Apart from making a success in the mainstream music, the rest of his life is a total wreck. Why? all he is, is a hypocritical LaVey loving coke head who makes uninspired trash covered up by a good gimmick. neutral You forgot to mention that he embezzles money from his band-mates, frequently mentions in his memoirs that he loves abusing and humiliating his sexual partners (without their consent), and contracted his first venereal condition by age 15. That guy is a living disaster confused Can't be a role model of any kind, and yet we didn't mention that he was caught for sexual assault and the list goes on.

Indeed, he is a living disaster.
I felt this earlier on, but I feel the need to say- People don't seem to be thinking much about the "role model" aspect of this thread. They just seem to be listing off people (or characters) who they like, regardless of whether or not that person is worth idolizing. Some people thus far mentioned could work on the list if you put some thought to it, but most really aren't ideal for role-model status.

Now I second Alice Cooper. From what I know of him, he seems to be a pretty stable, successful individual. Also GilAskan's description of Voltaire was very much what I'd consider a role-model to be.

AEtherclaw nor is it goth to be a stable individual Then explain to me why every single Goth I have come across are perfectly stable, well-respected people make a strong. positive contributions to their community...well, apart from most of the American 'goths' who've been in the UK and then kicked out of the country for one reason or another.

I have a friend who is related to alice cooper. . . he's her uncle (by marriage) . . . she didn't know for the longest time. . . Apparently it's a big huge difference when he isn't wearing his make up XD
Adams Family for sure. always my favorite TV/Movie family. since i was like 5.

I don't think he's been mentioned, but I would say Dani Filth is a fairly good role model.
He's a family man - when he's not touring he spends his time at home cooking, decorating, spending time with Luna. He's not the type to go out, get drunk and get in trouble with the law. He's intelligent, has a good sense of humour, doesn't tend to rise to insults and abuse.
Some people may say he isn't a good role model in the basis of his religion.
