Tam shakes his head. "No... I kind of got adopted while ye were ummm... busy about a week or so ago. Haven't ye met him yet? He's usually hanging around the kitchen, especially when anyone is cooking. Kind of like sneaking into beds as well... He's a tiny gray tabby. He was just here a minute ago... Puss... where are ye?" he calls dropping to his knees and looking under the furniture.

Tam reaches under the couch and pulls the kitten out, adding a few more scratches to his collection while he is at it.

"Hey... hey... hey... easy there, Puss... leave some of the blood in me why don't ye." He holds him up to Kero and smiles. "Kero, meet Puss. Puss, this is another authority figure. I know ye won't listen unless ye want to, but he's really a nice guy, so don't give him too much grief, OK?"

The kitten sniffs at Kero's nose then arches his back with a tiny hiss. But it is more for show than anything. He's still a little nervous following all the craziness he had just witnessed.

The kitten launches itself at Kerobian, landing on his back, catching itself with it's claws. Fortunately his fur is thick enough he doesn't get scratched. It climbs up to his face and rubs against his chin. "Mewrp?"

Tam smiles. "You two get acquainted while I get yer bath ready, Taro. Shall I build up a fire to warm the kitchen as well and curtain it off?"

**Again Tam shakes his head. Twice now he's been corrected on the kitten's sex. Can he really have been that mistaken?**

He goes to fix Kero a bath, building up the kitchen fire and hanging a blanket across a rod to close off the room, affording the cat some privacy as well as holding in the heat. Using a bit of bribery, Tam talks several of Kero's salamander friends into warming the bath and keeping it hot for the cat, then he goes to tell Kero it is ready.

Tam places the kitten on the table and continues to clean. laughing ruefully as he works. "As I started it... it is only right I clean it up... but remind me next time... will ye. Bop me over the head hard and telll me... to take it outside... this is beyond tedious."

**yosh and I totally freaked yuki out with a water fight in the kitchen last summer... she couldn't believe we'd actually do it... lol**

Tam laughs and scrubs the table top. And by the time Kero is done with his bath, he pretty much has the kitchen under control once more. Between the two of them they drag the tub outside to empty, then it is filled once more for Tam. He eyes the hot water with a sigh and climbs in lifting his wings carefully to keep from getting them soaked. It is impossible to sit in it, so he merely stands there and scrubs himself off, making certain to wash his hair first. Then he climbs out and reaches for his towel, which he had left hanging jn reach on the back of a chair.

By the light of a warm honey gold sun, Kero can see livid bruises all up and down his legs and long angry scratches that run the length of both arms.

Tam shrugs or rather he would if he can move. "Would ye believe a close encounter with a fallen tree and a rather closer encounter with one of Puss's relatives... in heat." He smiles thinly at Kerobian and asks if he can get dress now, of if he was to play garden statue for the day. "I'd make a lousy one though... too antsy... can't stand still long enough."
