Uhh...let me think.
Well back when I was in school I got my mum to buy me a few dvd's, that'd be the first 7 of kenshin, a few of Love hina and Soul Taker. I have absolutely no clue so i'll just guess around 2003 - 2004 I got those dvd's.
Whenever Rurouni Kenshin started to be released on dvd's, because I remember that and Orphen were my firsts to own.
I didn't really have much of a collection since my mum was fairly cheap, I'd be lucky to get a dvd a month x-x. When I got a job in 2005 I think it was is when I really started to buy dvd's, since I could earn my own money I could buy whatever I wanted, took me years to finish RK since its release. ._.
Ever since 2006 I've held back from buying things as much for the things I mostly really want such as Code Geass and Higurashi. cool

I've gotta say, I'm impressed! You must be a dedicated fan to put that much effort into your collection :3 It shows all the theiving cheap arses out there that you can have a great collection if you work hard ^^ I feel embarassed to call myself an anime/manga fan, you're on a totally different level XD Hehe

Well I've recently sold a lot of my stuff to make room for more! I can't be bothered to re-count sooo here are the estimates:
