. heart But, as for the special that comes after the ending of the J-Drama, I could have done without seeing that. It's not that it was terrible (which it was). It was just that it completely ruined the nice ending.

lilchibiusa I'm a huge Hetalia fan, but I don't think that the series has deteriorated at all. It simply moved from WWII to other times, topics, and political events. It never ceases to make me laugh. whee The second series is more geared towards yaoi fan service than actually comedy, which was the first series' theme. Thus far, the second series made me smile once or twice while the first series (specially the first season) would make me laugh.

Ok: Series 1: episodes 1-52 [Hetalia Axis Powers] -----season 1: 01-26 -----season 2: 27-52 Series 2 (or season 3): episodes 53-XX [Hetalia World Series] Basically, season 1 was, as we all know, refreshingly funny. On season 2, it was no longer fresh, but still conserved some of its comedic points. From season 3 onwards, basically the new series, Hetalia lost all comedy for the sake of yaoi fan service. The characters for Japan, England and Germany have suffered much from this.

The only yaoi that I can think of is when Sensei-Roma (The Holy Roman Empire) keeps swooning lovingly over Hetalia (Italy). This makes sense historically. But, in the context of Hetalia, Sensei-Roma keeps thinking that Hetalia is a girl (when Hetalia is in fact a guy). But, I think that whole thing is so sweet and adorable! whee heart
I thought that it was fresh all the time. I never stopped enjoying it.

There's also Austria's "Prussia has invaded my vital region" comment [vol 1, page #112 of US edition] that could be taken the wrong way. Especially considering that the empress [i.e. his leader] tells him not to speak so vulgarly. However Prussia doesn't acknowledge Austria as male during that one.

I guess you're right. lol But, the dirty jokes don't make me like it any less. Anyone who's watched any significant amount of anime should be used to seeing guy pairings and dirty jokes.
Did you know that Gaia released an item via Diedrich based off of Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt? xp I consider that series to be the death of anime, and Gaia makes an item with it! gonk I fear for the future of anime. This is one of those times that I can't help but say, "Really, Gaia?"

Anyway, I think the item itself looks shitty to the point that I wonder why anyone would want to use it. Yes there is the potentially rare item factor but if that's all there is to it, there are far better looking items. Anyway back to better anime and better anime items on Gaia... I've always considered the Idiot Hair to be a Hetalia item even though I don't have any proof.

But, it's the white flag that has me convinced that you are right. Otherwise, why would they put a white flag in an item like that? I'm so glad you pointed it out! xd Risky Angels isn't that great of an item. It looks like they copied and pasted the hair straight from the show without editing the colors and shades for Gaia. I love Gainex, and they have done some wonderful animes, but this whole Panty and Stocking thing just makes me want to cry. Hopefully it's just experimental, and they won't do anything like it ever again. xp But, back on a brighter note, I love I how Gaia has so many anime items. I used to have to settle for just the middle school uniform years ago, but now I can go all out! xd

It's a fun hat but every time I wore it, I would be thinking "but nobody can see my idiot hair." /emo Hetalia hair > elite hats Sadly though when it comes to school uniforms, male avatars really only have those sucky middle school uniforms and not much else. There's a petition about for better uniforms.
