thestarthatshines I didn't know that. Fascinating. I believe he's also an environmentalist. All his ideas are in his work. Ever noticed how his protagonists are usually strong-minded women? Plus, it only takes a glimpse of Mononoke Hime to see his thoughts of the environment. He seems like such a romantic guy <3

-x- And so I cry...the light is white...and I see you... I adore his movies. heart They have such unique stories and lovely art. Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and Howl's Moving Castle are my favorites. The next movie I buy will be My Neighbor Totoro; I've seen it before with my friend, but I don't remember much. :/ -x-...I'm alive.-x-

I watched Spirited Away a lot and I really liked Howl's Moving Castle. I liked Princess Mononoke, I read My Neighbor Totoro but I could only follow it a little bit.

As far as the manga for his movies, I've only read Nausicaa. But I actually liked it a lot better than the movie - there was so much more to it.

I flicked through the manga of Howl's Moving Caste when I saw it in Blackwells, but I wasn't that impressed. Obviously, the art work is beautiful, but the entire book is a collection of stills from the film with the script in speech bubbles. You might as well just watch the film instead (^^;; )
