Oh brother. Lillian pushed her lips to one side as she rolled her eyes to one side. “You sound just like that stuffy butler,” she commented. Sinclair had told her to let Ty handle what he could when it came to Sela since he’d proven himself as a capable father. She hadn’t doubted that he wasn’t, it was just that she was her mother and she felt responsible for everything that had to do with her daughter. It was just like Damien had told her, she was the mother and responsible for keeping everything together. She had to fill both roles for so long that it was hard for her to just give that up so suddenly. Even though Ty was her father, she still always felt a little awkward handing her daughter over to him. She faltered a little when he mentioned having already cleaned her house for her. Why would he bother doing something like that? Shaking her head a little, trying to remain focused on the real point, she looked up at him as he moved around her, turning and watching him move about his room. As he closed his bathroom door, she stared at the wood for a few seconds before dropping her head to the floor. “Alright…” she whispered before turning on her heel and walking out his bedroom door.

Tyrese waited beside the closed door, hearing the blonde exit the room the proper way before he sighed. The calendar across from him said it would be a full moon tonight. Paired with his heavy buzz, he only hoped he didn't do anything else that was stupid anytime soon. He shook his head, turning on his radio and taking a razor with him to the shower to shave with. Apparently he had a blind date to get to later on, he could at least look sober and put together for one afternoon before falling into shambles. With Sela going to be with her mother again, he'd have even less distractions. Maybe he would stay on the job site through the night, try and get some sleep on the couch in his office. He finished his shower and grooming, rubbing his bare chin as he dried off the rest of himself. He went on to getting dressed and finishing his routine.
It was still a little early and rainy outside, but Sela would forget both those things once he told her Lillian was home. He wouldn't be surprised if she forgot he even existed after Sinclair came to fetch her. At least she'd be happy, as would Victoria. Chuckling lowly, he meandered downstairs and tapped on his daughter's door before going inside. "Its time to wake up, miss lady. I have a surprise for you today." He hummed, rubbing her back as he sat on the bed and picked out her clothes. He wasn't going to pack any of it, she needed some of her things here with him. This was her second home. A soft song played through his ear buds as he held up a coat to go over her jumpsuit.

Conked out, Sela lay sprawled horizontally on her bed, head half hanging off the bed, arms tucked against her sides and one leg bent at the knee. Ophelia had fallen off the bed and Mister Rex was towards the foot of the bed thanks to her strange position. With blue hair hanging over her face, she groaned weakly as she felt a hand on her back. She was exhausted! The zoo had been fun, especially hanging around the wolf enclosure, but she felt terrible. Being so close to the full moon, her transformations were far less stable than they were already, causing her to shift at least twice yesterday. Of course, she didn’t know that and didn’t remember a thing of what happened during each one. Scrunching her nose, she turned her head away from him and pulled her hand up towards her lips, mumbling incoherent words. All she wanted to do was sleep. Hibernate. Even with the coercion of a surprise, she barely made a move to get up. After a few seconds, letting her mind fully process what was happening around her, she turned her head back to face him and pushed her hair out of her face. “A surprise?” she asked, her voice hoarse and cracking with sleep. “What is it daddy?”

Tyrese laid out her jacket then her outfit on top of it, chuckling at the groggy look on Sela's face. He leaned down and kissed the top of her nappy bird's nest of hair. "Mommy came home today, you're going to see her as soon as you're dressed and eat breakfast." He replied, getting up to pick out her stockings and shoes to match her outfit. He was used to her being here around the clock now, although it never got any easier. He was going to miss her when he usually went out for lunch, it would be even worse once she was in preschool. Seeing her just on weekends for a while, would be hard. He smiled in her direction, ushering her towards the washroom.

Blinking her tired red eyes, not moving as he kissed her head, hair fell back into her face causing her to once again push it aside so she could see. Smacking her lips a few times and then licking them, she wiggled her nose before it really sank in what he said. Did he just say her mommy was home?! Her eyes snapped all the way open and she scrambled out of bed, tripping over the giant plush that had fallen off her bed. “Uhf!” she grunted against the carpet before pushing herself up. “Mommy’s home! Mommys home!” she cheered happily as she made her way to the bathroom to clean up. She was so excited! She was beginning to think her mommy would never come back home. It had been so long since she last saw her mommy that she wasn’t sure just what to think!
In the bathroom, she climbed up to the sink and did all the things that she had been taught to do. She brushed her teeth, brushed her hair and washed her face. Maybe her mommy would do her hair for her when she saw her. She had a bit of a tender scalp, but still enjoyed the bonding all the same. Changing out of her pajamas, Sela worked herself into the clothes her daddy had picked out for her. Putting the hood up on her jacket, she dropped down to the floor and slipped on her shoes with her tongue sticking out a little. Once they were on her feet, her toes wiggled within them and stood. Standing on her tip toes, Sela threw the door open and scurried out of the bathroom and hurried down the stairs as fast as she could. “Come on daddy! We gotta go see mommy!” she called, forgetting that she needed to eat breakfast first. All she heard was her mommy was home and that was all the toddler was focused on.

Tyrese watched his daughter disappear in a flurry of excitement, picking up Ophelia from the floor and making the bed for the toddler. He then left the room, starting a breakfast of fried sausage and spinach with waffles. He was no where near hungry, rather than pretending he wasn't, after this morning's discussion. He wished he'd been forewarned, that he could have protected his emotions. He didn't want her hurt either, but she kept her emotions under such tight wraps most of the time that he didn't really know how she was reacting. Would she do something reckless, like when she wounded herself the day Sela saw her demon form? Would she lash out at someone? Come back in a few days to lash out at him? He wanted the best for her too! Even if he shouldn't. He shouldn't! He was still so angry.
Feeling sick, he looked up to see Sela running by. He hurried behind her and scooped her up, taking her back to the kitchen. "She's coming for you soon. Let's get some food in our tummies and hang out before you go home." He suggested, sitting her at the table with a glass of Orange juice and half a banana. Ty fed her according to the food groups and all, things like that were important. He could forget lunch, either cook it for Victoria and Hakem or pack it back into the freezer. Turning to make her plate, he sat it down and sat with the young wolf-demon hybrid.

“Urg!” Sela grunted as she was scooped up from the floor and whisked to the kitchen. Her small limbs flailed about as she tried to wiggle out of his grasp. “But daddy! I wanna see her now,” she pouted as she was sat in a chair at the table. Pursing her lips, she crossed her arms defiantly as she stared at the table. Her nose wiggled a little as the smell of breakfast caught her attention. Although she tried to keep her pouting up, her stomach growled hungrily, earning an embarrassed blush from the girl. Scooting down further in her seat, she pulled her hood down her face further before her plate was set in front of her. Moving back up in her seat, she looked down at the plate and blinked down at it. She just wanted to see her mommy. It had been too long and she missed her. As she stared at her plate, her expression became vacant, momentarily checking out before jerking upright with a deep inhale. “Daddy, can I still come to your thingy?” she asked as she bit into her banana and looked up at him.

"Mommy needs to settle in after being gone for three weeks. Just sit tight for a little longer." Ty encouraged, chuckling at the look on her face when her stomach growled. He began shifting through e-mail and news articles as she lingered, glancing when he sensed her becoming mentally absent. Honestly she would be fine, she'd be in her own little mood today and wouldn't shift unless she wanted to. It might be harder once night hit, but the shifting was never a forced process. Besides, she didn't have his or Lillian's temper, so it would certainly not be a repeat of high school. Just like he did, she would grow out of it, when she was able to control her emotions. Her hormones would be a different matter, he didn't look forward to. Shaking his head, he got up to make coffee.

“Oh…” she trailed off as she watched him shake his head. It was okay she guessed, she’d spend her time with her mommy again instead. Even though she wanted to go to his special thing after being with him at work everyday, getting to see her mommy after so long was just as good. Finishing off her banana, she quietly began eating the rest of her breakfast, feet kicking as she eagerly awaited for her mommy to pick her up. She wondered what she had been doing all this time. Why she left at all? There was a vague memory of her daddy saying that she tried to fall in love with someone else. Did that mean she ran away with them? Was she coming back with a new daddy? She wasn’t sure how she felt about that. She liked the daddy she had now, and new one just seemed like too much work. Pushing her lips to one side, Sela played with her food a bit as she continued to think about it.
Oh! What if she was doing some secret thing for her birthday? She was going to be turning three and that was a big birthday. Sela could barely remember what she did for her second birthday, but little passing images popped up as she tried to remember. There was glitter, a unicorn...Maybe? Why were birthdays only once? They were so much fun, you should have them all the time! "Daddy, what'd you get me for my birthday?"

With all the people who would be coming and going, staff and patrons, he didn't want his daughter to come up missing. He didn't want her locked in his office for seven or more hours either, so unless she visited with her mother then Sela wouldn't be there tomorrow. No hard feelings. The wolf cupped her cheek briefly once he came back to the table, brushing her hair aside before sitting back with his coffee. He took an aspirin too, trying to beat off the expected headache he'd feel later without a doubt. Now he just needed Sinclaid to get here. "It's a surprise, my darling. You will know once your birthday gets here." He chuckled, lifting his mug away from his lips while he spoke.

“I believe we’ve arrived,” Sinclair claimed as he parked the car along the curb and looked up to the house. It would seem the young Tyrese had done well for himself. He had been informed of the young man’s fame but found it just a tad hard to believe. Not in the way he thought Tyrese would never amount to anything, by no means was it that. It was just that, Sinclair didn’t find the boy particularly fond of unwanted attention and being so famous, it was part of the territory. However, he was happy for the boy nonetheless. Turning off the ignition, he looked towards the blonde sitting in the passenger seat. He knew she originally wanted to go to work first, but the idea of seeing her daughter had caused too much excitement in her and she had a change of heart. “I’ll be right back Milady,” he said as he got out of the car. She nodded as she pulled out her phone.
Walking up the pathway to the front door, he adjusted his shirt and tie to make himself look more presentable. Appearances were everything! Knocking on the door, he patiently waited for an answer, standing ever erect as always; holding an umbrella so as not to get wet. He’d always had good posture, even in his youth. The irony made him chuckle lightly before clearing his throat and straightening himself once again. Although, he did let his green eyes wander around the front of them home, catching sight of Master Lysander’s home only two houses down. Ever the extravagant spender that one. Looking back towards the car, he could faintly see Lillian’s shape with a phone to her ear. He could only imagine who she was talking to at this hour. The only people she knew that got up at such an hour were currently located at Tyrese’s residence.
Lillian’s fingers fidgeted within her lap as she sat in the passenger seat, telling Sinclair where to go as they drove through the rain. If she lied about being a little bit nervous, it would be an obvious one. While she currently didn’t feel any negative feelings, nervousness was there. She was a little scared to be going to Ty’s house so soon after their official breakup. But, the idea of seeing her daughter was too overwhelming. Lillian needed to hold her daughter again. It wasn’t just a want, she needed too, and another second away was too much. She should have just taken her home when she was at Ty’s this morning. But, she had walked to his house and she didn’t need the girl catching a cold, especially on tonight of all nights. In fact, Lillian probably wouldn’t work that long today because of it. There was no need to put too much strain on her when it was already hard enough trying to keep her shifting under control.
Hearing Sinclair’s voice, she looked over at him as he looked at the house. Glowing eyes looked past him to the house and nodded, “Yeah.” Tearing her gaze away to look anywhere else, she sighed before trying to slump in her seat and immediately sitting back up. Jesus! That hurt. Nodding as she was told he’d be right back, she pulled out her phone. It was hard enough getting in and out of the car, she wanted to do it as little as possible. Of course she wanted to be the one to greet her daughter and pick her up, but her bruised body prevented that. Scrolling through her contacts, her lips twitched in annoyance as she called a particular employee of hers. Hearing the phone ring a few times, she grumbled to herself until the beep of the answering machine. “Alex, your butt better be at work this morning or I’m putting you on room service...And your butt better be wearing pants!” she barked sarcastically into the phone before hanging up.
Sela looked up at him as he touched her cheek, confused by the action and even more confused when he brushed her hair away. What had she done? Blinking up at him, her head tilted to the side in mild confusion before brushing it off. Going back to eating her breakfast, she huffed through her nose when he wouldn’t tell her what he got her. “No fair! I don’t like surprises,” she pouted once again. Shoving waffles into her mouth, her cheeks puffed out because her mouth was too small, she perked at hearing the door only moments later. “Mom-” Sela coughed as she inhaled some waffles that went down the wrong pipe. Covering her mouth, her face began to turn red as she continued to cough, eyes watering. Reaching out for her orange juice with her other hand, she brought it closer to drink but was too distracted by her coughing to actually take a sip from it.

Tyrese only smiled fondly at her confusion, shaking his head so she knew it meant noting more than a gesture of affection. She should be used to it by now, Ty couldn't always spare a lot for words. And the ones he did give, he hoped were cherished. He loved his child. After a month, almost two, he knew he wouldn't mind having another one some day. As if he could fantasize such a thing with the way his relationships were going. He'd still chose to have a boy and name him Austin, but if he got a girl then that's fine too. He'd spoil any child of his. Stiffening as unpleasant words crossed his mind, his gaze lowered as he wondered about the child he and Lillian lost. His she could be so sure it was his, who knew or cared. It was so tiring to have one thing after the other.
Just as he sighed, the door sounded for his attention. He perked, giving a small jump as Sela gaged and choked. "Arms up." He stated lightly, taking her hands and raising her hands above her head. He held out his hand for her to spit her mouthful into, dumping it back into her plate before patting her back and giving her a sip of juice. The pose helped clear the lungs, so unless she's actually be choking, it would help. Once she seemed better, he kissed her forehead. "Be more careful." He got up, walking to and opening the door. He knew he told Lillian to have Sinclair pick up their child today. "Goodmorning." He recognized Lillian's car, seeing a silhouette move around inside. Stepping aside, he let Sela push past him, letting her go wether she rememebered to say goodbye or not.

Tucking an arm behind his back, he turned once the door opened. “Ah, good morning Mister Havens,” Sinclair greeted with a respectful bow of his head. Ever the proper English gentleman, to go along with it, Sinclair’s accent was still as thick as the day he left. “How are you doing this morning?” The question held more meaning than the usual ‘how are you’. The family butler was keenly aware of everything that had been transpiring between the two lovers since high school. He was Lillian’s one confidant above all others. Plus, his calming demeanor helped get through both Hall twin’s thick heads. “I was informed that I was to pick up Miss Sela this morning,” he added as he maintained eye contact with the man, who was actually just barely an inch taller than him.
Green eyes flickered downward as a tiny body came barreling out of the house. Scooping up the toddler before she could go splashing through the rain, he held her with one arm. The corner of his lips tugged into the slightest of smiles as he felt Sela give him a hug, resting her head on his shoulder. “Oh! Something came for you,” he said as he switched his umbrella to his other hand and reached into his pocket. “I believe it had something to do with your birthday. Unfortunately I believe the Lady forgot she had this sent to the house.” Pulling out the small package, he handed it over to the young father.
As he helped her dislodge the piece of waffle, she coughed it up and drank her juice to settle her throat. She gave him a silent nod as she sipped at her juice, watching him leave to answer the door. When she heard the male voice respond, Sela jumped out of her seat. “Sinclair!” she called as she pushed past her daddy and out into the rain. Her feet slapped against the wet concrete before she was scooped up by the man. She hadn’t seen him in even longer time! Not since they moved. Quickly she gave him a hug, a big smile plastered on her face. Was he coming to live with them again? That would be so amazing! She could watch him do all his weird tests, like she used to do back home. Her mommy never really liked it, but she would always sneak into his lab anyways. Resting her head on his shoulder, she looked up once she heard the word ‘lady’. “Is mommy here?” she asked bringing her head up and looking around.
Her crimson eyes spotted her mommy’s car and she wiggled herself out of Sinclair’s grasp. She could barely make out a figure in the car, squinting to try and get a better look. Lillian looked up, hearing the voices beyond the car. It was hearing her baby’s voice that caused the woman to tear herself from the car. She didn’t care about any residual pain at the moment, her painkiller took care of most of it anyways. Opening the door, she got out and looked over the hood of the car to see Sela standing with them, staring right back at the car. “Mommy!” she called and dashed towards the car.
Lillian’s heart raced with happiness at seeing her little girl again. Her eyes welled with tears as she ran around her car to meet her daughter on Ty’s lawn. It’s a good thing she was taught to walk in heels because now she was good enough to run short distances in them without killing herself. Forgetting about everything else, the blonde dropped to the wet grass and embraced her child in a bear hug. Sela hugged her just as tightly back. Burying her face into the little girl’s hair, she stroked the navy locks lovingly. “I’ve missed you Little Rock,” she whispered into the girl’s ear, her voice quivering. “I missed you too mommy,” Sela cried, clinging tightly to her mother.
