How can scientists be so sure as to when the world ends.First Y2K,then the date 6/6/06 all supposedly world end dates yet this planet still remains alive.I've been hearing things about a Mayan calender,so people are believing that this planet will die due to a ancient calender?It sounds so stupid and superstitious.If they truely believe the world will end at 2012 then give me something evident.Now there are more theries then the Mayan calender propaganda,there's the alignment of the planets.The theory goes that in 2012 the planets will align in a straight path which is pointing to a black hole.Thus increasing the gravitational pull towards that black hole and our solar system will get sucked into it.If this was to happen who knows what could come out of it.Scientists say black holes can take you to a different place in the cosmos or just split your body and everything else into two pieces over and over again.Honestly I find these theories fun to read like a comic book and they're intresting.But I do beleive this world won't last long reguardless what I say since this economy is going to go into a recession,in America.So if this world is going to end then give us something thats stone proof instead of some ancient calender.

If you are a christian then you should know the bible says that No one. Not even Jesus knows when the end of time will be. There for I seriously dought it is on that date. Maybe the day after though.
Oh and Eyeon3, you say it is stupid and superstitious to belive the world will end on that date because of the Mayan calender. But the thing is every single prediction on the calender has come true. And a black whole suposedly warps you to another black hole somewhere else. But you dont split into two. You just get flatend from every angle until you are either dead or well to put it bluntly as wide as a arm arm hair a realy long arm hair.

I don't believe the world is going to end 12/12/2012...and even if it does, we're all going to die sooner or later anyway, what does it matter? Lots of people guessed when the world would end or some kind of huge disaster would happen, but so far nobody's been right.

If someone were to be able to predict the day the world ends, death to them.
Would you like to live your life scared of that day? I would rather it surprised me. But a chance to live the best of your life before the end would be nice.

Actually Tristen, the bible states that God knows all and is the creator of all. Only God knows when the world will end, and considering the Holy Trinity (Holy Ghost, Jesus, and God) are all one being, saying Jesus wouldn't know is actually false. But, then again, not many people would think of this, so... kudos for bringing Christians into it. :3 Sigh... anyways... my personal belief is that when the world ends, Jesus will come down and take all of his faithful servants (honest, do-gooding Christians) and bring them to Heaven. So, if the world does end on the 12 of December 2012, then I guess that's when it ends. I'm not afraid because I know that if I can stand up for what I believ in, God will accept me and I will be taken to the holy land. Mind you, I'm not trying to tell you how to think or anything, I'm only stating what I believe to be true. Eh.... the black hole theory though... that is actually something that sounds reasonably smart and could actually happen.

It's a bunch of fiddle-faddle nonsense lies. Only god can really say that the world will end and those scientists are a bunch of idiots anyway. If the world ends, IT ENDS.

That's the sillyest thing i ever heard. i think we'd all die because of the extreme force of gravity in a black hole, like most theories about what would happen if a solid object in a black hole haven't been proven and can never be proven until they actually send some one in it.I doubt the black hole theory is likely, we could die from anything, disease, global climate changes, super volcanoes, asteroids, neuclear war, even the extreme effects of Global Warming which i belive is the most likely one be cause the world is so bad today about polluting, so many people drive cars and stuff cause the greenhouse effect, we could end up exactly like Venus if we don't get better about this gobal warming issue.

Pretty much any Christian will tell you that it's fake.
According to the Bible, after the Disappearance, there will be seven years before the true second coming. Therefore, even if the Disappearance occurred right now, in seven years it will be 2015, well past 2012.
As for me, I plan to make a T-Shirt with "I survived the apocalypse, and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt" and wear it on the 13th.

Oh wow, so the Mayans didn't finish their calendar. I wouldn't want to figure out dates and the like for too long either...
I think it's a load of rubbish that people just make up to get attention.

People have been trying to predict the end of times for years. I don't know what they get out of it. This is what I believe.. quoted straight from the Bible:

Since we've got a little Mayan blood in us, my dad is completely interested in the 2012 thing. We believe in it, but not that it will be the end of the world. To explain what he believes would take all day, but we think it'll be a "spiritual advancement" of the human race.

The Offender There are a lot of idea's going around saying that the world will either crash or start to fall on December 21. It all depends on what you want to know, there are many views on this: 1: Religious. 2: Economical 3: National 4: Other, which consists of small things all leading to man-kind destruction. Personally, I don't know many of what is being spoken about and Im curious too, I have heard this idea, but no one will talk to me about it. People have been saying stuff like this before and nothings happened.. When I was younger some man said that Ca was going to fall in the ocean... I was scared and my mom just held me when the time was suppose to and everything is was alright.. If it were the end of the world their wouldnt really be to much we could do about it.. It would happen..I think people use this theory to make people want to change or be afraid..
