You would like Baudelaire. He wrote "The Flowers of Evil." In this collection of poems, he speaks out against the evils that stem from boredom. This is especially apparent in his first poem in this collection. I think that it is called "To the Reader," but I am not positive on this. I miss my lit classes... crying

That would be great! biggrin
By the way, I went ahead and made Malomy a vice captain. I felt uneasy about not having a backup incase something should happen to this account. Think about it. If my account gets hacked or something, then no one would be able to change the master settings. While this is unlikely, I still wanted to be safe just in case. She is a trusted friend who helped me get this second guild off of the ground. I just thought that all of you should be informed about all decisions that go on in this guild.

If rape and poison, dagger and burning, Have still not embroidered their pleasant designs On the banal canvas of our pitiable destinies, It's because our souls, alas, are not bold enough!
...
It's Ennui! His eye brimming with spontaneous tear He dreams of gallows in the haze of his hookah. You know him, reader, this delicate monster, Hypocritical reader, my likeness, my brother!

He is a French writer who has been translated into English. I don't know how easy it would be to find him online, but you could probably find his stuff in an anthology at a bookstore or library. He is the first poet included in a textbook to use the "f word" to my knowledge. He is a very clever fellow. If you still have time, might I also recommend Montaigne? In particular, the essay "Of the inconsistency of our actions." 3nodding

That is about 1/5 of the poem. I will see if I can find the rest for you tomorrow. I can send you a copy of the text. That particular poem is "To the Reader." "To a Carcass" is also worth reading. biggrin It is interesting to note that I read my literature books for pleasure reading.... sweatdrop

okay, lessie..
Name That Tune! : pretty self explanatory
The Alphabet Game: You must post a song beginging with the letter after the first letter of the song before yours. You MUST go in alphabetical order. (Only the song title applies). When you reach the letter Z, the next person begins with A.
Example:
"Person 1 posts: A Storm in the Desert - OC Mix"
"Person 2 posts: Barbie Girl - Aqua"
Three Word Story: Start a sentience. Make it ONLY three words long. The next poster shall continue with another three words, and so and and so forth.
Even if a sentence ends, the next person must start a new one. Keep it going, and don't worry about making sense!
Twisted Wishes: You make a wish.
The next poster grants your wish but adds and unexpected twist and then makes there wish
Rinse, wash, repeat
Example:
I wish I had a PS3
Granted, except that your PS3 doesn't have a memory drive and crashes when you put in your first Game.
I wish I had...
Alphabet Topic Game: Name a topic Example: Movies Then, starting with A and going all the way to Z, name something in that topic starting with that letter Example: A- A Scaner Darkly
Song Title Speak: Here you can only talk in song titles. And they have to be relevant.
CTRL-V: Post the last thing you had copied to your clipboard.
Word Association: put down the first word that comes to mind when someone else says another word, and so on and so forth.
Song and Artist: Someone names a song and then, names the band/artist who plays the song. If it's a musical, just say what musical it's from. To continue you, you have to think of a song that starts with the letter that the artist/band name ends in.
Here's an example:
American Idiot Green Day
Yellow Submarine The Beatles
And that's all I've got right now. :3

Ooo! Those sound like fun! xd I especially like the one about word associations! Would you like to start a thread with one of those games? I think that it is a good idea for everyone to have a thread to run or something. When everyone has a job, everyone feels more attached and a part of the guild. biggrin (the same thing applies to classrooms and students)

Wouldn't it just be the degree of inconsistency and not the inconsistency of inconsistency? By definition, that would be a paradox. 3nodding Thus, the English grammar saves the day!
I too love random and useless information. My favorite magazine is Mental Floss. You should check it out. biggrin
