I should have gotten a copy way back when but I didnt, foolish of me. Im impressed you found a copy in 2004, I couldnt find a copy around here by 2003, when I finished college. 3nodding

You and I have the same issue with their new game handleing rofl MOST of the time I just show up at the counter and say what I want and they have to grab a sealed version. There arnt many places near me where I can get the games so I have to settle for EB most of the time.

Ok, well that would be cool, I didnt really follow up on the PS3 / Linux stuff because I didnt plan on ever doing anything with it. That would be cool, so they could do some really nice stuff with it beyond its current limits with less power.

I don't think that any company has really made good use of the PSP / PS3 connection, there was supposed ot be some in the F1 racing game that came out for it. I think the whole PSP and PS3 features are still developing so its hard to expect perfection from the get go.

Ive done my fair share of jobs where you were treated like crap, try working at a Wendy's, for all the work you do, you would think a thank you could come out of the bloody customers mouth once or twice. stare
I figured that with my work experience at a Wendy's, a factory (P&G) and the fact I worked for a city for a bit, Id be a shoe in for EB games. I am used to dealing with things that are new to me, people, everything. I also am used to 12 hour work days.. now thats alot of fun right there lol

I was just at EB about a week ago for Hellgate London and Rachet and Clank Future (I love these games). Ive not been there so much lately because I have to hold off on buying games until I get another job.

Yeah, I didn't get Final Fantasy Chronicles, and Final Fantasy Tactics when I could have.

Over by the Gamestop theres a Target so I could always go there if I wanted. And if I wanted to go on some crazy street theres a Circuit City, two gamestops *across the street from each other* Best Buy, Target, and some other stuff. And my Dads work is by a Wal Mart and EB Games, so if I can't find it I can always ask him to check after work.

It's so so IMO. I don't use it, but I think it's one of those things that work if I like want to watch TV and listen to music off my PS3. Besides that I don't really see too much for it.
I never got any of the PSone FF re-releases, my brother did, and now I kick myself for it. I have the first FF though on PSP, i was never a big fan of FF II, but I might get the PSP version of it. Tactics was great, I really enjoyed it, and I am enjoying the PSP remake of it.

The EB in the town I live near it right beside Wal-mart but they tend to have a horrible selection of games, with only some of the total available games there. If I dont mind a 45 min drive I can hit an 2 other EB's, a Futureshope, and a Best Buy, but I keep travel down to a minium, as its no fun to drive for a while along 3nodding

I might use it for that, IF I had a better set up for my TV then I do for my PC, but I have 5.1 on my PC so no music is on the PS3. Maybe, its all part of the "Grand plan of Shen" to have a kick a** HD LCD (or the newer tech coming out), and a great audio system for my pure gaming joy blaugh If I could only find that pot of gold ninja
I think if developers start to use the PSP more it would improve things, however, if you dont have your house set up right, it wont work, since the PSP doesnt have a blue tooth set up.

Those are the only ones I miss. Besides that I have most of the PS FF games. I do own FF1 on the PSP *sony gave me that* I want FFT, and FF2 for it.

lol the EB games by my house is also right next to a wal mart.

Doesn't the PSP hook up like... WiFi like but the PS3 gives off the WiFi or something. I know it's possible to use a router to do remote play, but when I do it I pick the my PS3s info from the wireless set up thing. XD They could do stuff with it, I know that what it a GT game that showed how it would work. Sounds like the GBA to GC thing to me, which really wasn't popular outside Nintendo.
That must have been nice to get, I would have loved having it given to me 3nodding
Tactics is so worth it, I love the game, the cut scenes alll are just supurb, im not sold on FF 2 however, it was never one of my fav FF games, I might however, just to have it.

The whole reason the EB for me ended up where it did is a bit of a long story, where they were going to set up, raised the rent before renovations began, so EB said no way, and waited to go into a 4 store, strip mall type building in what is now concidered the Power Center because of the Great Canadian Super Store (massive grocery store), Marks Workwearhous and Wal-mart, pluse more is going in all the time.

It does use wifi, but you need to have the place set up for it, and I never bothered, since I cant get more then dial-up right now. sweatdrop

I own that FF1 and FF2 game for the PSone, but the PSP ones are just better, though I do plan to play them just to see what all is different.

I thought the PSP sent a wifi signal to the PS3 and the PS3 would send one back. Like a wireless hub thing.

I dont think I ever played a DOA game, I do know that so far, the game with the hardest AI I have played is Virtua Fighter 5.. I loose often.

My opinion of him dropped when he sided with the 360, over the PS3, because he litterally broke his whole reasoning for not using the PS2. When it comes right down to it, the PS3 is smoking hot with potential power he could draw on. Its good to see that some of the team have feeligs to the PS3, but I some how doubt that would even have the slightest effect on his ego or him. A pitty really, but he will likely get a reality check sometime or another, likely when you see a new game come out on the PS3 that puts his DOA series to shame. Of course, a massive Ego is really hard to give a smack down too.

Its only a matter of time before he does something on the PS3, as for not finding one, I find that hard to believe, Japan is one area Sony would never let get under sold, you would have a harder time getting a Wii there. Things will change, I have no doubt about it.

You know, thinking about what you said about looking up to him, I recall the first time I saw him, after he went exclusive to the xbox, I was really impressed but as I saw the interview, I was questioning just what type of person he was and I really didnt find any big draw to him. Now I just find him hypocritical and I am really critical on people that go back on their promises/standards. 3nodding

I thought VF5s AI was so so, not hard but not easy. I have trouble with Tekken a lot XD I can't use every single character in the except for a couple XD

The director for NGS *can't think of his name right now* is supposed to be his protege or something. And I think he's the one who will be doing PS3 games. I can't say I'm too overly tick that a lot of his games are coming to the 360, I like to own all the consoles and I need a games/reason to get a 360. But speaking of VF5, atleast he isn't as bad as AM2 was with VF5 console version! They changed their mind ALL the time about the game and lied about half of it. Atleast he sticks to the 360, and sees something to it. But I really wanted to see his stuff spread out more to see what he could do.

PS3s were hard to find but not for long. I was able to find them in Jan. I know that you can find them in Japan. I don't know if he has one or hasn't found one yet. He hasn't said anything, or has anyone asked.

It was mostly game standards that drew me to him. NOT life style.
The only fighter I can really use a majority of the characters in is Mortal Kombat, in most others, including Soul Calibur, I have to stick to the faster female characters, else my butt is handed to me in about 10 seconds gonk

For VF5, I really didn't hear any of the comments about it, I just saw it at EB and figured why not. However, I will be picking up Tekken, why I dont know, but Im sure it will be fun. I have to say of late I have been lax following gaming news and announcments, but its hard for me, because most news is on pretty web sites that love to use flash or have 1001 things on each page and that is just evil for dial-up 3nodding How I miss highspeed net. I also tend to take everything a developer says about their game with a grain of salt, they rarely supply exactly what they say they will.

I got my PS3 in Jan, I walked past it the entire part of the previous year when it had come out, when I did see one, which was rare, and then in Jan I thought "My job ends in March.. screw it!" and bought the system when I saw it in at Wal-Mart. They double bagged it because apparently it was attracting too much attention even in a small place like where I am. 3nodding Frankly right now in most areas, if you dont have a PS3, its by choice. I wonder what he would say if you stood right infront of a display with PS3's and asked him if he had one yet.

High standards are nice, but its when you declare things like the xbox being the only system powerful enough to get what he wanted, and then having a more powerful system and him staying with a lesser system in terms of power.

I'm really looking forward to Tekken 6. It's shapping up to be something, can't wait to see what it can do like at an arcade if we get it.

I got mine in March when I started my job, or well after training. I got the last PS3 at Best Buy or well the last one they had on display. The people there was so nice.

I'm starting to wonder how long he'll stay with it. I mean I've notice 1up ALWAYS asks him if he's going to do PSP, so many sites ask him. Be I'm guessing that you can't really get into a huge heap with him, cause you might end up loosing him for interviews. BUT fan asking...
I actually have not seen any coverage on Tekken 6, I have not actually played a Tekken game in a long time, however, when I heard about it, I was excited about it and jumped at the game. Im sure I wont be all that good and will loose to many but I play fighters for fun. I dont care who beats me, of course, I likely wont have anyone to play against sweatdrop

The person at Wal-mart was younger, teen, so atleast 16, he didnt say anything because I think he realized if I was buying one, there is no way to sell my on another consol. Infact I spoke to about 3 other customers while deciding if I should get it (took me about an hour and half, I think things through), and I figured why the hell not, I didnt once think "did I do the right thing?" after I bought it.

I have a feeling that he will crack in time, but it will take just that, time. His ego wont let him do it in the near future. As for the questions, he can never avoid them, he will be forever cursed with them, until he does a PSP game or a PS3 game. He excepted that fate, when he decided to go and stop being excluisve but avoid Sony.

I planed my PS3 purchase, and woke up to get to Best Buy right when they opened. THOUGH because I did own DOA4, and I thought I would be at that call center for a while the thought of a 360 came around for a bit.

I wouldn't mind if he kept DOA on the 360. Only because it balances fighting games out. Tekken is on the PS, DOA XBOX, and SSB on Nintendo. Well thats a brawler... I just wanted to see his work more spread out rather then put on one thing.
true enough, each system has its own strong fighter franchise, and many share fanchises as well, such as MK, and Soul Cal.

I think he could do evolutionary, not just revolutionary things, but evolutionary things if he did open up some of his work to the PS3 as well. I do admit, he really smashed the barrier when he went with the xbox for DOA. Although some of the features many male reviewers bragged about, were actually on the Dreamcast.. 3nodding

I nearly got FF2 on the PSP today when I finally got to pick up my copy of Assassins Creed, my EB had issues getting it on time. They started to change how they answered the phones to "EB Games, Assassins Creed is in today, how may we help you?" rofl
Im still tempted, I never liked the game much but its hard to not buy it for me.

I dont know, I thought you had to have the PSP activate it via a in home network.

@Tokyo Pop, yes we are talking about the remote play and the ability to turn on your PS3 and such via the PSP

3nodding

Maybe he just doesn't get PS3s hardware or programing or something confused

Of course, DOA2 was a HUGE LEAP from DOA. In EVERY sence from character design, to the fighting engine, to layout, etc.

I mean it's not like other fighting game sequels where you get a few tweaks here and there. Since then DOA3, and 4 have pretty much been the same. With few tweaks.

@Tokyo Pop, yes we are talking about the remote play and the ability to turn on your PS3 and such via the PSP

lol, speaking of EB games... read kotaku? One of the people that wrote had a interesting convo with a GS guy:

"So I am at Target last night, buying one of about fifty copies of Assassin's Creed they had there after a GameStop employee with a s**t-eating grin told me I should have preordered"

I think I'll put this on my christmas list, AC. Looked interesting enough.

They made it so you can activate the PS3 and stuff "anywhere" via internet. But I don't know if they changed it, before you like had to have your PS3 on, and in the remote play option and then it would send wifi to your PSP which then previewed what was on your PS3. I have done remote play in a while though.

Well many developers did shy away from it because they have been trying to avoid development for muilti-core PCs and this consol just doesnt give you the choice, they have to learn and learn fast. So it might just be possible, but I doubt his ego would let that stand in the way of it all.

Every so often in fighters, you see some major advancement and then you see nothing but the same old stuff over and over. I think we might see another jump this generation, as the consols are pushed harder.

The problem is slowdown and the occational freezing of the screen. And it apparently happens on the 360 version, too.

It's not a big problem. The game periodically saves automatically, and while restarting a console may seem tedious and horrible and obnoxious at the time... really, it's a pretty small flaw.

true but it can be used and abused as if it was a single core, like dual and quad core PC processors. The Cell in the PS3 cant be used like that.

Im hoping as well, it would be nice to see another evolution in the games.

I know not of anything compared to the 360, only that the games are identical, although 360 users claim that the PS3 colours are washed out.

Like what wingedbunnie mentioned, i have only had an issue with the game freezing once on me, oddly enough the buttons were responding, the rest just froze, and Ive had the game not want to load an area, there is a little area that is a loading area you can walk in and Ive had it not load, but maybe I got immpatient or was in a rush. Over all, ive had both only happen once and its really not a hugs issue, if it happened every 10 min, yes but its rare.

Also playing off what wingedbunnie said about it happening on the 360 version, id hazard a guess that its a coding issue, or a couple bugs in the game programing which, would be identical.
