Well, I actually learned a trick to swallowing pills. My friend, Becca, told me when I was complaining that I couldn't swallow pills. Take a bite of some bread, chew it up, but don't swallow it. Put the pill in the center of that nasty mush, and swallow. It works for me, so now I don't have to worry when I take pills. =) I never knew BC pills were super small.. >.> But, I won't even consider going on them for awhile, since I'm only 14, and will be 15 in... *checks cell phone*...24 days~! But, yeah. Too early for me. I've still been breaking out... I don't understand... ;____; I need something that can work before Wednesday. School pictures are on that day, along with check in for the new school year... =3=

I have really oily skin, I mean I wash my face, use products that "say" only to use them 3 times a week or else it'll dry out your skin. Well I use those twice a day, and after a few hours my face will be oily again. I'm thinking of trying fish oils. They tend to dry out skin instead of making it oilier. Oh! And Neosporin! If you have a really ugly pimple that you want gone in a few days, use that. It'll be gone in two days.
But on the birth control topic, I hear they regulate and shorten periods, right? Which type and brand is best? What are the side effect?

If you're 14 and breaking out, I hate to say it ... but that's the effects of being a teen. It's something you're stuck with until you finish your growing stages. XD;
You can talk to a dermatologist about getting something stronger than over-the-counter products, too. I had to do that in high school to cut down my break outs. Also, getting 15 minutes of direct sunlight and exercising daily will improve your skin. The sun helps stimulate your sells to produce Vitamin D which helps process Vitamin A [which is vital for your skin and preventing acne]. Also, exercising will help you purge your pores as you sweat, just be sure to shower after you do your exercising. (:
As for which birth control is "best" it really varies from person to person. It's something you have to talk to a doctor about, and something you just have to experiment with.
They all regulate your schedule so that you're not fluctuating around wildly, and they also help treat endometriosis [this is why I'm on BC to begin with]. Basically the pills [and other forms of birth control, such as the patch], prevent you from ovulating and trick your body into thinking that you need to flush the tissue and egg out, anyway.
The first pill I tried had an extra antibiotic in its ingredients list to help combat acne, since I was also on a pill for that to begin with. It gave me a regular period, which lasted five days. This is the best sort of pill to be on if you're only concerned about controlling your acne. The hormone doses are low and don't really do too much to change your natural cycles.
The pill I'm on now has a slightly shorter cycle such that my period only lasts two to three days at the most. This pill doesn't have an antibiotic in it, however, so my acne is still a problem now and then. Other pills will make it so you only get your period four times a year; there's also a new shot out that keeps you from having a period for up to five years, but it's still experimental, so I really wouldn't mess with that one. ^^;
The most basic of all BC pills generally has a cycle of 21-25 days of "normal" pills followed by 7-5 "reminder" pills that contain extra iron for when you're on your period.

I'm almost 17, I've had a regualar period since I was 14. Mine are about 7-11 days and give me killer cramps, so shorter ones would be good. My mom and I have been talking about the pill for a while. What brand did you first try? I'd like to check it out. I don't want the pill to mess with my period too much. I'll ask my docter about it.

The first one was Ortho Tri-cycline, the one I'm on now is Loestrin 24.
They both help immensely with my cramps, to be honest. Mine used to be debilitating, which is what made my doctor suspect I might be showing signs of endometriosis. She found no cysts, but since my mom and several other women on her side of the family had it when they were young, she figured it was better safe than sorry.
