Speaking of hybrid cars, Forbes Auto has a article on the new kits that turns regular gas cars into plug-in hybrids.
http://www.forbesautos.com/news/features/2008/plug-in-electric-vehicles-story.html
If it becomes affordable soon I could get it on my cars.
Chibi: Fuel is astronomical elsewhere in the world... we're just beginning to see the lower end of the prices that Europeans are paying for liters of gas. I heard that the equivalent of the amount in gas we pay $4 for is going for almost $10.

So.... I will be leasing/buying a new car by probably next weekend. I've been using my parents' car, and now my brother needs a car so he gets the old family car and I get to get a new one. Goodie!!! It is kinda neat, but pretty stressful. I'm not quite sure what I can afford yet. But the Toyota Yaris looks pretty cute, with pretty high fuel efficiency. I wish I could get a hybrid but I don't think I can afford that. Poo. We'll see.
Gas here is ranging from $4.18-$4.39 I think.

In the long run, it might actually be cheaper to buy a hybrid with gas prices as high as they are. I am going to try to get a scooter. I don't need a whole car to get around. If I could, I would buy a smart car. Those things are so cool! whee (not to mention that you can park in tiny spaces)

Oh, I know the hybrids would be cheaper in the long run, but I don't have the capital to afford getting one at the moment. I didn't realize there were so many fees with getting a car, beyond the down payment @_____@ mew. I wish I could wait a few more weeks.

Most scooters are better for things like travelling within city limits, short commutes, things like that. Though I will admit, They get great gas milage. Here's a tip. To cut down insurace costs, attend a motorcycle rider's course.

It's officially dropped below 2 dollars. Holy hell, I didn't think it'd get THAT cheap.
It's $1.90 in Springboro, OH.

If you think that's something, I have about six different gas stations within a mile of my house. Chevron, Kangaroo, RaceWay, Jet Pep. Thing is, the Texaco always has their gas priced about 15-20 cents higher than any one else! Then they wonder why they don't get any customers. WTF?

Yeah, it's up to about $2.40-$2.50 where I live. What happened to our temporarily normal prices? gonk I wouldn't mind it so much if I didn't have to drive half and hour to get to school. I can walk to the library and there are some other places that I could theoretically walk to (but I am too lazy), but it would take days to reach campus. I keep saying that I want to move to a place in England where I can walk everywhere. I want to go for the the easy access, but I also want to go because I fell in love with the country when I visited it on choir tour three years ago.
