*My eyes open, reflective in the background because of the light coming into the room, from the distance it seems like the cave is very big and deep* "K....Kai?.....that....that you?"

"Yes...it's me Manah. I wish I could have killed those hunters, but I'm glad your safe and that Drake was there. " ::goes to her and embraces her:: "I don't want to lose you not after I just met you."

Hanna slept sitting up, with her back against the wall and the sword across her knees. The moon was dark that night and her senses were at their keenest. She knew that the three of them were not the only ones in the swamp. She thought she could sense something else, but her nose was not as strong as Kallman's and neither was her hearing. After only two hours of sleep, she was awakened by her own restlessness and got up. After a look around the tree house, she realized that everyone else was still asleep. No matter, she thought. Kallman will find me if he wants when he wakes. She climbed down swiftly and dropped the last couple of feet to the ground, treading away softly into the still darkness of the night.

::Kallman's ears perk as he awoke. She was gone, and he was angry. She knew very well the swamp was dangerous and yet she traveled through it. He made sure to leave Drake a note. Then steadily followed her scent.::

The faster Hanna moved, the more restless she became. If she were any less rational, she would have run, and probably, fallen headlong into a quicksand pit. Grandmother had trained her well. She realized she was lost when the ground dropped away suddenly in a sheer cliff. Cliff? In the swamp? she thought, swaying at the edge. In the darkness she could not retrace her steps. She would have to find a safe place to wait until dawn, which was yet hours away. Turning away from the cliff and the open face of the night sky, Hanna froze in place. There it was-the thing she had come here searching for. The Marsh hare was good eating, but that's not why she had searched it out. Hints of purple and green shimmered in its elusive, silver eyes, non-existent moonlight shimmered off a ruff of brownish fur. "Tusa urraim mise," she said, bowing low and twisting two fingers down toward the earth. You honor me. For the first time ever in her memory, a marsh hare turned away from her and began to bound elegantly away. Hanna couldn't hide her stunned surprise and stood still, until the hare looked back over its shoulder, as if to ask are you coming? Hanna followed it through the trees, winding ever downward it seemed, until finally the stopped at the base of the cliff that she had so nearly tumbled off of. At the bottom of its steep face was a cave. From inside it, voices floated in the air. When Hanna looked back down, the hare was gone. "Wait!" she whispered. "I have to ask you something!" but the marsh hare had vanished, taking its magic along with it.

::Kallman had followed her and tapped her on the back:: "If your going to hunt that your going to need some help. The swamp is too dangerous for a girl to be out by herself."

Hanna spun around, sword already swinging. She'd been too distracted to hear Kallman coming and he'd surprised her. When she saw who it was she stopped her blade, though it was a narrow miss. "You-you-" she paused to fight down anger at how easily he'd snuck up on her. She took a deep breath. "You don't hunt them, not the way you'd hunt anything else," she said, an edge in her voice. "I followed it here," she continued, sweeping an arm toward the entrance of the cave. "There has to be a reason," she muttered under her breath. "Why else would it bring me here?" She turned away from the wolf and studied the cave more closely. It was almost invisible, well hidden by rocks and vines. "Why else..." she wondered to herself, and stepped forward.

::Kallman grasps her shirt:: "I'm warning you if you don't allow me to help you you'll end up dead or worse. Make your decision I'm in no hurry." :: He explained using his strength to keep her from the cave.::

((oops-didn't get the hint about the map before. I'll use the cave for something else. Sorry Manah!))
Hanna jerked away and glared at Kallman, her gaze furious and calculating. "Why is it," she challenged, "that you think you have the right to stop me?" She stepped forward, forcing Kallman back a step. "Do you think this is the first time I've come here? Do you really think I could have gotten away so safely if I didn't know what I was doing?!"

The force of her anger gave her words all of the energy of a shout, though even in a moment of rage, Hanna remembered to keep her voice low. She stalked away, as if to leave him there, and stopped after a few steps, crossing her arms as she tried to calm down. She shouldn't have gotten angry, not over something so small. You just didn't expect anyone to be as stubborn as you, a small voice in her head accused. He is trying to keep you alive. I'm not used to people trying so hard, she thought back with a sigh. "I'm sorry," she said aloud. She turned to face him, wondering vaguely what he would do, or if he was even still there.

:: Kallman looked at her and shook his head:: "Your forgiven, now let's find this rare hare of yours. Just stay near me for, even though you've been here before there are still many dangers you do not see. You see once I was like you new to the swamp and because of my mistake I was scared for life" ::He took off his badanna on his head and revealed the large red scar on his forehead:: "I don't remember how I got it but I know now the dangers of living here, and it is my duty to protect those dear to me, my friends." ::Wraps badanna back around his head and waits for a response thinking now she'll think I'm a fool::
