Hi, my name's Kate, and I'm new to this guild. I currently have 3 cats, though you never know when this may change because I'm always getting new cats. All my cats are strays except one, so my home is like a huge animal rescue center. And that's the reason I'm always getting new cats. Whenever my parents see a stray somewhere, they take it home. Ok, enough ranting, time to talk about my kitties! Some of them have stupid names, but that's what happens when you have little brothers that always get to name them because they're younger than you.
Dipper Dipper is one of the few cats that is not a stray. He is black and white with markings on either side of his nose that make it look like he has a moustache. I got him from my neighbor, Hannah, who was giving away free kittens. Since then, Dipper has had a rough life. First, my little brother Luke (who was 4 years old at the time) broke his back in eight places and since then he's always walked on his toes and lost his kittenlike playfulness because his injury prevented him from playing. Recently he got hit by a car, and now one of his back legs is broken and dislocated. The vet says he will never walk normally again. And he got neutured Monday, which was a complete waste of money because he has never sprayed in the house and he is not wild and tomcat-ish. The poor thing was scared to death too.
Rainy Rainy is a cat that my dad found at work one day. My dad is a builder, and Rainy was found in the lumber pile, mewing for its mother. My dad put him in a shoebox and took him home. We had to bottle feed him because he didn't even have his eyes open yet! He is completely grey with a whiteish tinge around the muzzle and paws. He's the reason all the inside cats had to get fixed. He kept spraying the windows and thankfully the operation has stopped him from doing that, but he still pees in the house when he's mad at us for not letting him outside.
Fletcher Fletcher is the sweetest cat the the whole wide world! At least, in my opinion she is. She is an orange tabby with white paws and a white stripe down her nose. She will take care of any kitten she finds and comes up to complete strangers and starts rubbing all over them. She was a foster mother to Rainy when he first came to our home. She couldn't give him milk, but she'd lick his rear end and carry him around.

Hi! My name is Swizzkitten, you may call me Swizz. I actually use this name in memory of my sweet Swizzle Anne, a beautiful Bengal rescue I lost to lymphoma almost 2 years ago. Now for my current kitties:
Mr. Marble is 8 years old. He is a Maine Coon mix feral rescue (I don't know why he was outside, such a beauty..mostly white with brown, black and orange patches, very long, fluffy fur.) I caught him at about 3 months old. Took awhile to tame him down, he was so scared of everything! (I already had 3 other cats at the time, they were fine with him). At 22 lbs, he is my "Gentle Giant" He loves his naps, his Momma and "his" Baby Hope. No matter what time I get home from work at night I see his big furry sweet face in the front window waiting for me smile . He will cuddle but gets too warm due to his fur, usually sleeps on my feet.
Hope Elizabeth (aka Baby Hope, aka The Boss, aka Cookies, aka Hoper). A bottle fed baby, she is a real Momma's girl. Solid black short hair only weighs about 8 pounds, but is the true "boss" or alpha cat of the house. She has the most beautiful huge round golden eyes I have ever seen. She will stare right at you and I swear she understands everything I am saying. She insists on having a chair next to mine while I am on the PC and will watch for hours. She loves to cuddle and usually sleeps on my legs. She also loves her Mr Marble, you can find them cuddling and grooming each other at least once a day..so sweet. smile TJ (aka Thomas Jack, aka Terror Kitten, aka Stop it!!). 1 year old Bengal rescue mix attack kitty. Lol, actually he's calmed down quite a bit. A real lover is always on my lap or sleeping on my head. I got TJ from a shelter originally looking for a female Bengal, but he mewed and mewed and patted me with his little paw thru the cage..well, you all know how it is, they always pick us! He loves to wrestle with Mr Marble, tries to wrestle with Hope and gets a good smack (from her) for it. She likes him fine as long as he's not attacking lol. He loves water ( a Bengal trait) and drinks out of the bathroom sink alot. He will jump in the shower once in awhile, but doesn't stay long.
I don't know what I would do without my furry little family, and it's nice to meet others here who feel the same smile I'll post some pics soon..

My name is Cheri, i'm 16, and I currently am allowed to be in the prescence of 5 cats who live in my home. Now i'll tell you about my kitties! Chelow- She's about 8 years old, I got her as a gift when I moved where i'm currently living. She's my little princess. She is mixed color, and has a white patch of fur in the shape of a heart on her back Bagget- He was named after his Father, who was catnapped. Looks exactly like him. He is about 4 years old now. Cheeto- She's Bagget's sister, she's pudgy, and she's a calico cat. Trouble- She is Cheeto's twin, well kind of. Hot Dog- He is a sly little kitty, he's insane, lives in a barn in the summer because he thinks he's too good for us, and in the winter he mooches off of us. <3 He's Bagget's brother. I also have one other cat that I claim as my own, who lives with my sister in California. His name is Braveheart, he is also 8 years old, and he is black and white, with a patch of fur shaped like a heart.

Wow, it seems like the whole site mod staff are cat nuts! WOO HOO!!! mrgreen
Anyway, my name is Stella and I'm a Cat-holic. I have six of them currently. I'm also a married "elder" Gaian which makes some of the story below make more sense. I'll post the first three in one post and the second batch after that, but here they are, my lemurs pirate :
Pebbles: She's almost 15 and a purebred Ocicat. She's shades of gray and buff w/ dk gray spots and lavender nose and paw pads. We got her from a rescue organization 11 years ago. They got her from Death Row at a shelter, even though she had CFA papers and everything. Pebbles was the name she was given at birth. We had to be *interviewed* and filled out an application because there were about six or seven people who wanted her. Anyway, she's very loving and high strung. She is somewhat abnormally attached to me, although she's very friendly and forward and demands love and attention. She's been sick for a while, but she's way too stubborn to kick off just yet. If Pebbles had a job, it would be: Diva. dramallama
Sisko: He's 10 and came home with us from a pet store at 6 weeks. I swear, I just went to pick up food for Pebbles. But we knew that Pebbles needed another cat to keep her company when no one was home and Sisko decided it was HIM!! He is a black-and-white Tuxedo cat, and is named for Capt. Sisko of Deep Space Nine, my favorite Trek show. When he was a kitten, he was a couple of pipecleaners twisted together, with big ears, and a nonstop bundle of energy. He literally climbed the walls. At some point, his fur got long (he's half Maine Coon) and he turned slinky and evil. But he's still loving to humans. Mostly. If Sisko had a job, it would be: Assassin, spy ninja
Spooky: Age unknown, est. between 14-16 years by the vet. Spooky took up residence on our back patio where the garbage was kept. One night, while watching the X-Files with all the lights out (lol), I looked outside and saw two green glowing eyeballs at the patio screen door and it scared me to death (he's also almost solid black). Hence, "Spooky" for being scary and Spooky Mulder. So we decided to start feeding him outside to keep him from eating garbage and killing the neighborhood wild bunnies. He was very thin and losing his hair, though, and one day a tornado passed through the 'hood, so I decided it was time to make it official and bring him inside. I took him to the vet. He was very thin and had large patches of no hair and still weighed 12 pounds!! So he is our Big Old Fat Cat, although he's not fat at all. He has three layers of fur. He's probably at least part Persian, given his build, coat and face structure (not flat, but not pointy). He's solid black, except for a few white hairs at his neck and a belly patch. He craves and demands lots of attention and cuddling. We've had him over 9 years. He's still nominally the Alpha Cat, but that's changing. If Spooky had a job, it would be: Mob boss, corporate CEO cool

Spike: 5 years old. While we were still living in the 'burbs, friends of ours lived in the hood. As in, Detroit, notorious for its feral dogs and cats. Our friends had had a cat for many years and when she died, their little daughter was distraught. At that time, there were about 2 dozen strays living around them. So they took in a gorgeous orange tabby and named her Amber. Six weeks later, Amber gave them four new cats!! Wasn't that sweet of her??? So they kept her and her clone son, Garfield (the resemblance is uncanny, too). Two of the other kittens got homes with friends, but we already had 3 and my hubby said we shouldn't take in anymore. So they kept the 4th kitten for a while, but with two cats and two large dogs, they couldn't handle a 3rd cat. He was on his way to the shelter on Friday...so on Thursday, we got a 4th cat!! Their daughter didn't like him because he talked too much, but we find his chattiness adorable. Spike does not like to be held, but he's otherwise friendly. He's named for Spike the Vampire from BTVS. He's orange and white and is a poster child for Long Cat is Long. If Spike had a job, it would be: Radio talk show host. cheese_whine
Possum: Almost 7. Shortly after we got Spike, I lost my job and long story short, we ended up living next door to our friends who gave him to us. The day we came to check out the house, Possum came running from under the porch of an empty house. She's a blue-cream torti and white cat, and looked a lot like a cat I'd had for many years as a kid. Eventually, I ended up taking her in. She was the last of the feral cats left on the street. All the rest had been taken to the shelter or adopted, but everyone loved Possum and so couldn't bear to take her to the shelter. But she was frequently sick, had been knocked up a lot (one former neighbor used to take up her kittens and kill them, the b*****d, glad he got kicked out of the house!!!) and would not have survived the winter. And reading Anlina's description of her blue cream torti, I had to laugh because Possum is the same way. She got named Possum by the neighborhood kids because her face is tan and kinda blown out looking, with yellow/green eyes and she looks and acts like a possum -- very sassy. She was also very thin when we took her in but she *filled out* a lot after we got her spayed. She's lost weight since, and is just slightly plumpy in the winter. We call her Emo Possum because she's moody and when she's moody, you know it! But she's also very affectionate to people and has even learned to talk some. If Possum had a job, she'd be: The bitchy school principal in a teen angst horror flick evil
Pocky: Almost 2. Pocky was born in a barn at a friend's place up in the BFE of Michigan. The barn came with several dozen resident cats, all quite wild. My friend took some inside and got some of the other females spayed, but it was very expensive and took a while. Pocky's mother took her litter and placed them in the horse stalls of the barn (w/ horses in them) and abandoned them, so Pocky was raised by hand. But my friend was overwhelmed with too many litters at once, and was getting ready to take 10 kittens from 3 litters to area shelters (she made large donations to the shelters not to just kill them outright, but in the BFE, everybody has feral/wild cats on their property, so no one really adopts MOAR cats). Anyway, I went to visit her and came home with Pocky. She was just too cute to risk having her get put to sleep. crying She was a runt, torti and white -- she's black with tan spots and white neck and paws. She was so energetic, she made baby Sisko seem lazy. She's calmed down some, but now she's bigger and doesn't seem to realize that she bothers all the others by, you know, jumping on them from behind the furniture when they're coming out from where the litter boxes are. Her chief love in life is chasing bottle caps. They MUST be from 20 oz. plastic drink bottles and she prefers them to be blue or green, thank you very much. She went from being too underweight to get spayed at 6 months (we had to waite 2 months and one very loooong heat cycle, oy vey! stressed ) to being downright fat. So she's on a diet now. But she's the most active and energetic cat still. We toss a bottle cap into the bath tub and she'll chase it around for a half hour or more. She also loves to chase a cap under our bedroom door and wait for us to kick it back. We call this Pocky Hockey. If Pocky had a job, it'd be: Pudgy girl's hs gym teacher. They'd play lots of soccer and field hockey. 4laugh
ps: Pocky's mother did the baby abandoning thing a second time, and one of those kitties was adopted by some other friends. His name is Thom Kun, which is my badly spelled version of Mongolian for "big wolf" because he had black/gray fur as a kitten. He's all black now and still very wild.

Adopt a cat... .............................................. Hi, everyone! Well... I'm Akabi, and I've lived surrounded by cats my whole life, even if now I've just moved to Canada and unfortunely I live in a flat where pets are forbidden... I have a terrible abstinence syndrome! crying But in the past, I've had some adorable cats, like my Marius Mapache... he's such a cutie! When I lived with my best friend she found him near her office... he's the only cat I've known that actually comes when you call him! He's very smart, and he adores his plushie mice 3nodding Then, there's Kirie, she's a tiny calico kitty, and Mapache's best friend 3nodding They play together a lot, and they both adore to eat dried seaweed rofl They now live with my friend's parents. My own parents have the lazyest cat I've known, my adorable Engendro... she's fat, bulky and friendly, but sometimes she's so sleepy, that she meows with her tiny mouth closed! She also loves to sleep with my mom huging her below the blankets whee I think they are the cats I love the most... and I'd love to have a lovely b*****d for me here, but I'm still not sure if I'm gonna stay in Canada for long, and I don't want to have a cat just to take him all over the world, so I'm waiting for a stable moment in my life to adopt one 3nodding ..............................................
...there's nothing better for a cold winter night.

My cat is Sophie, a lovely calico, she's about 8-9 years old and ma' baby X3 She loves to drink from the faucet and scratch my feet (when I'm wearing socks) She also likes it when I soak a paper towel and pass it over her back xD
And her sense of smell is almost non-existant and she can't pee in the litter to save her life... But it's okay, we have lots of old newspapers around to clean up the pee :3
Umm, I'm Carolina and I'm usually the only one in my house who pays her attention: I feed her, bathe her, brush her hair, play with her, and allow myself to be her scratching post :3
She's ma lovely and I'd do almost anything for her X3

Hi! My name's Akiko!
I currently have no kitties living with me due to restraints from my apartment manager (I'm working on finding a place where I can have kitties...and candles). But at home I have five.
Baby, who's a big, white, male cat. He's so pretty. I did not name him that intentionally. It's all he answers to (yes, he comes when you call him!). He's the loviest cat in the world, and unfortunately the drooliest. Lulu, a very large, extremely fluffy muted calico. She gets bigger and fluffier every time I see her. she's a little shy but SO cute. Jack, an orange tabby, Lulu's Nephew (unfortunately his mother recently died. Her name was Will, she was Lulu's sister), he loves to be held. Clark (From Jack's mum's second litter), or Clarky, a kitten of unknown gender who loves attention, and is white with grey tabby patches. And Nathaniel, or Natty, Clarky's brother, who doesn't love attention quite as much, he's white with orange tabby patches.
I love my mutt kitties and I can't wait to have one of my own X3 I'm going to adopt, though. :3 Probably a slightly older cat who's box trained.

Thank you very much for accepting me into the guild. :3 My kitty and I are excited. Well, I am, and the cat is sitting on the monitor, pawing the screen, so I will pretend that she is excited.
My real name is Courtney, but most people just call me Tsuki. I have had this username or variations on it for a long time. I am a kinder and pre-k teacher and currently live alone with my baby mewmew.
I call her a baby, but Elphie is just a little shy of a year. I adopted her from another man who had rescued her when she was a small kitten. She had been hit by a car and suffered a broken back leg - the left one to be precise. He nursed her to health but was not sure if he wanted to keep her. He, being a friend of my mom, offered to give her to me. So, I said yes, of course. :3 My old kitty lives with my mom, so I am lonely without a snuggly buddy of my own.
Anyway, Elphie is a tortie, and is mostly black and dark brown with caramel and tan patches on her coat. She's pretty long and slender, especially her tail and head. She is VERY rambunctious and loves to get into places she knows she is not allowed, but she is also very loving. She likes sitting on shoulders, which is not a bad thing it itself, but her balance is not so good, so she ends up clawing your shoulders trying to stay in place. ^__^; Because of the accident she had when she was a kitten, her back leg turns out. My mom and I call her a little ballerina. She does not seem to have too many troubles with that leg, though some times she favors the other when jumping.
My other fuzzy friend, whom lives with my mom, is named Fluffy. XD She is totally fluffy! She's about 5 years old and loves to be pet, but not held. She also loves being outside. Elphie, on the other hand, is not allowed outside. XD
I didn't mean to wall-o-text you guys on my first post. =D Anyway, thanks again for accepting me! <33

Hi! I'm called the Hare and I received an invite because of my good friend Akiko... and I am a proud owner of two cats - Octavian, age 3 years, and Snoop, age 13 years.
Octavian lives with me, my sister, and our crazy green-cheeked conure, Nero. Snoop has retired to our parents' house, where he dwells in the lap of luxury as he is the only pet they have. Ockie is a spoiled brat and has more toys than most children, as well as full-run of the house. Snoop is also spoiled and has full-walk of the house. Ockie's a gorgeous dark tabby who may have some Bengal in him; Snoop is a pure black cat who may have some Siamese in him (he's mother yowled in a way I have only ever heard coming from a Siamese). Snoop also drools if you pet him long enough and loves his belly rubbed, something that Ockie would literally rip our arm to sheds if you attempted it... Snoop also has a love for being pet from tail to head and is still in fantastic shape, despite his age. Ockie has a love for sweet things and is on medication for an anxiety disorder.
As for myself, I'm a college student studying Physics who likes cats, plays videogames, reads entirely too much, enjoys watching anime, and plays disc golf when there isn't a foot of snow on the ground... I also draw and write fiction.

Thank you very much for accepting my membership request. :3 I suppose this is the best place to start out. I expect this will be long and unreadable, but here it is.
Myself? Not terribly interesting. I am a veterinarian working in a small animal (dog and cat exclusive) private practice in a small city in Colorado. I am not married and do not wish to have any children of the bipedal kind. I've been practicing as a veterinarian for a little over 2 years now; I worked as an assistant/tech for 5 years before that. I am long-winded, as you are likely surmising from this post. I have a dog, Genrou, and two cats, Javert and Daae, both of whom live strictly indoors.
Javert is my eldest cat and the first cat I ever owned; he'll be 6 years old this summer. He came to me while I was working as a surgery nurse at Colorado State's veterinary teaching school. A family had dumped him as a 3 week old kitten with a fractured femur. As I am a sucker, I immediately took him home and thus began my love affair with cats. He is named for Victor Hugo's fictional detective, though he bears relatively little resemblance to the man of rigid moral principles; he is an incorrigible scoundrel. He lives up to his name only in his dogged and unrelenting pursuit of spiders and crickets. Beyond that, he more closely resembles the Cowardly Lion - a proud bully who struts about the home with a clear air of superiority, then bolts and hides under the furnishings at the first sudden movement or loud noise. He is a consummate narcissist and enjoys eating, napping, strutting, gazing at himself for hours in the mirror, preening, glaring imperiously at lesser beings, and eating.
Fortunately for him, he is gorgeous and I am hard put to discourage his self-worship. Were his mum not so strict with his food, he would be a connoisseur of all things edible. Of all the cats I've owned, he is most definitely the most cat of them all. He is careful yet casual and entirely graceful; should he fall or stumble, he will insist that you realize it was quite intentional, he meant to do that, and you should keep your nose out of his affairs. Although he may come running when you call, he would like you to be aware that it was purely coincidence and he really doesn't care whether or not you wanted him. He has no interest in your company and if he happens to follow you from room to room, he will not look at you and he will have you remember that he was going there anyway. If he is petted, it is purely on his own terms. He is my darling and he tolerates my constant affections with thinly disguised disdain.
Daae is my little girl and my eternal kitten, though she's 2 years old now. She is the opposite of Javert in most ways. She is attentive, eager, silly, and above all, affectionate. I met her first as a patient at the clinic where I work. She was brought in by her foster-mum after her cat-mother had died from panleukopenia. All the other kittens in her litter died, but she was not one to give up so easily. I had not planned on getting another cat at that time and so after she left our care, she went back to the shelter. Unfortunately, only one family showed interest in her and the shelter was afraid to send her to a family that had never owned any cat before, due to her special needs. As a consequence of her neonatal infection with panleukopenia, she has cerebellar hypoplasia -- an undergrowth of the cerebellum, the portion of the brain which allows one to regulate conscious movements. She is also quite deaf. In the end, the sucker in me rose to the occasion and I took her home; I have not regretted it since. She is a delightful little cat with the sunniest disposition imaginable. She has adjusted very well to her disabilities. She still can't jump very high and needs a little assistance making it into my lap. We've had to eschew a frame for my bed so that she can make it up, purchase a home without any treacherous stairwells down which she might fall, and worked with visual cues and hand signals; watching her trundle happily through the house has made every bit of it worthwhile. Due to her hearing impairment, she has an exceedingly loud meow, which resulted in her being named for the fictional opera singer, Christine Daae, of Phantom of the Opera fame. She is the very definition of precious.
In the case that I mention him, I also had another cat, before Daae. He was Finn and he was a magnificent cat. Unfortunately, he was also a very unhealthy cat. He was very much like Daae in his personality and I find that I am not the least bit over his loss.
Not a cat, but I also must introduce Genrou; were his paws capable of typing, I'm quite positive that he would create himself a Gaia account just to join this guild. He's my original baby, a Border Collie/Chow/Goodness-Knows-What mix that joined my life the summer after my first year of college. He was in a large part responsible for my acquisition of a cat in the first place. He loves cats dearly, a matter which I discovered after we left our apartment door open for a little air and a cat wandered into the home. Genrou was in love. Alas, the cat was not, and scratched him across the nose. Unphased, he continued in his attempts to woo this cat for the duration of our time in that apartment. I am sad to report that he got nowhere. He was, however, appeased when I brought home Javert. Genrou seem to be of the mind that cats are simply very small, bad-tempered sheep and it is his born duty to love, coddle, lick, protect and occasionally herd them. Especially the licking. Any cat who crosses his path is likely to depart with a rather well-groomed, damp forehead. He is very attentive to his cats and is the first to let me know when something is going on with either of them. He also does his best to police the two of them and break up any scuffles they might have, although this usually results in him fleeing before Javert's kitty-wrath. He also, albeit unwillingly, provides the cats with their favourite toy of all in the form of his plumed, wagging tail. He would like to say hello to everyone, and if you feel that your cats' heads are too dry, he will be glad to offer his assistance.
Longest. Post. Evar. gonk Can you tell I like to talk about my pets?
