Sailor Jerry Okay, tis always good to be on the same side :3 I was just confused as to why the complex/fetish was brought up in the first place. This is a fashion forum, and the two really aren't related. Clothes can be a fetish too. Also that the word Lolita is a very BIG fetish About underaged girls. That's all. and now i'm being accused of not knowing what Lolita (fashion) is.

Apparently we're supposed to feel sexy in our outfits to feel good.

The Lolita Handbook is in the middle of being re-vamped, if you didn't notice. And "sexy" is not the word for Lolita fashion, obviously. Otherwise the conversation wouldn't have gotten serious.

No one is denying that a fetish for sexually promiscuous adolescent girls is refered to as a Lolita Complex.
But that's the western definition. The fashion is the eastern definition. That's why they're such seperate entities. The simply aren't connected.

We're talking about the Fashion. Not whatever else you're talking about. And no, it's really not important. That's why it's getting removed.

The reason most people resist having lolita fashion linked with lolita fetish/complex and the like is because it links them to ***** and less-than-pleasant connotations in the west. Really, really not pleasant. I mean, even in Japan "loli-con" is about having sex with little girls, not sex with girls wearing lolita. There is lolita porn, sure, but it usually goes under the cosplay sex section from what I've seen, which is much less weirder than the almost-***** section. Anyway.
It's also not a straight thing, either. It doesn't go across the board saying all lolitas find their clothes to be non-sexy, just like it doesn't go across the board saying all lolitas find their clothes sexy. I don't. Most that I talk to don't. My boyfriend doesn't. My mom does. It depends on who you ask and what they have been introduced to as to the term.
To be honest, this discussion is getting really stupid, though. =/ So let's end it and agree to disagree:
muninn feels sexy in her lolita. Amani, Jerry and I don't. There we go.
... now back to the White Peacock and all that horrid lace ... <_<

-...quand le soleil sera couché dans ton âme froide.- I agree with Amani, the Lolita Handbook is being revamped and even though it was good before now it will be more concise and clear. Hopefully now people like you won't interpret Lolita into whatever you deem is what you "read" from somewhere. Like I said before, for someone opening their own Lolita line you speak like you have no knowledge of Lolita what so ever. I pity the poor soul that buys from someone who states that they wear Lolita old school as in short skirts. FYI Lolita never incorporates short skirts unless it's in Ero-Lolita so ya good look with that one.

Lolita is a fetish, huh? rofl
I suppose I'll just throw on my best btssb garments and go work the corner then? That'll rake in some cash. biggrin biggrin
Okay, seriously now.
Lolita isn't a fetish. It's a fashion. A FASHION. FASSSSHIIIIOOOOON. Now let that echo in the little nut on your neck for awhile. Lolita was a term coined YEARRRRRRRRRRS back before Humbert was even fantasizing about Dolores. Mkay? Lolita is a fashion just like any other fashion. Lolita is a book by some Russian man. Lolita the book is a fetish. Lolita the fashion is not.
